Popular Post! Superblue 6,372 Posted May 24, 2016 Popular Post! Share Posted May 24, 2016 If we can buy 2 or 3 players to plug the holes in our squad we have to be considered big contenders for the title based on the facts that: 1. We still have a core of top players in our squad and adding to this will only make us stronger. 2. No European football. This is the best possible thing for Conte as if he is looking to radically change our tactics, style of play, etc he'll have plenty of time to implement this without the burden of playing and travelling around europe. We should have a fitter, fresher team next season. 3. Until any teams make their own moves in the market this summer, there is no team in the league which is head and shoulders above everybody else. Agree with everything, apart from number 3. Man City are quite comfortably the best team in the league, and quite clearly the most talented. They have been now for the last 4 or 5 years. Their problem was putting it all together. Pep is pretty damn good at making a great team greater, so we'll see... We need a whole lot of grit, team work and consistency to win the league next season. We won't be the most talented, but we could still be top 3 in that regards depending on how everyone else buys. IMO they have just as many gaps to fill as everybody else. Defensively they are very suspect, particularly if Kompany continues to struggle with injuries. Fernando, Fernandinho and Delph are all serviceable but none strike me as the type of player Guardiola builds his midfield around. Silva has had injury problems, Sterling, whilst good, I still think is vastly overrated. They place a heavy reliance on Aguero and De Bruyne. I think a lot of work is needed there too. The moment he starts backtalking Chelsea will end his legendary status. And because Jose is full of lies, you know this is a good possibility. But to me personally, he's not that much of a legend anymore, I wouldn't want a statue of him. Just like Lampard before he is become our enemy now, not a friend nor partner. But this is actually WORSE than Lampard as he will be staying with United for 3 years maybe more. I just wish we get a manager that will overtake Jose's number of trophies with us. Because until that happens, people are gonna keep saying he is our most successful manager therefore he can do whatever he wants, even if he does something like stopping us from winning the title (like we did with Spuds). We laugh at Arsenal with their Wenger In and Wenger Out crap when we are no different. ANY trust I had left in Jose just went out the window the moment he's gone to United. He doesn't love us. It's just business for him. If you want real love, look at Terry and Drogba. Well we can't hide the fact Jose is our most successful manager and it will be pretty hard for anyone at Chelsea to end that. All we can hope at the moment that Conte can bring something there (which I personally doubt). Because I am afraid we could be behind Man Utd and maybe City for years. I reckon it's going to be another 3 years+ before we win another title. Maybe we can grab a League cup or FA cup in the meanwhile. If this period is not handled well and we're going to keep recruiting average players and change managers as if they were a pair of underwear, it's probably going to get really ugly. I'll be honest and say I don't have too much faith in the future right now. Tautvix, bellion, Essien19 and 1 other

I'll be honest and say I don't have too much faith in the future right now. The recruitment of mediocre playing staff is dictated by only one thing - an obsession with profits. Ironically, this further hurts the TOP and bottom line in the long run when sponsors reduce their fees, merchandise sales drop and fans stay away. Parky 739
Even though I dish out the shit at Jose I still stand by my prediction that he will win silverware at Man Utd that's a given. But ultimately he will self destruct and fade out, turning important members at the club against him, creating a toxic atmosphere like he did at Real Madrid and our club. In regards to our team I believe if Conte can get a couple of quality signings and bring out the great potential of our promising youngsters than we can quietly challenge for the title. Should be a fanatic season ahead and one of the most important summer transfer windows for all the top clubs. Liquidator

Popular Post! Superblue 6,372 Posted May 24, 2016 Popular Post! Share Posted May 24, 2016 I will always appreciate and hold Mourinho in high regard based on his achievements at Chelsea. But the love-in that he receives off some is way over the top. There is something about him that makes you love him when he's on your side but absolutely loathe him when he's not, and I think joining United will only increase such an emotion. And let's be honest, he is one of the biggest mercenaries in modern football, no matter his insistence that he is 'one of us' wherever he manages. There is just no way in my opinion that his two spells at the club, given the fairly brief stints they were, can hold him up to some of the players we've had who have given twice or three times as long to the club, including dedicating their best peak years for the Chels. Popular Post! Liquidator 5,176 Posted May 24, 2016 Popular Post! Share Posted May 24, 2016 Personal terms agreed with Manchester United Football Club. But keep telling yourselves he loves us, is one of us and is a fan of the club just like us. Obviously I don't want anything bad to happen to him on a personal, human level but I hope he fails miserably and leaves United in a bigger mess than his petulant attitude left us at Chelsea. Although he'll have funds at United I expect city will have more and already have a superior squad (and coach). Yes he will get United back to winning trophies but it wouldn't surprise me if that is outweighed in the long term by the damage he does to the dressing room and young players they have. I'm not going to wish him good luck. He's managing a rival and trying to beat us. He's opposition. I don't think any body who catches feelings for a club to a point they are one of us can join a rival, I'm trying to see it from their perspectives but it's hard, if I played for Galatasaray and built such a connection with the club and fans, I just cannot for the life of me ever want to risk what I built by joining Fenebache. How could Cech even look at Arsenal after 11 years at Chelsea? He could still have a family life in London and play anywhere in Western Europe, this is 2016, I read somewhere that Ronaldo goes to see a friend in Morroco a few times a week, Cech could have stayed living in London play abroad, Rafa is another one that did it when he was at Madrid and Naples. I dont see how many are so relaxed about our legends going to rivals, it's happened three years in a row which is unheard off in the football world, I appreciate what they did for this club and I'd never hate them, but their will always be the elephant in the room. If any one doubts JT, just watch the video of him addressing the crowd at the Bridge after the last home game. Unfortunately, with every passing year, players like JT that have deep passion and love of a club are becoming fewer and fewer. With the huge influx of international players, there just is not that life long bond like JT has. Heck, even Gerrard has it for Liverpool. For Jose, I think once this year was officially in the dumper and he was released, I do believe it became business. If he continued to compete at Chels, I think he would have been here for a long time. But the wheels came off and it became a dumpster fire. He loves the Premier League. He has always admired Man United. That has been well known. I think he will always love Chelsea and think fondly of his time at the Bridge. I would be greatly disappointed if in 3 years he is coaching the likes of Norwich or Villa like Benitez with Newcastle. Think fondly of Jose, but it is business, time to look onwards and upwards and look to Conte to lead the new Chelsea charge. Hope we are active early in the signing window. Come on you Chelsea!!
