  3. First of all, Nicolas Jackson is outscoring Lukaku in the league over the last couple of seasons, and is already 10x the footballer with the ball at his feet. And he's like 10 years younger. He makes better runs and plays more intelligently. This would be a horrendous downgrade, of the worst kind, and the exact kind of signing that old-Chelsea was famous for. All of this is irrelevant given that he is toxic and would break the dressing room, and make interviews speaking out against the club, the manager, his fellow players, and whoever else he feels like. All while pining for a return to Inter, or a move to Juventus, or perhaps he will announce that actually he has unfinished business at Manchester United. I cannot imagine a worse signing for the summer transfer window than Romelu Lukaku, and by the same thought process the fact that he currently is on our books makes no difference: the priority remains to get rid of him, and he is only still HERE because no one wants him ffs.

    Aston Villa 2-2 Chelsea

It is funny before the incident even happened at the end I had already posted my thoughts about VAR: needs to be abolished, imo. I've honestly not enjoyed the game in the same way since it was introduced. I just feel numb, watching goals go in and wondering if it is really a goal, waiting at least a minute after (often several) to understand if it is a real goal. And by then the high has mostly gone. I really wish we would eradicate it or heavily limit its usage. I am in favour of perhaps using it for reviewing incidents of reckless / dangerous foul play. Other than that I don't really want it in our game. Even the offside stuff takes too long and kills the enjoyment. Just leave it to the people on the ground, yes they'll make mistakes, but we can actually enjoy the game moment by moment again.

  5. What are you talking about? Today Enzo, Gallagher and Palmer all created easy chances for him and he missed them all. He is solo reason why we didn't win this comfy. He doesn't deserve to play for Chelsea and doesn't deserve our support.

  6. That penalty fight is the most embarrassing shit I've ever seen. Bench Noni and Jackson a couple games 2 clowns.

  7. Poch is enraged at the fighting over the pen, he is saying Cole is THE pen taker, and only if he wants to let someone else take one should he not be taking the pens

  10. 🤣. Yeah, Palace are going to agree to taking on Sterling's £300k a week. I quite like Olise but the issue is that if we need another winger it will be a LW and he wants to play in similar positions to Cole. If we want someone from Palace, Eze looks a better fit for the squad as I actually think he has the slightly better feet; although Olise is a more explosive/physical player which means he has a higher ceiling if he can bring it all together consistently.

I'm not sure about that, I remember when mudryk came on against Liverpool I believe and his first touch and dribbling were excellent, mudryk has no confidence ATM and poch keeps playing him and you can see game by game he's getting better.

  14. Again - saying things. I've said he isn't the problem, has done well enough, and has continually improved. Not giving a 22 year old in his 2nd pro season a chance to get better - literally the shit our fans have gone ape shit at management for. If you can't see there is potential for a phenomenal player in Jackson given his improvement and how little pro football he has, you're a numpty straight up. This isn't me tooting my own horn as some scout, because I'm as good as the next clueless fan - but spoilt bratty Chelsea fans like yourself know even less.

  15. We are privileged to have had him in our team, especially for such long time. Club was in terrible condition(lol) when he joined, he was for free and 36 already.. Everyone thought, maybe one or two seasons. Four is beyond all expectations, as well as CL/CWC/ESC titles. In his prime years, he was one of the top CB-s in the world, and even at late stage in his carreer he showed how permanent class is. His spell was not a flawless fairy tale, but I'm still happy we did not miss out on him. Defense in this season has been a mess, he received plenty of criticizm. Partly they were fair, he got tired indeed, body and mind I think. But still it's been a huge boost having him in the squad when having so many injury issues.

  17. When we have players like Disasi, Mudryk and Caicedo starting regularly, we have much bigger problems than Jackson. For me, Jackson, as Cole says, just needs to get a little more confidence and sort his feet out. For me people are getting too caught up with the finishing. Nico has improved quite a lot with his hold up play and off the ball runs. The chances he got against City last week were a lot down to his own hold-up play/off the ball running. He wasn't doing that at the start of the season - particularly the hold-up play. I am not saying he will be great or even good enough long term, however at least we have have actually seen improvements in his game this season and he hasn't even been as bad as some of the other players I have mentioned above. Lastly, he has only had two pro seasons playing in the most difficult position on the pitch. If anyone of the 'project' players we've got deserves some slack, it is him.

  18. After the antics he was trying to pull on the pitch vs Everton, do you really blame the fans? We really went from the likes of Drogba/Anelka/Diego Costa to the experienced Giroud to the inexperienced Jackson up front. No wonder why we are literally mid-table, we keep signing mid-table players. You think any of the top 6 would have Jackson/Mudryk/Madueke in their starting XI week in week out? They would all be bench players at best.

  19. The immaturity on show in that penalty spat highlights exactly what is wrong with this group of players and why they fold in so many key moments. I can often forgive lack of quality when you give it all for the team which. Jackson and madurke have often enough put in the yards but playing for the team is also about putting it first, being disciplined when it counts. Yesterday it didn’t count that much in the moment but it shines a bad light on our leadership. When Gallagher is the only one to step in after it went on for seconds there is something wrong with the character of team as well as the authority of the coach.

