TBF, the performance against Burnley was quite similar to the one we had against Hull at the Bridge last season. And Mourinho's comments after the game was very similar, if not identical to this post-Burnley one. Doesn't really mean much IMO.

Yeah...guess it depends a lot on how our defense holds it together in the coming months. If having Matic and Fabregas to control the midfield isn't sufficient to play with a lower block (as Mourinho calls it), then we can expect more changes in that back 4.

Within a season of returning we have solved a lot of our problems that have plagued us for years.

Don't get me wrong the board deserve great credit for there work in making it happen but Jose surely played a part in really pushing for the reinforcements and changes that were so desperately needed.

Looking back at our squad in 12-13 compared to now is unreal (won't even bother comparing 11-12 squad, the more I look at it the more I wonder how the fuck we pulled the CL off), holes in centre midfield, no top class striker, no real depth in attacking midfield, Ross Turnbull as back up keeper.

That's why Jose us simply the best, Wenger for example has left key areas unfixed so many times, whereas within a year Jose has sown up so many weaknesses we had previous.

But like I said the board deserve there dues for pulling it off to, to go from the shit we were in at the start of 2012 (let's be honest things looked dire and if it weren't for the Munich miracle we would still be at an early stage of recovery, it's understated just how vital that win was, it meant so much more beyond lifting the trophy, the consequences of losing would have been 100 times worse than Moscow) to a position were we could have another sustained spell of trophies in two and a half years with a healthy net spend is just unbelievable.

Just think how much shit we looked in 2 and a half years ago, ageing squad, no one we could really sell, FFP looming, us looking like we were heading to channel 5.

Hopefully lessons are learned this time, that being keep evolving when your on top because no matter how perfect the squad looks, there's always ways to improve further, next time we probably won't get a CL to speed up our recovery.

I honestly believe Munich was our Abramovich moment all over again. Sure it wasn't that dire but without the CL in 12-13 we were going the Liverpool way. No world class players would've arrived, we'd have resorted to signing more duds like Marin and no decent manager would've touched us. Munich was a gamechanger ... it secured our status as a top club.

Mourinho has no excuses now. He's got everything he's asked for, the squad's been moulded as per his wish and he has re-acclimatised to England. 4 years is too long without the league for Chelsea.

Well I was saying pre match that our defense is shaky.

This is just a sign of how shaky it can be at times.

While entertainment I still prefer a very tactical discipline display then being all over the map.

This game had shown why Mou wanted Benatia. But we have 6 month to assess our current cbs and maybe make an addition in January. defenders usually have not that high expecations on them hence have more time to click than e.g. strikers. That is also probably why Mou has left luis out of the squad for the first 2 games.

I trust JOse to make the right choice with few quality Cbs available

We should cherish this game, likely the last time we score over 5 goals for a long time to come now. Next time we go 2-0 up expect us to be a lot more laid back like at Burnley 2nd half. Having said that, what a great game it was.

Either way it is clear now, title or it will be a disappointing season. WE CAN DO IT! KTBFFH
