  4. Brilliant just brilliant. I know I have been branded the biggest pessimist on here and I can take that as long as this lot prove me wrong I am over the moon A big thanks from me to the members on this forum for making this place what it is, and here is to CL football next season UTC

  5. Fucking thrilled! Just want to point out - let things unfold and be patient. We all bitch and moan on here, and are spoilt brats wanting things to happen overnight. I'm not a fan of Maresca as an example, but our club has completely changed its ownership, its starting 11, its methodology of building internally, its spending and long term strategy... and we've won the world championship in the span of 3 years from our "lowest point". We're establishing a system that is far more suited to long term success. It won't always be wins, but its going to be a far more sustainble model IMO. Loving it - up the Chels!

  6. Good evening Chelsea family, glad to see this place is still alive and kicking. Small thoughts on our transfer window so far. I think the Delap signing is great value for money, and in today's market where your young talented CFs are going for 90m-100m+ euros, it's a snip. Of course he isn't a top 9 yet, but low risk high reward imo. Quenda, just watched him in the France u21 v Portugal u21 matchup. Kid's legit. Elite winger in the making, great weight of pass, great football IQ, great athleticim and a nice technical floor. Wish we could bring him in a bit earlier because I think he's ready to start in the PL tbh. Essugo seems like a raw guy, so really looking forward to see *how* raw exactly. Seems like a good dude to bring off the bench to add beef into the midfield. Sarr seems like the type of CB we need - strong, athletic, front footed. He is still a bit raw though it seems. Interested to see how he cooks in the CWC. For me the priorities now are, bring in Maignan if you can and run a 2 man rotation between him and Sanchez (Maignan as the no. 1 of course). Looks like they're hellbent on selling Petrovic and he seems to be ready to go anyways. I don't think Jorgensen will ever be good enough (happy to be proved wrong) and I don't think Penders needs to sit on the bench here - Maignan can be a perfect in between. I would also look at an elite right footed winger - so someone like Rodrygo, Barcola, Leao or maybe even Nico Williams. If possible, let's grab also a 10/wing hybrid type player too so we can actually rotate Palmer or not be too effected if he goes missing through injury/form. I really like Ekitike as well but I think that's more of a luxury signing tbh, not essential. Also heard we might be after Hato at LB, wouldn't be so mad at that. So for the rest of the window if you bring in: Maignan Rodrygo/Barcola/Leao/Nico Williams Hybrid 10/LW or maybe just another right footed left winger (Gittens is ok if they can get a reasonable price) Ekitike Hato I think we have a top window here. Then it's about selling. Whether they can pull that off, I don't know. The owners and SDs so far have looked very amateurish in general. They've done some good stuff but done a lot of bad stuff as well.

  7. Just want to bring some perspective to yesterday's goings on....We knew the window was short and what annoyed me the most was the fact the deals/players we were going for were not 70/80M players, they were players who both wanted to come here, had relatively low values based on the current market and we still couldn't get it done. Right, so I hear the window opens Monday again..so does that mean our targets are going to go from Gittens and Maignan to Donnuruma and Williams? Not a fucking chance, we went low for players and will remain at that price level and that player level, the pattern over the last two seasons tell you all you need to know. I'm hearing and reading I maybe unrealistic....nah I have been around Chelsea since the mid 80's, seen the bad times, seen the better times, seen the incredible times and seen the decline again, but what was the most stand out thing about all the times I have supported and followed the club is we always, always had a smattering of young but with experience wrapped around it, whether it be the mid 80's or 2025 you need this, and this is what this board are not getting. An arm round a shoulder is as key as a bit of flair skill, a low moment was where players were judged, where leaders and figure heads came in..years ago it was Bumpstead, Speedie, the baton was then passed to the Zola's and Poyet's, then we had the Terry's and Carvalho's, Coles and Lampards, these were your leaders and the ones that took things on the chin and galvanized the group. What we are seeing now is Tosin and Bettinelli's (gone) spoken about being the leaders and the characters in the changing room...nah fucking nah, we have a captain that is injured all the time, a dud keeper, mis mash centre backs, wingers that don't work anywhere near as hard as they should and meant to be flair players but offer fuck all and still years on pining for a striker we still have not got. Drogba passed the baton but it was dropped a million times between Torres, Morata, Higuain.. picked up by Giroud, dropped again between Lukaku and so on and so on without any order, Drogba and Hasslebaink with a smattering of Gudjohnsen to add flair..... The point Im trying to make is sign experience, do not cut corners, do not discard experience and this club deserves to have these calibre of signings which is why I am not having these owners and SD's one bit, they have no clue what they are doing and the direction is non existent. What we seen and witnessed yesterday was shambolic, whether it be only for a few days until the window opens again, this was about, and lets solely focus on the keeper for one second, an experienced and very good shot stopper for a car boot price, someone the manager wanted, forget the briefs, he wanted him because he plays well with his feet and we went in for him with a reason, we failed, we failed the manager because the club is obsessed with penny pinching, yet the graphs and data tell you we are way above the PSR curve, with ease. The direction is rotten, the outlook is rotten, the club has lost it's way, I love Chelsea always will but the faith is slowly draining from me because the people in charge are a disgrace. Seen the good seen the bad, this is really bad, but always Chels

  9. Just boarded my flight out there. Going via Berlin and then a train to Wrocław. Taking my 12 year old boy for his first European away too! Had a nightmare with my hotel, having had it booked 1 year in advanced, they cancelled my room last Tuesday due to "Room Modernization", which I guess is just another term for profiteering. Thankfully booking.com were excellent and they sorted me another hotel which was only confirmed Saturday. Very stressful few days between however!! Hopefully no more dramas or stress and we go on to make history.

