  1. Delayed post, but James deserves a lot of credit for his gesture by taking the interim coach to the fans after the City game. Very good character. I've said this before, but one of the things Chelsea fans can take to heart this season, is the growing leadership that both James and Enzo Fernandez have shown on occasion this season. Still a lot more to go, to get near Azpilicueta, let alone Drogba, Terry or Lampard levels. But a good sign nonetheless.

    Man City 1-1 Chelsea

Delighted with the result/performance yesterday. I had little hope before the game and the bookies thought we had little chance too. First half, we rode our luck. They were all over us and Haaland hit the post. Second half we improved. Neto missed a sitter and thought we wasn't going to get another chance until Enzo scored. I thought Enzo scoffed it. Only realised it went in until he started celebrating. Palmer, is still frustrating me a bit. He got on the ball more second half but isn't influencing the game enough. He seemed to be outmuscled or lost the ball everytime he took on one of their players. I want to see him back to the player we know. He just wasn't that effective, albeit he was better in the second half than first half. I was surprised we did not add on another attacker as we went for the goal second half. I still thought we were playing it too safe and if the same situation arises again, we really needed to get another winger on the pitch to stretch the opposition. Also said in first page of this thread that City having less rest is only glimmer of hope I had and you can see towards latter stages, City looked knackered and I think the extra rest may have helped us, but balances out considering we had Sanchez, Cucu and Caicedo unavailable. Let me not forget Fofana, Colwill and Lavia all unavailable too. Santos was brilliant when he came on. Won the ball back a few times and mad excellent progressive runs with the ball which broke their press. Delap was really good too imo. He really held the ball up well and brought a different dynamic to the game. Liverpool drawing made that even a more important result. I don't see Liverpool getting anything at Arsenal, so if we beat Fulham, we should be above Liverpool by end of the week, my prediction tells me. Fulham also missing 2/3 key players at AFCON.

  7. I'm not sure the red card would have changed much, Fulham were way too full of fuck before that and once again a team wanted it more which if the project puppet is going to change things it has to be this and the desire to control games from the off

  8. Absolute shite again We need to talk about Palmer, he is fucking way off it right now and that performance again we are left talking about another red card. Lets be honest, right now this club is an utter shambles, from top to bottom. We came to another hostile place, failed to quieten the ground because we can't play simple football, got dragged down to a level worse than we actually are and have been easily beaten Don't anyone ever tell me I have no reason to be negative, there is every reason, this club right now is a complete cancer

  9. Well we did sign (some academy also) and then sell Madueke, Chukwuemeka, Veiga, Amougou, Petrovic, Moreira, Angelo, Maatsen, Hutchinson, Hall, Gallagher, Mount, Ampadu, CHO etc. all at profits. Some huge profits. Some in particular Madueke, Chukwuemeka, Veiga, Amougou, Petrovic, Moreira, Angelo were all signed by BlueCo…. all sold by BlueCo. Within 1-2 seasons of buying them. Would imagine the likes of Jackson, Paez, Kellyman, Anselmino, Sarr & Essugo all likely going to be added to that list also because we already have players joining & likely buy more again? At least 3 of them probably? Whether their profits or not on all but again, long contracts, young ages, good position to generate revenue no? The narrative isn’t that it’s all we do but the recruitment is clearly geared up to look like its going that way. They can say whatever they want about the right player over 23 not being available etc in certain windows to gullible journalists but cmon…. People were critical of us & Vitesse under the previous ownership for the loan army and what not. And BlueCo believed football side of the club wasn’t run well.. they have turned us into Brighton/Leipzig/Monaco, player trading between us & Strasbourg at will, like the NFL draft 😂

A club that has employed some of the biggest and best managers in the world and won the biggest trophies is appointing a guy who wouldn’t even be under consideration by clubs near the bottom of the league. It’s like someone is playing a sick joke on us.

MILES??? I don’t think it is. Our squad is seriously average at best. Soo many of our players lack the fundamentals of football. I’m yet to see ANY of them play an intelligent line splitting pass to an attacker making a clever run. Neither parts to that scenario exist. The general ability of our attack is not that good at all. It’s extremely worrying.

  20. Maybe they weren’t bought to sell at first, but maybe they were? You cannot have a 50 man squad so it is natural they would have to sell some of these guys they bought, no? And given how frequently we have been buying players since BlueCo have come in, you cannot say that it makes sense to buy another 4 or 5 players every window but they always do. In the same positions. So obviously some are bought with Strasburg in mind or loaning out or flipping for profit? No? Naming like 3 of the 40 odd players we have signed under BlueCo means nothing (Cucurella one of the first buys when they weren’t going with the co sporting directors direction as they weren’t in place). There is clearly more than enough evidence that they have sold players, that they’ve signed maybe 6-12 months earlier. Whether its intentional or not, it has happened. Countless times.

  21. True. None of this is on Rosenior. Hope he comes in and does a good job without the noise around his appointment. The "new manager bounce" usually works for a few months, so there's that going for him for at least till end of the season.

