Mason Mount

All those stats show is how unbelievably poor our attack has been recently. Mount has suddenly become prime Lampard now that he’s left for United.

Didn’t get mentioned at all the whole of last season how poor Mount was when he played. Now he’s gone and it’s the scandal of the century that we sold him.

Finally we are selling players when they still have high values while clearly being on the decline and/or disinterested. In the past we would have forced the likes of Mount and Havertz to stay until their value plummeted or waited until they went for free. Getting rid of average players for big money can only be commended, now replace them with better players please...

Agree but not sure about Kova - might come to regret him going and missing his work rate - and Citeh got a bargain there

Can't blame him for leaving, it's an absolute shit show at Chelsea and there doesn't seem any clear direction they want to go. Whoever thinks club loyalty or love is still there is delusional, as soon as players can fill their pockets they're gone, it's the reality. And if they do, it's still for their own sake, not for the club.

True, but that's the difference between him and Azpi. Some players only stick around in good times, others remain in their club when winning CL, also when finishing 10th place, still fight for their place.

It's not like Mount was the big fish in small tank anyway.. He was part of the problem, his performances have been dropped for long time.

Also, United also have their shit in their garden.. Releasing player because of prison, kicking out star player for interview with Piers Morgan, replacing coaches, buying and selling many players.

we won an ucl 2 years ago

united have only won one carling cup in the last 6 years and i see them being easily overtaken by liverpool this season

Leaving a club when wehave a bad season straight away also says a lot about mount.

A lot of briefings were given to this media during this PR battle between him and the club. Never was it mentioned that he's leaving because he doesn't believe in the Chelsea project. Only recently there was something among the lines of "Mason thinks United has a bigger chance at winning silverware soon".

Regardless, he was "injured" for most of the later part of the season, the goodbye video was taped at least a month ago, and his father went to games at Old Trafford since last winter. He orchestrated this move very early. No matter how you put it, Mason and his camp put themselves ahead of the club's best interest.

I highly doubt that he "gave it all" during the second part of the last season, at least. It's not even worth it thinking about him anymore. Even if he becomes the new Cristiano Ronaldo, we should have no regrets about selling him, because he wanted to go.

60m, massive wages, #7 shirt. I have no complaints United have gone and spent a majority of their transfer budget on Mason.

one thing to keep in mind is that the £120m allotted for transfers was not counting additional monies spent that were garnered via sales

as the sell more players that £120m pot goes up

they just want to keep it limited to £120m NET new spend
