Well a matter of time I guess

what a fucking sad day but lets not lost hope and we will find another great center back. at least one more.

Not that sad for me.

IMO, he was a decent CB..not really worth crying over when there are superior options out there.

My only hope is that Tuchel (who is likely in full control of targets, since Boehly won't have an idea) doesn't keep going after oddball targets like Ake instead of someone actually WC. That's my worry.

Honestly feel asif 90% of the this forum need to stop using twitter.

It's not good for your health.

I left Facebook, twitter and Instagram 6 years ago and have not for one minute missed any of them.

I'd even say it's interesting how this thread became near-pointless in recent years; I feel like solid, insight discussions were replaced by reposting random gossip and spaming with even more random players from 3rd tier leagues, who don't even match Chelsea profile, nor raise any interest from the club…

He would have been literally the perfect RCB in our team. Like, the best one we could possibly have gotten this summer.

People can downplay it and say they aren’t bothered. That’s fine. But I think this is a huge bummer. His age profile, his skill set, his versatility would’ve been brilliant.

Getting a RCB like Koundé would’ve been perfect also because it meant Koulibaly being able to much more quickly get up to speed in the PL by playing on the left side where he is used to. All the other targets we’re linked with (Gvardiol, Kimpembe, Aké) are left footers. Meaning KK will have to go to the right side and take who knows how long to settle.

KK is right footed, why would he have any trouble playing on that side?

Totally agree. Missing out on Kounde is a real kick in the teeth. He was tailor made for our team, playing both RCB and RB. Oh well, we need to move on.

That might be the case, but we have supposedly had a deal in place for a number of days, only for us to "stall", allowing Barcelona to sell another percentage of their training ground or car park to finance a move.

Everything I've read points to Kounde stalling, not us. Where do you get that it's us who are stalling?

Things are coming at you in a totally different way than you’re used to, maybe? It may not be that different when you’re on the ball but the game is coming at you from an angle you’re not used to.

Im talking about Barça

Why are you talking about others english clubs?

If Chelsea rivalize with Barcelona and Bayern its better to be prepared to things like that

You mentioned bigger clubs. Can't just base your argument off Barca alone.

Vesper said KK played 80-90% matches on the right. I wouldn't know, but I doubt she is lying.

Were the rumours about us not being willing to give the go-ahead until he had a medical true?

That's just one of the most recent. If there's doubt, why go after him?

Lol....

This place is pure comedy....few weeks ago nobody really wanted Kounde here....the least popular name here....after few weeks now and potentially losing out on him... see people calling us all sorts of names....

I was always against the dwarf coming versus many other CB's I always listed

I led the charge

what I do not like is being bollocksed about in public by Sevilla, Barca and the 2 players (much more so Kounde than Raphinha)

I honestly think this summer window will be the last of it’s kind for a while. Tuchel whilst should have the final say on players will have people to unearth gems that he is too busy to be looking for.We were put in a pretty desperate situation by losing 2 of our 3 best CB’s. I expect in next few windows maybe before they officially open we will return to days of dipping into the great football tadpole pools of the likes of Dinamo Zagreb and getting talent just as they beginning to rise rather than holding back until they are at bigger clubs who slap 50m price tags on anyone remotely likely to be half decent.

the youngsters we signed from other english clubs have been one of the few highlights of the window and although we need some veterans.we got two high quality ones so far. Like i said earlier the pool of talent that can do a job in a back 3 is thankfully the strongest in world football so we should be ok aslong as we don’t shit the bed.

WB and DM then we can mount a challenge..i’m ok with our front 3..no point trying to answer question marks with more question marks.

At present we probably a year away from being able to switch to a back 4 (Silva may be done then and Trev could be sacrificed) if we wanted to but bidding for Ake and Kounde suggests that is not in the plans..ya don’t put that kind of money on the table for back up fullbacks that are too short to play inside in a 4. Those two are seen as being more flexible than they are really.likes of KK,Skriniar,Gvardiol are the kind that would give us formation flexibility.as all can do good in back 3’s or 4’s.

Inacio has a 39m santa in his contract..if we want to go for for a quicker deal.
