Lamps would be the absolute desperation play from the owners. It would essentially be them saying “here is your all time favorite son, please stop hating us!”
We’d probably have a nice start to next season where everyone around the club is nice and happy and then collapse again soon because Frank simply isn’t a top manager yet.

We would need some serious personnel changes if Iraola is the choice. Which I’m not sure we can do if the reports of our finances being a total mess are true. A LOT of players have to be moved on once again and quite a few that suit him would need to come in.
Marco Silva is a great coach but I’m skeptical that he’d be a good fit at this moment. I think he would be Maresca level inday we’ll look tactically well set up and more structured but not good enough to truly become elite.
Eddie Howe would be a puppet here. Very solid coach but again, is he good enough to challenge for titles?

I pray that Lamps isn’t actually on the list for consideration. He’s one of my favorite ever players but I just don’t think he is Chelsea manager level still. He’s at the perfect sort of club right now. We’ve tried the experiment a couple of times now and it hasn’t worked out.

The repetitive narrative in the media about us reappointing Frank is a joke surely?
I mean he has already shown in 2 spells here he isn’t really cut out for managing a big club in the PL. He was barely cut out for Everton. Plus he doesn’t have the personality or authority to challenge the owners or sporting directors. He’s not got enough merit as a manager in the bank to do so, probably why they have him on the list.
Would be a daft appointment given the sheer amount of work needed to change things at the club. He’s done well getting Coventry up but the links are ridiculous, be it pure speculation or that he is actually on the shortlist again.
Suppose they’ll probably announce him on a 10 year deal though.

Don’t know how anyone can look at that XI and feel any kind of hope. And the bench is embarrassing. I realize that we have a bunch of key injuries but still. For this to be the state of our bench after all the money spent is mad.

Yep, these quotes from Eghbali are absolutely some desperate PR meant to buy them some more time with the fans in hopes that dangling more transfer news will calm the supporters.
We’ve now been hearing the same “just be patient, we’re building somehting special” shit for years now and things have only gotten worse.

On the one hand it’s obviously smart to wait until after the season to assess more options. But on the other you risk having unexpected competition for your main choices if some other huge jobs suddenly come open.
If United decide they don’t want to keep Carrick. If Arse complete the meltdown and finish 2nd for the 4th straight season will Arteta be safe? They may feel he’s taken them as far as he can. Pep could leave City. Slot doesn’t exactly feel like a complete lock in his position.

All the quotes and stories I’m seeing on social media about Iraola make it sound like he’s one of those maniacal coaches who works his players into the ground in terms of training and prep. Which is something these players could do with but also something where you can see some serious issues since so many of our players are divas which huge egos.
He sounds very much like other super micromanager type Spanish coaches like Pep and Arteta.

Emery, Simeone. Shit, even Klopp. There’s likely a 1% chance these guys say yes but you should at least offer them a massive bag of cash and decision making power.
Kompany is in the ultimate dream spot for a manager currently where he can sleepwalk to league titles and make deep UCL runs most seasons. Exactly like Enrique. I think the only job he’d leave Bayern for is to succeed Pep at City.

Terzić would be another clown appointment akin to Rosenior or even Maresca before he arrived and proved himself. A massive risk we’d be fucking insane to take after this current appointment.
Iraola or Marco Silva who have shown excellent flashes in the PL already might be the best we could hope for in our current state. I love Fabregas but even he would be a massive risk I don’t think we can afford at this moment in time.

If you ask yourself “would any other big side in the PL even consider this manager if there was an opening at their club” and the answer is no chance, we shouldn’t be going anywhere near them.
Enough with the “project” managers or the “young and promising coach who can grow with the young team over the years.” We need a PROVEN, respected manager whose priority first and foremost is to WIN NOW, not in 3 years.

Shocked I haven’t woken up to a Comunicado Oficial.
Imagine how fucking toxic shit will get if Rosenior is in charge at Wembley and loses to Leeds of all clubs.

I legit feel bad for the guy. Came here with a humble attitude, seems like a genuinely nice person, never bigged himself up and acted like he was here on merit or acted arrogant. I’m sure for a certain profile of club he’d be a solid manager still.
His issue is that he was/is woefully unqualified for this job and 100% of the blame needs to be placed in the owners. They’ve killed this club and now that they’re going to HAVE to sack their handpicked puppet Rosenior, it’s going to make convincing any new manager worth a damn even tougher.

Cesc strikes me as someone smart enough to have watched some of the managers we’ve burned through and realize that jumping straight from a small club to the Chelsea hot seat is a terrible idea. I think he’ll take a stepping stone sort of job at a decent sized club first and if he continues to look good he’ll then be looking at the top ones.
