I've read that Delap has got a £20 million buy back clause with City. If so, offer Ipswich the chance to double their money with a £40 million bid. If I remember correctly, we did something similar with Kante. He had a release clause for Champions League clubs, Chelsea offered more than that release (they didn't qualify for the Champions League that year), to stop him going to elsewhere and to ensure that Leicester were motivated to sell.By JFKvsNixon

Tbf to Klopp, Slot did inherit his whole squad and people seem to forget, it was also in the title race last season until the last month. With Arsenal and City struggling this season, by default they are top. I think they only bought Chiesea for some reason and there are talks he will already be loaned out in January.

That opener was again a new kind of goal he did not have in his locker previously. Finally his tenacity and workrate, which he always had, directly resulted in an emphatic finish. Granted, faes is a liability of a defender (massive downgrade from Fofana which is saying something) who will often give you these openings whenever he is not busy scoring owngoals, but Nic was sharp enough to exploit it. Very good performances overall. Badi and Felix did great considering that these were first prem starts. Sanchez didn't have a save to make until the penalty, which to be fair he almost got to. All the nervy moments came from fast breaks as Caicedo was left to cover half of the pitch and the man himself in goal. He really cant have a quiet game. 2-3 blunders every single fixture. Made some excellent saves, but erratic way too often. Hope Penders turns out to be brilliant. Don't believe in anyone

Yet another opening goal. Starting to use his power and strength to bully players, while his technique is still improving. Starting to become indispensable. Hope that the club don't decide to start playing Championship Manager and buy another CF (especially VO of all people) to block his progression. Bad look on Klopp if Slot is 1/1 after him being 1/8. But I can easily see them losing points in any of the next 3 games so this is our chance to come closer.

Agreed. Unless it's a striker outputting crazy numbers like Gyokeres, I wouldn't be happy to see us spend such a large amount on an unproven player. Not when Jackson is still capable of delivering. If someone has to come in, it has to be a clear upgrade. And enough of the obsession with overpaying for Brighton products.By Blue Armour
