The Mourinho Thread

Well i don't know about that. If Fergie truly loves Man United it's an odd way to protect your legacy by appointing someone who's massively inferior to you. He made a terrible choice. Mind you i'm glad he did can't see the man with the biggest head in football (size not ego) L.V.G lasting much longer either.

Having read about old purplenose, and talked to someone who was close to him, I reckon he got his rocks off by seeing Moyes fail to make himself look good. Bloke is 100% ego and bully, but to his credit did manage to get the best out of his charges.

Lets not forget this is the bloke who was lent a horse by Mc manus, then tried to make out he was given it. That led to a massive fallout between McManus and the knighted 'socialist' allowing the Glazer parasites to come in and almost bankrupt the club. Fun to see Mourinho get the best of him.

Yes agreed F.B. though Mourinho and Fergie is a no contest. Fergie is or would if he had stayed been yesterday's man. As for the horse bitter sweet that me and my mates won a load of dough on Rock of Gibraltar unfortunately it was the same day we lost to Arsenal in the 2002 cup final.

Your original post said you would like to see Fergie up against Mourinho why?. Mourinho was more then a match for him first time round so i can't see how a near retirement Fergie would have been close to getting anywhere near us in the last two seasons. Well choosing Moyes proves that Man United is an autocracy and that Fergie had far to much power and yet with all that at his disposal he chose the massively out of his depth Moyes.

Well, whether you think United could have gotten anywhere near us under Fergie in the last two seasons is your opinion. As for why I would like to see Mourinho and Ferguson going up against each other (those two were a match for one another), think I've mentioned that several times already in the previous replies.

Yup the Portugeezer always got one over on the Govan gobshite, and would have done this season as well. Well done on Rock of Gibraltar btw

Those two talk of course, they influenced each other. In the beginning Schurrle said: Jose wanted me to stay and promised me chances but I wanted to go - and now he says "i didnt feel complete backing."

Any chance that his mind has been influenced by the negativity of KDB towards Jose? I think so.

Sometimes you have to be man and take the responsibility for your own decisions. It's easy to say "i didnt feel complete backing", but he really played bad when given chances. Plus, he wasn't pushed to leave, he decided to take the easiest way by leaving.

No grudge against him though, but he shouldn't start to bad mouth the club and Jose.

Yes, we could think maybe KDB play a bit part too. But two ex-players said something about their old club manager at almost the same time? I believe journos who lead them the way. Curse all that journos.

No.

The fact is that Jose really hurts his squad players. I wrote this a few times already but football players are really, really sensitive like OMG. For example Lampard and Cole wanted to damage Chelsea just because AVB was here, similar situation with Drogba under Scolari. That's how much they cared about the club actually ... Regarding Jose and squad players, Jose rarely rotates and as he says, he never gives an explanation why he doesn't play certain players and why he bench someones. Because he rotates very little and give clear, biased untouchable status to some, the squad players feel empty. Yes, as a professionals they should play as well as they can when they have a chance BUT back to the point, ALL FOOTBALL PLAYERS ARE SENSITIVE, FRAGILE MINDED PEOPLE. They have to feel 'love' to perform and those squad players simply are bereft of any confidence. That's why Salah looked like barely 4th tier league player and just 2 weeks later he plays awesome football in different place.

Salah, KdB, Schurrle, Ba they say things in similar fashion. You could also find that in David Luiz and Mata comments probably. Jose doesn't necessary brings confidence in his squad players. It's quite distinction from his mentor Sir Bobby Robson who most of the time spend with players who he doesn't pick.

Yeah I agree with you on the manner of Jose using his subs.

But I think we could divide this group of players in two:

A group: Schurrle, Mata, Luiz, Remy, Luis, Zouma, Ramires

B group: KDB, Salah, Cuadrado, Ba, Mikel (only trusted in final minutes)

Group A got regular playing time while group B got almost nothing.

Schurrle was clearly in group A and sometimes a starter, he was treated well and was trusted by Jose.

So he should not react in the same way KDB did. We need more group A players and need to remove B players.

I wrote earlier in the summer transfer thread that, Jose needs squad players he can trust.

And clearly he doesn't trust all of them since his come back, for example: Salah, Cuadrado are players he doesn't trust.

Remy, Luis and Zouma proved themselves this year with limited time, so next year he will include them in the squad for example, we need more players like them without spending too much.

Thats exactly the debate. KDB should have been in the A group. At least to give him a shot. He got best player in Germany, so that does say something.

Yeah based on talent I agree, but we don't know what happened between them.

True. He will win, lose youth, ....etc. We know what we have with Mou. I hope it is long term though. Thats the part of 'evidence based' he himself has not/never proven. Id love Chelsea to have a long term vision with him. Can he do it for a prolonged period like SAF? Then he would become immortal imo!

If he wants to stay here for the long run, he'll have to give youth a chance. Let's hope he adds another string to his bow.

We all want to be on same level as the Real Madrid and Barcelona of this world but ask yourself how many youth have these team given a chance. One or two in a long run. Jose will give it a shoot when the time is right. Hopefully this young talent got something to prove and have Jose rethink on who will make it to the first team

You say group A got regular playing time then you say they got limited playing time. I agree that Mou needs to have confidence in the players or they dont get picked and I would place Remy,Filipe and Cuadrado in that pigeon hole. For whatever reason he does it we wont change it.

IMHO If a player wants to throw all his toys out of their pram and have a hissy fit and try to hurt the club because of whatever reason then they should be helped along their way. No matter who it is. The club is bigger than 1 or 2 players egos.

We knowwhat Mou thinks to rotation for whatever reason I cant understand but the thing I really dont get is a few times early last season he was asked in interviews about team selection. Mostly asked about which keeper etc etc. But his answer to that was I like to have selection problems. I like finding it hard to decide who to select.

Anyone looking at us might just call him out on that one.