  14. After weeks of rain summer finally arrived where I live, and we kicked PSG's ass, what a day!!! Everyone played great, but Gusto deserves extra credit, he seemed to completely forgot how to play football after his first season, but Today he was amazing.. It's also nice to know Palmer has still got it. Delap also looked sharp, we might have good times having him and Joao Pedro. Kudos to the boys and Maresca, what they have done since May(Newcastle loss) is wonderful. Hope Enzo and Reece are ok, also Lavia.

Hearing Guiu is close to Ipswich on loan. Think that is a good move for him. Champo provides a good introduction to English football and provides a lot of minutes. Delap for £30m plus Guiu getting a good loan out of it means the deal keeps on getting better. Will keep a close eye on Guiu next season, as I think he will do very well at that level.

    Wolves 2-6 Chelsea

Righto just watched the replay - missed the game live as I was busy with my partner having our first baby delivered :) Lovely to watch how dangerous we are going forward - Neto and Palmer both look excellent and we know they can do it in PL. Great game from Madueke as well obviously. Coaching will sort out Caicedo's performance(s) in the pivot imo, he's just rushing things a bit when he doesn't need to and other times not rushing it a bit when he does need to, but he'll totally get it. Hope Lavia is back soon though, he is in better form (and had a proper preseason). Earlier in this thread there was some talk around how toxic it is on this forum and in general in the Chelsea fanbase now, and how lots of people are becoming disengaged and lurking instead of posting. I feel this! I also lurk a lot simply because the toxicity is so strong and it feels a bit like going to an opposition's forum sometimes, when you check out the threads they have about your club. Unfortunately this will only go away (a bit) if we go on a sustained winning run, we saw the same from Arsenal and lots of clubs when they were shit and poorly run for ages. Winning is the best tonic.

  19. I think we definitely need a quality CB to come in. I just don't trust Chalobah - Tosin with Badi as the only backup against any decent PL team. Fofana (at this point) shouldn't be considered as anything more than a squad option considering his injuries.

  28. Said to my lad tonight, you only have to watch the Sky Sports presenter Kaveh Solikol, he was interviewed after we won the last round, when they went to him live they started it with 'Kaveh, Chelsea are through the SF of the CWC, tell us more" he said "I have to start today with Chelsea have been fined a serious amount of money" and then went on to say "Delap and Colwill are suspended so it's not all bright for Enzo Maresca's Chelsea" Fucking wankers and I love it

  37. Despite the result, I think he was really quite good today. Calm on the ball and did what was asked of him in defence. Promising start to his premier league career... Hope to see a lot more from him. If we are back to Disassi or Tosin next match I might lose my mind.

    Chelsea 1-1 Arsenal

Maresca needs to stop giving Palmer 'untouchable' status. If he isn't playing great then take him off. In some of the biggest games this season such as Liverpool and United, he played him whole game and he did not do anything to change the game of note. So today, he was quite quiet, especially in second half and if he was indeed struggling, then he should have came off. Why are we buying likes of Felix and Nkunku who are really good bench options if we are afraid to use them. Happy with the point but frustrated with the subs. Neto was MOTM for me. He was brilliant all game. Fofana I thought was brilliant today too.

  44. Exactly the same things have been said about Solanke when he was at Chelsea and Liverpool. He ultimately exploded last season, Spurs have now taken the risk, but it's still unsure wheter he can maintain that level or back to mediocrity. Difference between top players and Championship-level players is very small actually. There are hundreds or greatly talented players with insane potential around, but ability of making quick and good decisions and putting up with stress at the highest level makes the difference, as well as showing flexibility and responding positively to change(new coach, new system etc.) Mudryk clearly is talented and quick AF but it is also clear he is lacking confidence very much and seems unable to adapt, evolve. Just look at Madueke, they arrived at the same time, he hardly got any chances at the beginning, but one can see he believes in himself and always trying to impress, even it means he seems selfish and wasteful at times. He improved a lot and he definetly improved his position in the squad in the last 18 months, while Mudry going deeper and deeper. Noni always asking for the ball and looking to score goals, Mudryk is hiding behind defenders not to receive the ball and making safe passes not to embarrass himself. This behaviour on the pitch is not taking him anywhere. Imo, Mudryk definetly needs a loan to a team where he can be the star player, run the show and enjoy himself, things which he clearly doesn't at Chelsea. I have doubts wheter he is capable to turn things around at this point. I want to say I am cheering for him, but for me he is not a likeable charachter at all.
