The team was clearly fed up with Lampard. He deserves no credit at all. He reached the bare minimum by pulling us out of the group stage. He was on the verge of fucking this club up for years by losing to every single shit side in the league. Lamprd will never make it. After his demise and Tuchel‘s Performance, he should rather just stop coaching and be a pundit or return to Man City and put up the cones. Redcafe, fighting cock, Arsenal Mania all were sad and shocked when we sacked Lampard because they knew now we would get a real coach and not a fraud. Look how it turned out. I LOVE OUR BOARD. No player is bigger than the club.

Also focus on how Tuchel coaches the team from the dugout. Telling players which runs they need to make, arguing with their decisions etc.
Lampard would just sit in the dugout like a little child folding his arms. Fair enough, what you gonna expect from him when he is simply clueless.

Get a life....

Simply the job came too early for him and we were all sitting here with our blue tinted glasses on hoping for the best. As it turns out, debut season wasn’t half bad, considering circumstances, but ultimately that seemed to have enabled his ego to take over and stick to his guns when asked what the plan was by the board/transfer targets.

Appreciate what he did for the club, but simply not there yet, best of luck to him and I hope he works on his media, that always rubbed me the wrong way, he seemed to bite at most dangling questions by journalists.

“Deserve no credit at all” would also be incorrect if he wasn’t a legend.

I agree Tuchel probed to be a different level, but still. Lampard introduced James, Mount, and CHOto first team and put 50-60 matches into their legs. These guys played vital part in this succesful season and might be biggest stars for next years.

Lampard also did the same with Tammy and Tomori. They might be sold this summer, but their performances under SF made their future clubs pay big money for them, which is also important for the club to continue building.

He made the foundation of the team, Tuchel finished the job with his big top football experience.

I mean, I don't really care too much if Lampard gets the credit or not but I did see some people say elsewhere that if AVB wasn't credited for getting us through the group stage back in 2011/12, then Lampard shouldn't get the credit as well.

Aye he shouldn’t get any credit for me. As harsh as it may be for some, its daft and seems more like pity as opposed to for achieving/deserving something. He deserves credit for putting the young guys in. 100%. But for last season. Which he got in an abundance.

If people want to give him credit for that this season they are being naive/overextending it from last season for me. I get its not a matter of just putting kids in and then they are perfect but bar Mason (and Tammy for maybe 6 or 7 games), the others didn’t really kick on this season until Tuchel came in. Reece looked poor at times. Fikayo Tomori never played and was loaned out in January due to a lack of playing time. Callum Hudson-Odoi was well on the bench/out the squad for probably half the season until Tuchel came in.

I disagree, I don’t think we can really credit him. As mentioned on the previous page its like crediting Villas-Boas in 2012. How is it any different? Its not. Villas-Boas brought Ramires game to another level, bought in Mata, brought in Meireles, guys who contributed in the CL run up but nobody said he contributed/deserved any praise at any point. Which is correct as well.

Conte was the one who gave Callum his debut actually. Then Sarri built on that eventually. Callum did play under Frank if you look back on the 18 months but nowhere near as frequently as the others did or what people felt he would have in terms of minutes.

I find the Frank made the foundation of the team point a bit off considering he had basically benched Rudiger, Jorginho and Azpilicueta for the best part of the season before he got sacked who were huge parts of the team with Tuchel. He also played a totally different shape 90% of the time, the team had no clear identity and he had used Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Ngolo Kante in probably 7 different roles between them. Havertz literally played as an 8, 10 and a right winger, Kante as a 6 and a 8, Werner as a 9 and a left winger. So again I don’t really see where this foundation your talking about came from.... unless you mean he bought the players and played the youngsters but that was it? Which is hardly as meaningful a contribution as many will give him praise for somehow?

Playing kids last season, aye, absolutely he deservedly got credit and not only did he play them because he wanted to play them, he obviously trusted there talent but again don’t think it can be overplayed/overstated this season that bar Mason and James, he didn’t play them as often (which is fine I get it he brought players in) as alluded to above. He didnt find the way to maximise 250m worth of players. He didn’t find a way to give a team a clear identity. All the things in which Tuchel has done. So how is it fair to give him credit?