    Liam Rosenior Thread

The whole “at least we should see our players playing in their correct positions now” sentiment that I’m seeing from a lot of people I’m skeptical about. What exactly does that mean with our current squad? Fofana & Trev is our best CB pairing and that automatically means Trev plays outside of his natural position on the left instead of the right. Lots of people moan about our fullbacks pushing up into midfield or even bombing all the way forward in Cucu’s case but that’s what’s made him such a valuable player these last 2 years. Tbh, the positions the players were deployed in wasn’t so much the issue with Maresca. It was the constant chopping and changing and never building genuine chemistry.

  25. Where has this narrative come from all we do is buy and sell players for profit? Who exactly are these players your talking about?

  26. I am 100 per cent backing him atm. I hope he does great things and elevates the club despite the board's too-often-poor decisions.

  27. Gary O’Neill, Rosenior's replacement at Strasbourg, is represented by Wasserman Agency. Wasserman also represent former Chelsea manager Graham Potter, incoming manager Liam Rosenior, Mali Gusto, Lesley Ugochukwu and until Summer 2025, former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca. Close links to current director Paul Winstanley as well. The next time someone tells me this board is making decision by "analyzing metrics", I'm just gonna take it with a pinch of salt. There is now a growing body of evidence that they're just doing deals that are easy business-wise instead of thinking what is important football-wise.

  29. Sat together discussing how to make Strasbourg feel better after ripping the heart out of the club and massage them into feeling better. Instead of being sat around a table discussing what is needed at this club which is far more important than Strasbourg. Whilst we are around the table discussing other clubs problems, Man City are in talks with Palace to sign a player we should be approaching in Marc Guehi How sad.

  30. Fuck sake is that the only ambition you think a manager should have for us? Develop young players, sell them off, rinse & repeat. Winning is what any Chelsea manager pre BlueCo needed to do. BlueCo have killed this club. An absolute cancer. Only 6 years left before they can sell up as per the original sale, cannot come soon enough. People bought in at the beginning (optimistically) but anyone with 2 eyes could see after Tuchel’s sacking and all the changes in structure/recruitment they were full of shit.

  32. Sources: Chelsea turn attentions to Ivory Coast international winger https://siphillipstalkschelsea.substack.com/p/sources-Chelsea-turn-attentions-to There’s a new name on the Chelsea recruitment agenda right now, and it’s a player making waves out there in world football. We are into the January transfer window now, but you’d be forgiven if you had forgotten all about it due to everything else that has been going on at our club. Chelsea are seeking out any possible opportunities for January, and we could well see one or two new arrivals into the first team squad. We just have to wait and see on that, with the new manager, Liam Rosenior, arriving this week. But there’s a new name that has caught Chelsea’s attentions this week. SPTC Sources have been told that are stepping up scouting on RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande. The 19-year-old attacker can play on the left or on the right, and he has already earned 7 caps for Ivory Coast, scoring 2 goals along the way. He’s also bagged 7 goals in 16 appearances in Bundesliga this season so far, playing mostly off the left wing. Chelsea now have him on their radar and are pondering a potential move to try and sign him in the near future. It’s VERY unlikely that Leipzig will allow any sale mid-season, but clubs interested in Diomande are trying to be quick about it because both Tottenham and Manchester United have registered their interest in the player as well as Chelsea. He’s another rising talent that has a big future ahead of him. Chelsea have put themselves firmly in the mix now.

  33. Bit of a conspiracy that. There is a lot of nonsense from the BlueCo PR machine regarding Maresca to save face, wouldn’t take it all as gospel. Same with Poch. Same with Tuchel. I mean who do you think is putting that out to the media? If Maresca called out our mob & walked away from £14m compensation because he was that mad, do you think he’s gonna work under Wilcox & Vivell, who have effectively spat the dummy at Amorin after he said they need to do their jobs 😂? Strange as they were all behind him last season when they sat 15/16/17th in the table now he has them 6th, they sack him? After he says he expected to be Man Utd’s manager, not head coach & told them they need to do their jobs? Lot of fragile egos at both clubs, anyone with sense will avoid them.

  39. The price of sporting franchises is going up annually doesn’t matter the sport. If BlueCo just treads water for a decade (while making a few dollars on player transfers) all the better for them. Exit sale will be much higher than the purchase price just by rising tides…

  46. The medical staff also had a big say according to multiple sources, it wasn't just the starting 11 selection but how many minutes certain players were given. My take on all this is simple, the cunts at the top didn't back him as we know, but at the same time I think Maresca give the two fingered salute by not starting Josh because we didn't get a Levi replacement. I think Maresca just downed tools as I think some players are now The signings of Delap, Hato, Garnacho, the sheer embarrassment of having to go to Sunderland with our tails between our legs and get Guiu back because we fucked up yet another transfer window and we all knew Delap was going to fail because he is shite. Joao Pedro not an out and out 9 but we hoped and prayed he would do it

  47. I want to hear from Maresca, I hope he speaks out as the more I am reading he has actually just got his stuff and walked out. That's the biggest two fingered salute to the owners, basically saying I have had enough of this shit show, micro managing and picking the team above me...
