Edinson Cavani

Yes, the whole story it is just one sadness.

Now, Cavani wants to talk to the owner face to face, I read.

At the end, Napoli just might have a disgruntled player on their hands.

Whatever happens here, be it. Just one thing I know, Chelsea should never pay 53m for him.

Napoli actually want to sell. They have a very big project in mind which'll take loads of funding which they'd like to do through player-sales. They've already spent half the Lavezzi money on players and pre-agreements etc. If his clause runs out they'll become desperate I feel and accept a much lower fee than his current release clause. They won't start demanding more money than what any club is even willing to pay for him at the moment.

They've got a great poker face don't they.

Edinson Cavani has voiced his dismay with Napoli boss Aurelio De Laurentiis' latest comments about the prolific attacker's future and has demanded showdown talks with the flamboyant club president.

De Laurentiis jokingly said that he "would smash Cavani's head in" if he had not made a decision about his future yet when he returns to the club on July 20, but the 26-year-old is not amused with the Partenopeichief's remarks.

"The quotes by the president were heavy and very strong. I don't like it. I want to talk to him face to face," Cavani told reporters after Sunday night's demolition of minnows Tahiti in the Confederations Cup.

Cavani has caught the attention of clubs such as Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester City and is continually being linked with a move away from Napoli.

De Laurentiis stated last week that a transfer is by no means a certainty, however, as he believes City will have to sell players first before they could afford Cavani's price, while he stated Chelsea have yet to make a formal offer.

In a way I am sad by the news though. Players that are stupid to allow agents manipulate their fee may end up playing for clubs they really did not intend to play for. Falcao comes to my mind, I feel.

I just hope, Chelsea signs somebody else instead of Cavani.

It looks as if we can hold on and not cave to the release clause the clsoer we get to August 10th the less we would have to pay for him as his clause expires on the 11th.. the only issue is that we will be well into our preseason preperations and he won't have a lot of time to gel with the team if he is to come in

He wants 63m in one payment? Idiot. No one is going to get Cavani if that's the case.

I hope there is a fall out between Cavani and De Laurentiis when they meet "face to face" and then we make our move, hoping that prompts Cavani to put in a transfer request!

I am thinking Cavani is actually slowly losing respect for that idiot old man.At first they were friends and really respected each other but now to me it seems that president just using Cavani as a tool and he actually want to sell Cavani. His recent comments look like he is just about to get annoyed with ADL, hopefully after they have met, he will hand in a transfer request and screw that idiot over.

63m in one go, WTF. If Madrid, club that got the largest revenue in the world can't, who the fuck is going to be able to pay it with FFP taking full effect? £20m for 3 years to me seems OK, but wow he wants in 1 FUCKING GO. This greedy bastard deserves bad things this saga will bring to him in the future

@Leif

Hit the nail on the head - it's business first and foremost... ;)

What's this thing on August 10th - his buy out clause expires? If so, then surely that 'weakens' our negotiations? If he has a clause and we match it - personal terms can be discussed without the club being involved...

If his clause expires they could reject a 63million bid, which they would have been forced to accept only 24hrs prior...

Don't think that scenario isn't likely.... You never know with Chairman nowadays... especially Levy...!!!