  23. To all those of us pushing for Poch to go, I would just say “Be careful what you wish for !!”. He wasn’t responsible for 90% of the bang average players we signed and unlike the Potter reign, many ( not all) have grown under his coaching - Madueke ,Conor,Cole,Jackson to name but 4. The constant change of coach will continue to get us nowhere. Poch should be told now publicly that his job is safe, before he tells us where to stick it !!

  24. Yup biggest clubs are all going for these types -- extremely high ceiling and super young: more of a gamble with a much larger payoff. Estevao isn't that much of a wait, at least not until he joins. He's just turned 17, so he will ready to join next year in the summer. I hope we have built something a bit more stable by then.

    11. Noni Madueke

I agree. The process makes sense when you see Noni's progression this season. However, to be fair you could probably add Gusto and Jackson to that list. Although I know Jackson divides option, I am so impressed with the development of his hold up play this season which is about 10x better than it was in August. Honestly - I know I am getting off topic here - but I feel he (Jackson) is a bit of an Andy Cole player where he seems to miss everything then becomes incredibly effective, even if you cannot tell exactly why he is so effective. This is also coming from someone who said he was a new 'Kalou' in the Summer.

  26. Kante could break lines with his running and his passing was underrated, even if it wasn't great. Another issue is that Kante was a very 'clean' tackler and never really went to ground to win the ball. Caicedo on the other hand tackles in a clumsy way - in which he ends up giving away silly fouls/leaving 'one' on a player too often and goes to ground too often - however to be fair to him he has actually got better with not having to go to ground to win the ball back - which is actually to do with positional play more than anything else.

  27. Lmao never change TalkChelsea never change. You’d think Caicedo was fucking Bakayoko with the way some members speak about him. 😂 Christ almighty he’s more than fine on the ball. This game alone I saw Caicedo drop the shoulder and send Paqueta back to Brazil and dribble past the entire west ham midfield. As far as through balls/xT are concerned, either you are pretending to not see them to suit your agenda or you’re blind as a bat.

  31. See, that is where I disagree. I looked at Caicedo closely last season, especially in Brighton's big games. Last season against Arsenal, he played this hybrid role between RB and DM and he was absolutely fantastic. I remember thinking, this guy is a total baller. They had so many standouts that game but he impressed me the most. They had a game against United last season in the FA Cup which United luckily sneaked through and again thought he completely controlled the game. He might of had one little mistake, but other than that he was brilliant. Then under Potter the season before last, they beat United 4-0. Caicedo probably was 19/20 then. It was a 5.30 game I think. Two now Chelsea boys were on the scoresheet but Caicedo ran the show. Scored in that game too. The potential was clear. As well as being an enforcer, he also dictated the tempo of the game. You only need to see the match report to see why he got MOTM and the stats: https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11661/12606328/brighton-4-0-manchester-united-visitors-worst-premier-league-season-confirmed-after-amex-thrashing ⭐️ Man of the Match, @OfficialBHAFC’s Moises Caicedo 🇪🇨 48 touches 31/34 passes completed 5/8 duels won 2 shots, 1 on target Club’s 3rd youngest PL scorer 7th Ecuadorian to score in PL pic.twitter.com/assErDDUZQ — Sky Sports Statto (@SkySportsStatto) May 7, 2022 My point being is clear, let him settle, give him time and get the team to understand the system properly, he will cook. He is able to control games which he did several times at Brighton. If anything, it was when we went to possession football, when Kante sometimes did not look as effective and I thought sometimes especially against teams with low block, I preferred seeing Jorginho and Kovacic together.

  37. The PGMOL say that VAR is not there to re-referee games, yet that is exactly what it is doing. In the Villa game the Ref was looking straight at the incident when Badiashille challenged the Villa defender and saw nothing wrong with it......there are challenges like that 100s of times in every game that are not deemed fouls....yet VAR flags this one up.... and once that twat goes to look at the monitor you know we are f**ked. We have had far worse challenges on our players not given as penalties....Gallagher @ Anfield....as they are deemed not to meet the threshold for a foul. It is time we followed the Swedes and binned VAR

  38. If that was a foul, then every 50 50 header should be a foul, Kavanagh can go and fuck himself stick the VAR camera up his arse All MOTD pundits say No Foul

  41. Great win that, nothing much more to say about Palmer, he's just elite level. The fight was a joke, embarrassing really- only dark cloud on a very very good night Nice to see Poch flinging verbal punches and getting angry with some of this lot, he's too nice and need more of that

  43. Yeah - he's clearly reached snapping point. We need to be a team not a bunch of egos. Can't win anything unless everyone is pulling together in the same direction.

  44. Yup - there is hope. Jackson shows there's not massive harmony in the team - shame, as if we had that - could be the makings of a great side. Need to lose the egos and play as a team.
