I do not think he is linking the two. Just saying that Saul is the other deal to watch.

He literally says "CHO situation could change if they get a replacement in" before mentioning Saul, which would suggest he is linking the two together.

Shame he can't reciprocate that dignity that their club apparently has 😂

Coming on here basically demanding more money as if he's a representative of their club.  Bellend.

You're wrong. We prefer that the player stay. The same thing happened in 2007 with Dani Alves. The player stayed and we sold him to Barcelona for almost double. Kounde has a 3-year contract and a renewal offer for 2 more.

How is this stuff left until the very last minute? We’ve known for ages since we let Billy go out on loan that we need another body in midfield. Literally months. The moment Kante was injured and missed the Palace game opening weekend things should’ve been sent into overdrive trying to line up a midfielder. He’s going to continue to pick up niggling injuries.

And it has been reported for weeks that Zouma was off. Why would we okay that sale without having it in writing that Sevilla were okay with the fee?

This is what makes me feel like there’s one last push for Koundé. Otherwise our negotiators will look extremely stupid.

If Kounde dont leave this window then he is a goner soon after, might not be to us but a goner nonetheless.

I know it probably sounds spoiled, entitled, and negative but United finishes ahead of us last season comfortably and have added 3 world class players that go straight into their first XI. And they might not be done yet as they could still sign a midfielder which is the last piece of their puzzle.

How can we possibly only sign 1 player? Especially when Tuchel himself has confirmed multiple times in press conferences that there are a couple of areas he wanted to strengthen.

You have to take into context that we brought six players in last summer all of whom could make a case for starting in our team and regardless are all very important players in the squad. I think all of them have or will benefit from the change of manager we made.

If you look at our starting/strongest XI it was clear that there was only one glaring position that needed strengthening. We could all debate over whether the wing backs are good enough, or another attacking midfielder could be signed, etc, but ultimately a goal scorer always felt like the missing piece for us and we addressed that with a huge investment.

United have brought three quality players but did they really need to add to their attack two more players in the area that is strongest in their squad. They're biggest hole is in midfield, and Ole never seems to address it. It's like Wenger back in the day with defenders and keepers, it's a weakness that every man and his dog seem to think is there except him.

We could do with another defender now Zouma has been sold, and a fourth centre midfielder but like some have said on here, that's not the easiest sell given the players already here. You also don't know behind the scenes what future transfer plans the club has, or the long term views Tuchel and the club have on a player like Gilmour for example who they may be hoping will benefit from this season on loan and can slot back into the squad next year.

If we make more signings they have to be the right ones and not just settling for second best. We've done that before and it has set the club back as a result.

If we don't make any more signings then we roll with what we have. I think the addition of Lukaku makes us a stronger prospect regardless of anything else, and a core of our team are still young and will hopefully kick on again this season. It may mean we just retain a couple of players even as backup this year, like Sarr and RLC as an example.

Seems like the Spanish clubs are jealous of English money.

Fuck them.. we will still rule Europe without acquiring their players.

I love seeing this situation personally. For soo long we had to bow to these fuckers... now they will try anything to get one over us. 😂🖕

No last minute buy out clause deals with spanish clubs for players who are unusually short for their position. We have made such bad experiences with this that we should refrain from this business altogether, even if the similarities between the deals end there.

anyway I don't think a new expensive defender should be taken at any cost in the presence of  Rudiger, Christensen, Thiago Silva , Azpiluceta and Chalobah .

it would certainly be a bonus, but not necessarily as a central striker and maybe midfielder

With Trev developing into a first team player, Kounde becomes a luxury. I think we really need someone to give Kante a rest.

He may be a luxury this season, but Silva will be gone and Azpi has already slowed down these past couple of seasons. Koundé is a player for the next 10 years.
