Could see that AM were always the better side after halftime and to conceede the way we did before half-time was heart-breaking. I will say, im surprised JM opened the gates in the second half,, thought we were gonna sit back and then go for the goal in the last 10-15mins, by opening up the game early we played in AM's hands. Im dissapointed, crushed and at the same time proud. We really were about to so something special but when you saw AM's passing and general play they completely outplayed us in that second 45. What i hope we do is become more complete. Playing ramires and 5/6 defenders is almost reminiscent of the days of RDM. We have the summer and i expect JM and Co. to make this team more solid. Many things went wrong this season, and they were just badly exposed today. The guys gave everything on the pitch, time to move on. Hazard was non existing, maybe this was the key decision he was not fit enough? The in general had the more hungry players like us 2005. Man we were unstoppable mentally back then. In my opinion it's a culmination of a lack of stability. 4 managers in the last 3 seasons has had a big effect, especially when all have a different way of playing and at the same time we've significantly added to the squad with younger players. The failure to adequately replace Drogba has crippled us too.Jose has known this all along and I believe if he is committed to at the very least see out his contract he'll rebuild this club to challenge again for another decade. We'll be a far stronger animal next season and this experience will hold us in good stead. Don't mention Atletico because it's unlikely they will be able to hold on to their best players.At some point, having a good defense isn't good enough if you can't control the game. If you don't have the quality to do that. We fans tend to simplify about desire, and desire is certainly the key ingredient when facing a bottom table PL outfit, but not at this level.
