Makes no sense to pay 85m on CB to play in a system that overlay protects them. If Tuchel going to play with 5 defenders and 2 DMs, seems very pointless.

In the Everton game we were so high up at times one ball over the top had Gray on a dangerous 1 vs 1 with Silva.

There's a difference between being defensive and defending well.

Yup. If we continue with this heavily defensive setups even sub-world class defenders should be fine. They need however be really quick, able to carry the ball, calmunder pressure and make no stupid mistakes. For attackers however we nee dplayers who are used to playing in defensive setups and creating tings on thier own. This is why Sterling and Kai (will) struggle and guys like Chiesa and Neto are on our radar.

I think we should just take any info about De Jong that comes from the Spanish side as bullshit. Way too sensationalist and over the top.

I think what Ornstein reported this morning is the most level headed and believable. His priority and primary desire is to stay at Barca. If he is forced to go he still hasn’t decided where to yet and both United and Chelsea are still options.

Annoyingly, this will probably drag on until the window closes.

This week will be key, we are putting serious pressusre on both Fofana and LC now. If Leicester keep knocking things back WF will crack and hand in a transfer request, especially as they said they would consider big offers for him.

Thought he grew into the game as it went on but this was mostly down to us sitting back a bit. I'll accept him as a backup option if that means we get Fofana.
