  1. We are privileged to have had him in our team, especially for such long time. Club was in terrible condition(lol) when he joined, he was for free and 36 already.. Everyone thought, maybe one or two seasons. Four is beyond all expectations, as well as CL/CWC/ESC titles. In his prime years, he was one of the top CB-s in the world, and even at late stage in his carreer he showed how permanent class is. His spell was not a flawless fairy tale, but I'm still happy we did not miss out on him. Defense in this season has been a mess, he received plenty of criticizm. Partly they were fair, he got tired indeed, body and mind I think. But still it's been a huge boost having him in the squad when having so many injury issues.

  2. It is funny before the incident even happened at the end I had already posted my thoughts about VAR: needs to be abolished, imo. I've honestly not enjoyed the game in the same way since it was introduced. I just feel numb, watching goals go in and wondering if it is really a goal, waiting at least a minute after (often several) to understand if it is a real goal. And by then the high has mostly gone. I really wish we would eradicate it or heavily limit its usage. I am in favour of perhaps using it for reviewing incidents of reckless / dangerous foul play. Other than that I don't really want it in our game. Even the offside stuff takes too long and kills the enjoyment. Just leave it to the people on the ground, yes they'll make mistakes, but we can actually enjoy the game moment by moment again.

  3. English var has become a joke. Everyone else has learned it except in England. I watch tons of matches.

  4. When we have players like Disasi, Mudryk and Caicedo starting regularly, we have much bigger problems than Jackson. For me, Jackson, as Cole says, just needs to get a little more confidence and sort his feet out. For me people are getting too caught up with the finishing. Nico has improved quite a lot with his hold up play and off the ball runs. The chances he got against City last week were a lot down to his own hold-up play/off the ball running. He wasn't doing that at the start of the season - particularly the hold-up play. I am not saying he will be great or even good enough long term, however at least we have have actually seen improvements in his game this season and he hasn't even been as bad as some of the other players I have mentioned above. Lastly, he has only had two pro seasons playing in the most difficult position on the pitch. If anyone of the 'project' players we've got deserves some slack, it is him.

Good to hear that he won't close his chapter with Chelsea completely, despite the impending departure. He will always be welcome at the club.

I was hoping he would stay and be a player/coach, and eventually transition to a coach.

  7. The PGMOL say that VAR is not there to re-referee games, yet that is exactly what it is doing. In the Villa game the Ref was looking straight at the incident when Badiashille challenged the Villa defender and saw nothing wrong with it......there are challenges like that 100s of times in every game that are not deemed fouls....yet VAR flags this one up.... and once that twat goes to look at the monitor you know we are f**ked. We have had far worse challenges on our players not given as penalties....Gallagher @ Anfield....as they are deemed not to meet the threshold for a foul. It is time we followed the Swedes and binned VAR

  8. If that was a foul, then every 50 50 header should be a foul, Kavanagh can go and fuck himself stick the VAR camera up his arse All MOTD pundits say No Foul

  11. We just want to see a fight from players, work your arse off and don't chuck the toys out the pram if things don't go your way. The problem lately we have bought mentally weak players that are far too raw coming into the most intense league in the world and yet a lot cower like babies

  18. How long before that ref shaves his head bald like all the other fucking illuminati initiated fraud refs? Absolutely pathetic this VAR bullshit. 🖕 If that was a foul, then just scrap football altogether if NO contact at all is allowed, we don't need this new pussy ass "sport"... but I suspect this rule applies only to CFC. 🖕

  20. You only have to see the comments on our game yesterday from Villa fans alone to know we got robbed. There own fans have said the decision was poor and compare the upvotes to the downvotes. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68862601 Look at Trossard's goal against Wolves last week. Wolves wanted a foul as Jesus nudged player in the back, however as foul was not given in normal time, VAR did not intervene which is correct. Same should have been done yesterday. This VAR is total bullshit. Not a fan of it. I feel the people sitting in their little lobby making decisions have their own agenda. Does that goal get ruled out if it is the other way? Never... Don't really trust the lines thing as well. Think it is too inconsistent and on another day that Jackson offside is ruled on side. We did well in circumstances to get a point with injuries and lack of options on bench and against a team who had a whole week's rest but annoyingly feels like a loss after being robbed from the fraud of VAR team.

  25. Can understand why they disallowed it for the foul, trouble is, in most, that happens in every box during most corners. In most goals on set pieces you'll find someone fouling someone somewhere in each slow replay. Good performance, I'd of taken a draw pre match. Shame we haven't got a LW youngster to sub off Murdryk earlier.

