Dreaming: Neymar on loan + one of Sterling/Dembele, with Lukaku/Ziyech/Pulisic all departing.

Reality: Richarlison for 50m, Raphinha 60m, Pulisic new contract. 😩

We will NEVER pay Neymar's salary of close to £900K PW

Plus he is dressing room poison.

Is it really that much?? Christ. 😬

Would you take him for 500k p/w if given the choice?

Arse moving rapidly on big targets. Targets that we’ve been linked with ourselves. And they’ve already signed a pretty expensive midfielder today.

A club everyone has clowned for years for being useless and sluggish in the market. Now even they are moving rapidly whilst we’re Things Will Happen Soon FC. They’re not even in the CL, FFS! 🤦‍♂️

What is so worrying about Arsenal's business? Sterling is better than Jesus at the same price, Arsenal are way off Raphinha's valuation. I don't know about the Portuguese league player they signed.

Chelsea didn't have a board in place a month ago and are now handling everything else (sponsorships, megastore) on top of recruitment. I like Boehly's decisiveness and back the coach approach and don't think that the recruitment team has been slow so far even though that's all you read on this forum these days.

If there's any truth in him moving, he'll have to take a notable pay cut regardless.

Don't see Boehly, Tuchel and co being the type to sign glamour players. The rumoured list of targets are all a coach's dream worker types -Rice, Sterling, Jesus, Raphinha

I don’t get the Raphinha hype, he is way below Dembele and Sterling for me.

Honestly apart from the last six months (which were the last of his contract), what has been impressive about Dembele? Off the pitch he and his representatives are also meant to be absolute nightmares to deal with.

Personally, I'd take Raphinha's graft and commitment over a flaky talent who has only shown decent/great form whenever he seems to be playing for a move or a new contract.

For me, I'm leaning more towards Raphinha than Sterling, especially if they're both in the £40M-£50M range..  Raphinha would possibly be on lower wages and he has yet to win any major trophies in the PL which would add extra drive for him to succeed here whereas Sterling has won everything you can win in the PL.

Raphinha is basically a more athletic and direct Ziyech. A left footer who plays on the right. He is great at just getting the ball and taking on defenders. And he’s got the same sort of wand like delivery as Hakim. A player who can also shoot a bunch from long distance which many of our attacking players recently have been allergic to. Another positive is that he knows the league and won’t need time to settle to the pace of the game. Especially coming from a Leeds side who play balls to the wall, ridiculously fast paced football.

I think Sterling and Dembele should be the first two choices but Raphinha would be an excellent fallback if Dembele chooses to stay at Barca.

i dont think this is true.

main issue with him is his injuries. otherwise i would take him no question. would become our best player instantly.

Yes. But at least it's predictable that he gets injured by the time his sister has birthday and Carneval of Rio.

I'm getting the feeling that Kounde could well not happen.

The links with him have been obvious given the failed attempt for him last summer, but nothing has moved with it and now there have been a lot of links to Barca with him. I wonder if Tuchel is being given more free reign over targets whether he has more preferred options and the deal has run cold.

Talent wise it is day and night, I get the Dembele criticism. I rather have him than a player I don’t think upgrades over our current players.

Truth be told unless Tuchel changes his tactic to be more friendly toward our attackers we will be here next summer wanting the same signings out. Rinse and repeat.

I'm all for that. We want players that play for the collective rather than themselves.

I'm slightly surprised that people are so keen on this transfer but see Richarlison as a dire move. Also, the same individuals are happy to see us go for his Brazilian understudy (Jesus) too.

At £50-60m for either, it shouldn't be hard to choose IMO.

Other than his work rate, Richarlison doesn’t really do anything that well. Other than throw himself to the ground and act like a bastard. He’s not a prolific goal scorer, he’s not that quick, he’s merely okay with the ball at his feet, he’s not a towering presence in the air. If we signed him would he do a decent job? Probably. But I don’t think he’s good enough to elevate us to title contenders.

Raphinha is much more exciting. He’s got an amazing left foot and is extremely exciting in the ball. He’s already one of the best wide players in the PL and should only get better in a stronger team.
