It's bullshit. Dembele knows he would be a starter here under TT.

He comes across as a problem child this lad.

Can we really be bothered with him wanting away in a year or two to join PSG or another French club!

Club also seems wary of foreign attackers after seeing Ziyech, Werner, Pulisic go bust in the last few years. Signing Sterling means we have Mount, Gallagher, CHO, Sterling and could field an entirely English attack.

Another thing with Sterling to note is his goals and assists numbers. While I don't think he will reach the same scoring heights at us as he did at City but this is his numbers last 5 seasons in all comps:

17/18: 23 Goals, 17 Assists,  18/19: 25 goals  17 Assists,  19/20: 31 goals  10 Assists,  20/21: 14 goals  12 Assists, 21/22:  17 goals   9 Assists

They are brilliant numbers. For a player who pulls that numbers every season at a team, regardless of their quality, that is impressive. Last season 17 goals is a decent return for him, when you consider the amount of times he was left on the bench. If he had stated more games, he defo would of got near the 30 mark I am sure. Grealish started more games and did not score more than 5 goals right? So I think any deal up to £50m, we should be snapping up. Mane left for Bayern which people are calling a good deal and that deal with bonuses will reach £35m. When you consider that Sterling has 3 years on Mane, I would consider anything up to £50m a good deal for a player who has proven to score, assist and creates numerous amount of pens with his dribbling ability and pace.

Got to say, I'm starting to feel Sterling could actually be a pretty good signing after seeing his stats and watching some recent highlights of him. His sheer pace and agility will stretch defences opening up much needed spaces for others to attack. As said above... he produced 17 goals last season. He is proven in the Prem and with Mount and Gallagher in the team... the English contingency is actually a really good thing for this club. Hmm..  maybe it isn't as bad as initial thoughts would have you believe.

I hope not because that would be dumb. Like any ambitious club CFC need to be wary of attackers who are not up to task. Better judgement is what's required, not a simple passport check: -

  • When some posters pointed to the warning signs that, at his age, Hakim; was playing in Holland, had never achieved high status, and was not highly sought after, many others still believed that we were getting a wonderful player at a great price.
  •  There was plenty of push back when I said that Liverpool's, "We can't afford Timo Werner.", claim was just code for he's not worth the money. The fact that neither they nor Bayern were interested told us a lot but many preferred to believe Liverpool's lie and to get excited about the hype.
  • When I expressed doubts about Pulli caused by the number of times was benched at Dortmund, especially behind Sancho, many put it down to his injury record only. Because some of those were people whose opinions I respect, I was persuaded by that claim too. It wasn't the first time, and it won't be the last, that I was wrong.

I still respect the opinions of those who were as wrong as I was about Pulli. None of us are immune to bad judgement but, as everyone here is only too painfully aware our club has been getting its judgements wrong far too often, for far too long.

What's with the interest in City's backups? Sterling, Jesus and now Ake. Among the three, I think only Sterling is a good deal.

Is sterling back up? Man city rotate that much its hard to know if they are back ups or key players.

The Chelsea of a few years ago would’ve basically bullied Inter into accepting some sort of swap deal. These days we’re so desperate to to offload Lukaku that Inter are basically treating us like their little bitch. They’ve already humiliated us by getting £100m just a year ago for Rom and now again by getting him back for a fraction of that on loan. Now they essentially wag their finger at us and refuse to play ball on any players even though they really need to sell someone.

Whatever, I just hope this anchor is taken off our backs within the next day or two. Before Inter play the ultimate troll card and back out of the deal. Then we’re REALLY fucked.

If City are asking 60M for Sterling, I would rather we go for Rapinha. Possibly also would be on lower wages compared to Sterling if they were to come here.

Not like Raphinha would be cheaper than Sterling, Leeds is asking £60m - £70m. Surprise we haven't linked with Gnabry yet given he only has 1 year left and Bayern apparently only want £34m.
