As far as I'm concerned the board is the main culprit in this case. They let the Jose and the club down during the summer. Of-course he didn't help himself with being such a drama queen all the time but given the team was just a couple of signing away from greatness, the board's sin is much more unforgivable. They fucked us over with their complacency.

As for the next manager, as someone said earlier, anyone except, may be, Guardiola, will be a step down. Such a sad, sad situation we are in.

Capello would be the worst interim manager for Chelsea: plays ugly football, is hated more than Benitez by both Mourinho worshippers and Mourinho haters alike, and is not an entertainer off the pitch.

Imo he is the worst for that. With him £100 ms worth of young players will go down the drain. We talk about ake , solanke ect. But he simply won't play them.

I totally agree with what you say about Jose and our policy of young players. In fact, I can not understand why Jose has not opted for some of our young players. That's being his big mistake.

Players like Ake (mainly) or Bamford could be in our first team. And Ruben Loftus-Cheek should be our main midfielder.

If Jose wants to change this situation, and have the support of the fans, he should bet more on young players and forget the "old school".

Even with bad results we would accept our situation in a better way if it means that we are building a Chelsea for the future.

Perhaps , instead of offering the job to a 'big' name....they could offer it to an up and coming manager who has worked at big clubs and for big names but is now starting to make a name for himself.

With out CL football, we won't be able to attract top players anymore. Any manager who is someone won't be so much interested either. And the media, those fucking vultures, will be all over us for months to come.

As an infrequent poster, long time reader, this current situation makes me have to vent. If my views are agreed with or not, that's fine. It's the time to talk.

First off, I love Jose. His time from 04-07 will always be remembered by Chelsea supporters. Our first league title in 50 years, taking us to new heights in the Champions League and becoming the best team in England. We had the likes of Robben, Duff, J.Cole, Makelele, Lampard, Essien, Carvalho, Cech...I could go on. The only downside, was that it seemed like he was setting us up as a robotic unit, a team who would just not be beat and would win even with an unattractive style. But we didn't care, we won and we dominated.

The second time around? Times are different, but still the same in some way. We're still set up as a robotic unit, no style or flair, just go out to win. We have/had some incredibly talented, skillful players with Hazard, Mata, Oscar, De Bruyne Willian and more. Yet, the tactics aren't to their strengths. Why does Hazard need to track back? His duty and his wages are going to him to create chances, and win the game. Are our defenders not trusted enough to deal with the opposition?

The saddest thing, to me about Jose coming back, is that I don't think he is 'one of us'. He never looks happy, even in his first interview back he didn't break one smile. I can't even remember the last time he celebrated a goal.

The name "Jose Mourinho" has lost it's vigor. When a man deemed the Special One has a season like this one, with seemingly losing the dressing room, something needs to be done.

Chelsea Football Club are no longer feared. Coming to Stamford Bridge would be 'bonus' games for the lesser teams, where if they somehow got a point they would go home delighted. Now, no team is afraid to have a go, and believe they can win.

I would get him out. As well as the supposed player who's said they'd rather lose. Whoever it may be, the club is bigger than both of them combined.

We need a fresh face, someone that you can see cares for the team, the fans and the players. We made a huge mistake by letting Ancelotti go, now Roman use your magic to get him back!

Certainly won't get one of the other big English jobs. Unless he takes a year off and waits for Van Gaal to leave. If PSG fail to win the CL again this season I could see him ending up there. Even though he has talked shit about them and the French league in the past, I think he'd go there since there isn't anyone better.

Anyways, if we get the next hire right it may not matter if we finish in the top 4 in terms of player recruitment. If we appoint Carlo for instance world class players will still want to play for him, CL or no CL. We still pay huge wages, we're still in London, we still have a large array of great players.

Think it would be just like United's summer last year where we can still attract big names but will have to overpay. We'll be able to "sell" to potential signings that this season was a blip and we'll be straight back in the CL.

To be honest, Barcelona changed 5 managers since 2003, yet they managed to win the Uefa Champions League 4 times during this period. Ferguson's Man. United only won it twice in 27 years, right? Nowadays, football is not about long-term anymore. It's about adaptation. If you need to change, you change. The most successful clubs in Europe during the past 25 years or so, changed their managers constantly. Look at Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, FC Barcelona, Juve, Milan, even us. We should stop trying to find the new Ferguson. We need to find stability in ideas, not in people! Again, check out how Barcelona got their stability. It's not about the manager, it's about the academy. And that's only one example.
