Wouldn't be surprised if agents are swaying certain attacking players not to come here. I'm sure players like Lukaku, Ziyech, and Werner don't think very highly of TT's tactics and word can travel. All three players have their flaws but it also doesn't look great when each one was class before coming here. Don't think there's much of a belief Tuchel can elevate an attacking player.

Raphina was worried he might have to play wingback and that's probably one of the reasons why he doesn't want to be here. If he did he would already be ours so I think that's somewhat telling.

Seems like we'll have to overpay and give up some hefty wages to secure some signings but we need them.

De Jong, Sterling, and MDL would be a great summer of business.

But

Ziyech was good in a very well drilled Ajax team but even then their fans said he looses the ball way to often and can go missing in large parts of the season. Similar to what we saw from him.

Werner was flourishing in what can only be called a Sunday pub league with enough space in defences to host Glastonbury each week.

Lukaku.. Well does anything need to be said.. the donkey flopped at United way before leaving to bang goals in an Italian league which even makes Tammy Abraham look class.

All has to be viewed thought the factual lense and if we're honest they were terrible buys looking back on it . We brought these players in to elevate us to the next level when in truth none of then were fit enough to do so.

I agree with you on the later though, FDJ, Sterling and MDL would be a great summer.

FDJ would fit in lovely but the rumours of us going in for him aren't strong enough unfortunately.

Really is not a good look for Boehly if this transfer window ends with Ake over De Ligt, Skriniar, or Koulibaly.

Not a good look at all.

Considering the Ake move, like the majority of the others this window with substance, are being driven more by Tuchel (talk he is a fan and wanted him at Dortmund), I would say any criticism should be pointed more to the manager himself than Boehly, seeing as he is getting the definitive final say.

Maybe it is not a good look for Boehly but if its Ake TT wants then what can he do?

I mean people moaned that we don’t/didn’t back managers, now we are linked with a player TT reportedly wants (I don’t think he’s good enough either as a starter) its a bad look?

I agree with a lot of your reasonings on why those players have failed at Chelsea. I didn't like the Lukaku signing one bit like most of us. He failed in big moments playing in the Prem in the past so why would you sign him for an outrageous fee? For me last season it was Haaland or be patient but they wanted to make a big signing off the Champions league win and it really backfired... When Lukaku did his interview that got him in the doghouse, I kind of believed him when he was told by Tuchel we would play a certain way and ended up playing the same formation week in and week out.

I still think certain attacking players and agents are wary of Tuchel. He doesn't take enough accountability when we fail and we struggled against bottom table teams too often. No adjustments or tinkering was done, basically just swapping out the front three every week was his "solution". Boehly will be looked to if we fail to secure impact signings but he's stated he's given Tuchel money to spend and it's also TT's job to give perspective players belief in Chelsea.

FDJ would flourish in this system...maybe we can sell him the champions league or something. Lol

Have to admit you are right, TT was doing some strange things with his attacking options.. the constant changing of the front 3 was extremely detrimental to our attacking overall. I think it was because he just didn't trust any of them to do their job properly and their inconsistencies ultimately led TT down a path of indecisiveness. I think eventually we should switch back to a 433 to see better results in attack but it's not going to be easy when we have two wingback who when playing together and in form can devastate in their roles.

Regarding Ake - the left-footedness is a big factor. Who else is left-footed, quality and available?

Badiashile, Ndicka, Martinez, Torres, Kimpembe, and maybe Gvardiol (have to pay premium to make Leipzig sell this window).

Apparently because we want a PL proven CB........

That's bullshit....Nathan Ake is gonna be the most underwhelming transfer have ever seen Chelsea do...I hope De Ligt/Kounde get signed before this Ake bullshit...

It's either De Ligt or Kounde, not both because they are right-footed.

Take ake over kounde all day long. Think there is more a stigma with ake because he's already been and gone from here. My concern is more silva and de ligt in the same back 3 not a very pacey back line.