Lampard on the club winning the CL, his regrets etc.

Shame he wasn't asked how did Tuchel manage to do better than him with the same squad...

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/frank-lampard-reveals-thoughts-Chelsea-24309540

"Yeah when you work towards something you want to be there, you want to be the manager and I'm never going to try and lay claim on that. I was part of the early foundation potentially but Thomas did a fantastic job getting them there.

"I will say when I watched it, first I'm a Chelsea person, Chelsea fans are happy and the club deserves.

"But secondly to see Mason and Reece perform at that level, people like Mendy, Thiago and Chilwell, who came in in my time makes me pretty proud. But again that's a great achievement by them and well managed."

"Well obviously you never want to lose a job, I'm in pretty good company at Chelsea. It happens. It's the brutal reality of football at the top level.

"With reflection, I've had a few months out now, it's been nice to spend some time out of the game. I'm pretty proud at the job I did, it was an honour to manage the club.

"I came in at a tough time with the ban and the loss of Eden Hazard and worked really hard to get into the Champions League and Mason [Mount], developing the younger players was a huge deal to me.

"I'm happy. You don't want to lose your job but it's a huge experience for me."

Asked if he had any regrets or done things differently, he said: "I think I could probably sit down and talk to you about a lot of things. That's a manager's job. There will be a lot of things you could do differently.

"But as I say very proud of year one. Year two there were expectations, maybe different complications. Every team had problems this year.

"We had a problem in January and I left my job. I can't go back and keep reflecting on those things in a negative way. I can only look positively going forward."

lol Either he didn't do it intentionally and was just namechecking the signings or he did it intentionally...

I can somehow, somewhat feel some bitterness in the interview.

If he did, then it says a lot about his cluelessness in getting the best out of the attackers. Easy to do it with the defenders or goalkeeper when it's just a case of plucking and dropping them into positions.

Could not find a new job this summer? I never expected PL teams to go for him but Championship? Guys like Parker, Jokanovic are ahead of him... Some younger managers like Gerrard also...

And now guys like Terry, Morris are going for jobs as managers... Cole also just started....

It will be extremely difficult for Lampard to revive his career as a manager but goodluck.

Who's to say he even looked very hard? Didn't he and his wife just have a baby a few months ago, maybe going back to work isn't the first thing on his mind right now.

He was rumored to be one of the runners for the Palace job before Vieira was appointed and probably would've taken that one if offered to him, but I'm not so sure he's so anxious to return to management that he'd take any job in the Championship. He has time on his side, because it's not like he needs the money so he can wait for the right project to appear (maybe even in the PL).

Of course it could be that he applied for just about every management job out there and just wasn't hired, but I'm not convinced that's the case.

When has a manager that has been sacked here ever been out of a job for too long though? Plus Parker and Jokanovic are easily just as average as Frank are.

I mean Parker and Jokanovic taking Fulham up with the largest budget in the championship and instantly getting relegated is hardly a sign of great managerial ability, is it? I mean Jokanovic spent like 100m once Fulham got up too and they were horrendous.

Even Bournemouth are probably on a bigger budget than 90% of the Championship so again, Parker, with a squad containing players who have already played in the PL regularly and considering they were in the play offs last season under Woodgate, if he doesn’t get promotion he will be under heavy scrutiny.

Ok about Parker but you have to give credit to Jokanovic.

He also promoted Watford after 9 years in Championship. He was 4th manager in 5 weeks but the one they kept all season. Season before they finished 13th and did not start season good until he came.

Did not continue with them in PL tho.

He took Fulham in relegation zone and they finished 17th season before. He help them stay in CS and season after they were in Play off and season after promoted. So he did very well in CS in every season.

In PL he failed badly because he tried to play offensive football with Fulham.

Lets see how he does in SU.

You may think all these leagues are shit but he won double twice in a row with Partizan and played great football. Got CL group stage with Maccabi which they did only once 10 years before him by knocking out Basel.

And also won Thai title 🤣

I would say he is Championship specialist. Derby finished 6th even the season before Frank so not sure you can say he improved them like Jokan did in both CS teams.

He also said himself that he turned down some flattering offers since he was sacked. I see no reason why he has to lie.
