Buying Lukaku for over £100m and then seeing Haaland go to United/Liverpool/City next summer for 60 or 70 would be terrible.

Inter and Rom are both firmly saying it won’t happen but I find it extremely hard to believe that if we plopped £100m on the table 1) Inter would turn down such money and 2) that Lukaku would say no to the club he used to love showing that they’re willing to break the bank for him.

So what to do….spend £100m on Rom now or wait it out, pray to God that Havertz and Werner drastically improve, and then pray even harder that Haaland chooses us next summer?

That's it and be so predictable for it to end that way and be kicking ourselves

lol i love the kid, but if this is the level Chelsea end up at for a new striker...  At least he's better at pens that Jorginho. I give it about 1% of being true.

Jorginho has a 85% penalty success rate counting his record at club and country. Higher than Ronaldo, Messi, Suarez, Neymar, Muller, Salah, etc. Only notable guys higher Ibra and maybe Hazard. Not sure on Hazard but he had higher percentage going back a few years.

Jorginho is statistically one of the best pen takers in the world.

If we buy Lukaku for £100m, I don't ever want to hear again that Summer 2017 was on Conte when since then we have brought Kepa for £72m and then potentially doing this.

Ironically Conte wanted Lukaku 🤣

What the hell? How come we've made two bids for Lukaku but we haven't made a single bid for Haaland? Very confusing stuff

There is a huge week in front of us. It's make or break for Marina and the board.

Yeah, but the club gave him Morata instead. Kind of sums up why I find it amazing so many people think Conte was directing the transfers. Personally, Lukaku in Conte's counter attack system makes sense, in Tuchel's counter attacker/high press one it makes no sense.

A player like Lukaku would force his way into the starting XI (esp at this price tag), which would disrupt the system that should be improved upon, not undone.

Unless we get Haaland, who just fits in any system because he's got everything in his game, I'd rather go with a younger FW hungry for success... similar to the current squad.
