The massive overrating of Gallagher and complete dismissal of KDH before he’s even kicked a ball for us in the PL is crazy.13 points

Conor worked hard as fuck and was a servant for the club, humble, played in whatever position you asked him to without complaint, would be a squad player without complaint, ran all day at max intensity, stayed fit, saved our season last year. Happy he got a good move to a top club that will suit him and that he chose to go to Spain and play in the CL regularly to have a real career for himself. Top lad. Don't think he's one we will ever regret losing but I for one am thankful for what he did for us and proud that he came through at Chels and in the end we could find a good solution for everybody.11 points

Its the right move for him. Let’s pay our respects to that man, he played with his heart on his sleeve for us. He has blue blood but unfortunately just isnt what we are looking for going forward. Good luck Conor.11 points

Seeing Felix take over the shirt number from Trev is honestly more sad than what happened to Conor. The latter at least got a good season representing the club, wearing the armband, then there was a disagreement with the contract so he now takes on a new interesting challenge. All parties win, no hard feelings. But Trev is just as much a blue, happily signed every contract handed to him, always gave it his all, got unlucky with injury, returned as our best CB only to be cut loose before there was even anyone asking, now has to hand over his modest shirt number to the 17th attacking mid we randomly signed, will now be sold for peanuts to join some boring mid table club to rescue his career8 points -

Some fans when we appointed Maresca "fuck sake yes he won the Championship but he did it with a PL team in waiting hardly an achievement". Same fans when we sign best player in the same team "fuck sake why we signing Championship players?"8 points

Righto just watched the replay - missed the game live as I was busy with my partner having our first baby delivered :) Lovely to watch how dangerous we are going forward - Neto and Palmer both look excellent and we know they can do it in PL. Great game from Madueke as well obviously. Coaching will sort out Caicedo's performance(s) in the pivot imo, he's just rushing things a bit when he doesn't need to and other times not rushing it a bit when he does need to, but he'll totally get it. Hope Lavia is back soon though, he is in better form (and had a proper preseason). Earlier in this thread there was some talk around how toxic it is on this forum and in general in the Chelsea fanbase now, and how lots of people are becoming disengaged and lurking instead of posting. I feel this! I also lurk a lot simply because the toxicity is so strong and it feels a bit like going to an opposition's forum sometimes, when you check out the threads they have about your club. Unfortunately this will only go away (a bit) if we go on a sustained winning run, we saw the same from Arsenal and lots of clubs when they were shit and poorly run for ages. Winning is the best tonic.7 points

It's the media and their agenda again, everything with them is blown way out of proportion for clicks and likes. Even Carragher on MNF had his own agenda and thinks he knows what is going on when he actually knows fuck all, simple as that. The only thing you should believe in the papers is the date7 points -

Buying the best young players, yeah right more than half of these youngsters are pure dross. I said it before and I will continue to say it, buying young talent without experience isn't necessary the problem, quality is the most important which these idiots have completely forgot to take into equation.7 points

Jackson gets too much stick here, take penalties out of the equation, Jackson in his first season scored 14 goals, without penaltys, that's 2 less that isak, 1 more than Salah, 1 more than cole Palmer,4 more than Saka and only 6 less than Haaland, not a bad first season at all.7 points -

Like connor or not, this is a boy who's been here all his days, who loves the club and is being treated like absolute shit. Fans like you do not represent how most match going fans feel and never will. It's a disgrace the boys being treated like this but at least he'll go somewhere where he'll maybe be appreciated and the keyboard warriors will be happy. Clubs a joke7 points -

Best CB Chalobah? 🤣 Of 51 games in the season he started just 13. So basically played just 25% of the games. In those 13 games we conceded 17 goals and had just 3 clean sheets. Against City and Liverpool he was introduced from the bench with 20 and 8 mins and we conceded only when he stepped on the pitch. Was never more than 4th or 5th option. Tomori and Guehi also academy players are like 5 times better players and nobody cares about them and btw I don't think they are good enough either. Crazy what some fans are doing. Probably same people who were crying for months about possibility of Mount leaving.7 points

Despite the result, I think he was really quite good today. Calm on the ball and did what was asked of him in defence. Promising start to his premier league career... Hope to see a lot more from him. If we are back to Disassi or Tosin next match I might lose my mind.6 points -

Crazy how 1 “bad” result (were people actually expecting us to beat the champions?) can send some of you into a depression. I’m still very encouraged and looking forward to watching us again. I think the ideas and tactics are evident and some of the buildup play was fantastic yesterday. I’ve watched back a bunch of it and the way we carved through the best team in the world quite a few times from the base of midfield all the way to the final third was lovely. I think that with a top class #9 and a little bit of time we’ll be just fine and well in play for a top 4 finish.6 points

This whole Gallagher thing is fucking rotten by the way, poor cunt sat in Madrid waiting around for days on end to be then flown back because they can't agree terms etc and now to banish him to what will be the under 23's is fucking classless shit of the highest order. This club stinks6 points -

