He is a more “proven” player now than he was when we bought him and he has shown that he can put up great numbers in the toughest league. He is also still only 25 and not even in his prime yet.
If he absolutely demands that he goes to City and ONLY City to reunite with Maresca, it’s an unequivocal no for a penny less than the £107m we paid for him. The ONLY players I’d take coming the other way are if Foden or Rodri want to be main men again and start most weeks here which they won’t do for City.
As I said before, if the likes of Elliot Anderson is being talked about for £100m then Enzo who is a better and more productive player is worth more.

Selling City one of our best players and taking one of their bang average ones who isn’t good enough for their best XI would be incredibly stupid. Even our idiots aren’t dumb enough to do that.

We need to see a level of ruthlessness never before witnessed in terms of outgoings if this shambolic ownership has any hopes at all of winning some of the supporters back this summer.
They have to SHOW us that they are as embarrassed, humiliated, and angry as we are and show us that this level is completely unacceptable. And they do that by first and foremost getting rid of all of these horrific players they’ve spunked hundreds of millions on who were NEVER good enough to wear the Chelsea shirt.

Thank fuck it’s finally over. Our worst ever PL season on and off the pitch.
And thank fuck that’ll be the last time we ever have to see some of these jokers in a Chelsea shirt. Fofana in particular. Never want to see this childish moron here again.
And if some of these underperformers like Gusto find themselves fortunate enough to still be with us next season they should NEVER be starters again. Only squad players.

More than anything this summer I just hope we target ONLY highly technical ballers. Whether they’re “big” names or not, we need to stop going after players who are nothing but runners or physical specimens like Delap or Garnacho. I’m sick of seeing our rivals going for super skillful, classy wizards like Cherki, Eze, Wirtz etc whilst we get dudes who can’t dribble past a training cone and whose only abilities are running in a straight line when theres’s a mile of open space.
We have enough big and strong or powerful players. I’m hoping that with Alonso now here we target EXCLUSIVELY highly skilled players who can’t dribble past excel in one touch, fluid football.
It’s why I’m actually warming to the idea of us going for Alex Scott from Bournemouth. Whilst our rivals are going for the bigger names like Anderson/Wharton/Tonali etc I feel like Scott is much more easily attainable for us. Has been one of the best CM’s in the league this season and fits that deep sitting Xhaka role Alonso loved at Leverkusen.

How do they sell this to the fanbase if they do it? One of our leaders, best players, and someone huge parts of the fanbase loves. Especially at a time where you're briefing everyone that you want MORE of these kinds of senior leaders?
Unless you’ve already got a top class midfielder lined up who has given you the green light that they’re keen to join then you CANNOT sell Enzo to a PL team.
It’s one thing when you sell a Havertz/Mount/Madueke/Kovacic etc who we no longer needed to another PL side. But it sends a terrible message when you start selling players who are integral to the team.

If we sell him we surely do so for much more than that. At least getting back what we paid for him. If Elliot Anderson is rated at £100m than Enzo is easily worth more.

Criminal if we do that. Selling arguably our best player this season to a team we’re trying to compete with just can’t happen. These owners trying to get the Chelsea supporters back on their side by correcting mistakes they’ve made. Selling our vice captain and one of our best players to a direct rival will piss everyone off even more.
Unless there’s some sort of deal where Foden for example comes the other way since they have Cherki as their new starboy.

Barco basicslly confirmed now. And I see lots of Chelsea fans on Twitter who clearly haven’t watched him and are moaning. But I am super confident that he will be a great signing. Perfect technical ability, great passer, whilst also being very combative and versatile.
I think for sure he and Hato will rotate in the left sided combo role. Just a smart signing exactly Jorrel was.

Selling Enzo at this point just seems like a terrible idea. Both for what he offers on the pitch statistically but also because he seems like a really well beloved teammate around the squad.
For the overall balance of the TEAM it may make sense to get a midfielder of a different profile. But I just don’t see how you replace his statistical production.
You’ll see the obvious links with a couple of the Real Madrid midfielders coming the other way but one, why would Tchouameni come here in our current state and two, he doesn’t really offer any of the attacking threat Enzo does, right?
Anyways, as long as he ONLY goes to Real Madrid I will eventually get over it. If we are stupid enough to even think about selling him to Maresca and watch him pull a KDB or Salah then that’s unforgivable.

Ngl, this definitely makes me lose a bit of respect for Maresca. It absolutely looks like he snaked his way out of here because he had been told Pep was going months ago and City wanted him to be the replacement.
He’s got the plausible deniability to blame it on clashing with our board, and there likely WAS some of that, but no manager in his position just up and walks away from a top PL job with zero compensation if he didn’t already have something he considers better lined up.
Maresca knew LONG before he left Chelsea that he was the next City manager and was working on it WHILST he was managing us. That’s fucked up, tbh…

We’re already going to need a high quality striker with JP here! The idea that we can ever consider selling him this summer is crazy. Unless he himself literally begs the club to let him go AND Barca can come up with £85-90m we shouldn’t even be picking up the phone.
I don’t know of any striker of JP’s level who we could go out and easily replace him with.

^ @Vesper For me we need a Jorginho type but with significantly more mobility. A controlling, deep sitting midfielder with excellent technical ability.
Lavia was supposed to be just that for us of course and does that defensive screen role perfectly but we need to move him on this summer because he can only play 5 games per season.
Andrey Santos does the job well in this role but I’m not sure he’s every match starter level at a club like ours. Very good squad player who gets starts here and there.
We really need to replicate the Kante, Jorginho, Kova midfield. We have Caicedo and Enzo who can be the box to box guys but we need a super high quality string puller this summer. You plug a Anderson/Wharton/Scott type right at the base of our midfield and it transforms how we can play.

I have a lot of respect for Bowen but he would be a no for me. When we say we want experienced, high quality players we mean in the 25 year old range not 30 like Bowen. He’s a player who depends entirely on his physical tools and doesn’t strike me as the type who will age well. And his game is also not really suited to a possession based short passing style. He’s a counter attacking player and essentially a slightly better Garnacho.
Plus, with Estevão and Quenda on our right side I don’t know where he’d fit. Especially if we’re playing 1 match a week.