  28. Yup and I reckon the missing variable in their equation is "time." What do we do while these players develop? Watch grass grow? 😃 Players blossom at different times in their careers -- there is no guarantee these youngster will get anywhere near their peaks in 2-3 years from now. Take Solanke as an example. He's playing well now at 26!

  29. And I thought the whole point was to win silverware... silly me. Suppose Chelsea FC is now an expensive "Football Manager in Real Life" experiment. It's going to look really stupid when the successful experiments (actual WC players) demand to leave at some point--which is what players always do. Real Madrid will thank us for all our efforts and gladly take these players off our hands.

  33. That's why this whole 'build for the future' argument is so speculative. It might pay off, it certainly will raise the resale value of the entire squad, but it doesn't necessarily amount to the trophies. AKA, Wenger's Arsenal. But hey, maybe some fans like that. Basically enjoy the process, not the end results.

    8. Enzo Fernandez

Caicedo was the big mistake because he has very little talent and 0 attributes/ scope for improvement. lavia has ability and good potential so it made sense. ^^pahlinha for sure would have been excellent , unfortunately too old for the owners. Edson Alvarez or zubimendi might have worked better too Caicedo signing has set us back many years unless we can offload him , will be a huge liability going forward and you can’t afford to have a rubbish midfield if you want to win anything

    8. Enzo Fernandez

Enzo is not in that category. Not even close. He showed his qualities here for example in through balls he is top5 in the league with Odegaard, Paqueta, Palmer and Bruno. Having 2 in top5 is great and something promising to build on. KDB and Bruno dominated this stats for years. Also with 7 goals this season he showed he could potentially become that double digits MFer we miss since Lamps. Like said already million times put typical DM like Rodri behind him and Gallagher that's a completely different team and would unlock them.

    Chelsea Transfers

But this isn’t Crystal Palace , we can’t just have passion merchants who charge around for 90 minutes. there need to be a high minimum standard for technical ability if you want to play for Chelsea. The likes of Caicedo Gallagher and disasi should be playing hoof ball for stoke we need a Manager like Xavi who will demand this and not put up with heavy touch donkeys

  42. Chelsea is a big club by any measure you use, esp valuation. Big clubs don't develop a lot of players in the senior squad; they buy them and win silverware. Even today our spending is at the top amongst all clubs, so I have a hard time with the argument of developing a full squad of expensive nobodies for 2-3 years is the way to go. We are the only big club doing this, which is really odd to say the least. Quoting @lucio "every donkey was young once." so we don't really know which of these players will become good, great, passable, or really not good enough and we will only find out in time. I totally get placing a few bets, esp in attack/striker where acquiring established talent is so hard, but doing so for the entire team at a club like Chelsea is really unheard of. I'm going to emphasize that I don't even think Jackson is the problem, but the lack of options around him, and for him. Had Kai stayed for example, we'd have Jackson and him to rotate, or play alongside depending on what you'd need for specific situations. Poor planning left us with only jackson, which considering the amount of money spent is pretty bizarre. I will also emphasize that the point here *is* to win silverware and not develop players that will become great and move to real madrid in 3 years time.

  43. I've found out it doesn't matter who we get, because most Chelsea fans are spoilt brats who will slag any player as not good enough if we aren't winning titles that year.

  44. Feel like the Liverpool players have checked out already and I'd be surprised if they don't make a number of changes to their starting XI heading into next season with Edwards back at the helm. The performance against Atalanta said it all. Might be the same case for our players after doing the hard work vs City in the cup but not getting the result due to finishing...

  45. The 6-0 just made this lot feel like they were kings, the loss to Arsenal should bring them back down to earth, could of easily been 7-0 to them on another day.

  46. I like Motta and Xavi on that list. I am also a huge fan of Sebastian Hoeneß, who has significantly elavated Stuttgart. Some here were quite vocal about wanting to keep Poch a few days ago, but come on. Poch is potter minus Palmer.

    8. Enzo Fernandez

Agreed he has had a dreadful season, compared to the standard we were expecting at least. It is said though that he has a hernia problem and has been having injections before the games because the pain is so bad, and has been contemplating having surgery to get it sorted properly. If that is true then I would tell the lad at this point to just get it done and be ready for next year, and hope that was a large part of his decline from the player we bought. I also think he has been misused and that ended up impacting his confidence, but that was partly his own fault as he actually asked to be used like that and said he could play further forward and contribute goals.