I disagree. He created one big chance his entire time here (for context Lewis Hall created more at Old Trafford alone) and in 15 of 20 games he registered 0.00 xA and < 0.5 xG. Then there's his off the ball workrate which is next to non existent and that is a huge problem in a system like Maresca's, especially when we already have to find a way to somewhat compensate for Nkunku and Palmer off the ball (who look like Kante and Essien workrate wise compared to Felix). I don't have any specific dislike for the guy, unless I've missed something he conducted himself perfectly fine while he was here and quite evidently grew to love the club but I don't think even the idea of him would mesh well with the current profiles we have, let alone the flattered to decieve version you get with him 9 times out of 10.6 points

Jesus grow up. He didn’t try to destroy anything. Swear some of you are fucking clueless. Oh FFS you again with more bullshit. Theres a surprise. Calling out racism/bigotry/homophobia etc is much much bigger than the club is or ever will be. Or the sport as a whole itself. Everyone’s entitled to their stance and if Fofana wants to put it on social media and call it out why shouldn’t he? Fair play to him, call it as you see it. If people don’t speak up and pretend as if everything is ok, nothing will change. Change doesn’t happen behind closed doors. Look at the media frenzy this has caused and the pressure that will be put on the clubs, FIFA, the FA etc to actually do something meaningful to try prevent this level of moronic and racist shit happening again. In this day and age you get what you deserve. And anyway, if Fofana should be thinking of Chelsea whilst calling it out, shouldn’t Enzo be thinking of Chelsea before even chanting such a chant and plastering it on his social media to the millions of followers he will have? Your logic is beyond me, thicker than a submarine’s door.6 points -

This delusional obsession with playing possession based control football was already annoying under Roman . No team in the world can play the same way every game. Least of all our team. They tried it first half of the season and we lost most matches to teams just parking the bus. The players we have are suited to press teams and play on the break with their pace, which they did successfully towards the end of the season. Most players don’t have half a brain and could only dream of cutting through packed defenses. These players have been picked by the very same half-wits who now demand possession football. It would be funny how incompetent Eghbali and Clownlake are if it wasn’t this frustrating.6 points -

Performance and result was basically what should be expected against a league two side. But take a step back and just look at what is hands down our 2nd string lineup with a couple of C listers in there as well. The squad we have is absolutely insane. Yes we spend about 600m too much and still need a proper CB, a wc gk and possibly a DM and RB backup if injuries continue like this but still... without even tapping into like 12 of our regulars we are able to field that quarter billion pounds offense vs fkin Barrow. More importantly, they appear to be happy to do the job. In that infamous interview KDB said he had already mentally packed his bags when Mourinho played him vs Swindon. Now we have the 2nd most expensive teenage signing in football history casually chip-assisting a prime Bundesliga allstar vs a 4th tier side and actually enjoying it. Credit has to go to Maresca for managing such a big squad full of expensive signings and making them look like something resembling a proper team in a few short weeks.5 points -

Exactly the same things have been said about Solanke when he was at Chelsea and Liverpool. He ultimately exploded last season, Spurs have now taken the risk, but it's still unsure wheter he can maintain that level or back to mediocrity. Difference between top players and Championship-level players is very small actually. There are hundreds or greatly talented players with insane potential around, but ability of making quick and good decisions and putting up with stress at the highest level makes the difference, as well as showing flexibility and responding positively to change(new coach, new system etc.) Mudryk clearly is talented and quick AF but it is also clear he is lacking confidence very much and seems unable to adapt, evolve. Just look at Madueke, they arrived at the same time, he hardly got any chances at the beginning, but one can see he believes in himself and always trying to impress, even it means he seems selfish and wasteful at times. He improved a lot and he definetly improved his position in the squad in the last 18 months, while Mudry going deeper and deeper. Noni always asking for the ball and looking to score goals, Mudryk is hiding behind defenders not to receive the ball and making safe passes not to embarrass himself. This behaviour on the pitch is not taking him anywhere. Imo, Mudryk definetly needs a loan to a team where he can be the star player, run the show and enjoy himself, things which he clearly doesn't at Chelsea. I have doubts wheter he is capable to turn things around at this point. I want to say I am cheering for him, but for me he is not a likeable charachter at all.5 points -

not some, most will come to nothing The good ones would make up for all the failed ones only if we acquired them at decent prices as clubs like Dortmund or RB do. But we pay outrageous fees and still have a lower hit ratio then them. This whole strategy will definitely backfire economically5 points -

Good point but for me Jackson’s number of goals is not the problem. His number of misses on big ocassions and in pivotal moments of narrow games are. But such a mental blockage can probably be worked on. He has all the tools to become a top striker but I doubt it will happen over night so he will continue to cause frustration. on a different note I am sure Guiu will be loaned out if we sign Omrodian. Simply bc of the fee the latter will be given a shot first.5 points -

we need 4 players GK (we should be all over Mamardashvili like a rash, Valencia's asking price is £33.5m) CB (2 if we sell 2) I listed the best 10 left on the market right above LWer (right footed) Doue for me CF J David is so affordable and the lad is a couple of goals or asissts away (he is sitting on 149 goals, 49 asissts) from 200 topflight toal goals produced for club and country, and is only 24yo5 points
