Matt Law report

- Sacking is not based purely on results or Chelsea’s poor start to the season.

- Sources say Tuchel lost the faith of players, who were surprised to be played out of position, left out

- Anthony Barry is likely to take temporary charge

- Apart from Potter, club looking at Mauricio Pochettino, Zinedine Zidane and Benfica manager Roger Schmidt

Holy fucking shit. I thought with 100% certainty that Boehly would give him every possible chance to turn the ship around. That he would only act if we were in danger towards the midway point of the season or something. I myself was admittedly turning on him but never thought it would happen this quickly. We’ve just given him a record transfer window and his hand picked striker just arrived days ago specifically to play for him.

I actually feel terrible for TT since the plan as recently as a few weeks ago was for him to be here for years. Boehly couldn’t help enough praise on him as he guided the club through the chaos of last year.

I just hope we appoint a coach who is obsessively good at coaching attacking football as Pep, Klopp, and even Arteta is now. We have the talent.

This is a colossal mistake. Absolutely colossal. After so much talk of building long term with and having absolute faith in Tuchel, Todd Boehly’s basically shat the bed and underperforming mediocre and inconsistent players have basically sealed the fate of another manager.

Potter, Poch, Zidane or Rodger Schmit? Are the club for real 😂 Perhaps Potters up and coming yes but if anyone thinks he is going to come in and do a good job here straight away then they are dreaming. The expectations at Brighton and here are so different. Plus hes been allowed to shape his squad over the last 3 seasons. He clearly wont get that time here if this is anything to go on.

Todd Boehly again will be painted negatively in the press, more so after the whole “buying every player” narrative this summer but deservedly so this time because this is clearly the decision of a man who has no real footballing advisors around him. This is a knee jerk move. Not even Roman would of pulled the trigger this early into a season.

I also doubt Potter abandons his squad now that we’re into the season and they’ve started extremely well.

Think it’s almost certainly going to be Poch. Experience at big clubs, experience with the 3 at the back system, a personality that wouldn’t grate or agitate these spoilt divas we clearly have in the dressing room.

- Initially Boehly-Eghbali wanted to back Tuchel. But over the summer, communication dried up, doubts over whether Tuchel can be long-term had appeared

- Tuchel admitted he did not enjoy recruitment role. Boehly-Eghbali did the heavy lifting in the summer

- Tuchel's preferance to be left to work and solve problems on his own, along with his close circle of coaches, is not in line with the inclusive approach of Boehly and Eghbali.

- Boehly’s interest in signing Cristiano Ronaldo : The American reluctant to simply take “no” for an answer from Tuchel, who, according to sources, seemed exasperated at having to explain his reasons for not wanting the Portuguese.

- Privately, Tuchel's attitude and demeanour raised serious doubts. This was his undoing more than results

- Owners wanted a new culture around the club and decided Tuchel is not the man for it. They wanted coach to be more communicative, involved in club projects like hiring the new sporting director

- They want a coach who they feel comfortable bouncing ideas off and peppering with questions, even some that may seem tiresome to those with more football experience.

Colossal mistake?  It was the correct decision. You just have to look at the trajectory of the club this season and you can foresee how calamitous this season would've ended up, it would've been on par with 15/16 but the only difference here is that Boehly decided to be proactive rather than allow a sinking ship sink any further.

Look at all our games. West Ham at home should've been a draw if it wasn't for a dodgy decision. Got spanked by Leeds away, lost to a very poor Soton side away, lost to a Croatian side in the CL and played very poorly against Leicester and Everton, yet somehow came away with 3 pts. The only game this season where we looked great was against Spurs. If Tuchel carried on, this season would've been another write-off with so many new players.  The risk was way too big for Boehly.
