Iggy Doonican 4,187
In a week where Mourinho brings up events from 2001 (Graham Le Saux) it was ten years ago when he coined the overused phrase ''Parking the Bus''. Who were we playing? Tottenham oh the irony. firejose and Henrique
Rhino's Skin 972
great tactics and the lads played well for Mourinho today.Different formation at times ........seemed to keep reverting to a 442 when we had the ball.Spurs were at a loss today and didnt seem ready with our changes considering they were hot favourites and most of their attempts ended up being long shots. In the end we were very comfortable and a couple more efforts on goal would have capped a fine effort from the lads.No bus parking from us today.. It's a pity we don't have Sturridge, he would be good. But other then that I don't know.

I agree to an extent but I'd say it is always better to have a striker with the qualities of Aguero than one with the qualities of Costa. A technically excellent striker is something we have needed desperately for years. We might have had Aguero himself but for Carlo deciding against him. Still, that ship has sailed so we must try to find another.I know some people see it differently but I can think of no situation whatsoever when I'd prefer Costa over Aguero. zolayes 14,489
Apart from City every team in the league isn't very good attacking wise, and they sacrafise defense to be good attack. The only difference between us and United/Spurs this season is the defence.Goals scored Leicester 29 Everton 27 W ham 25 BOURNEMOUTH 17 Chelsea 17still we do have 1 more than Sunderlandbtw Spurs have 24 or 40% MORE than us ,, kellzfresh, Muzchap, Henrique and 1 other

Irakozium257 350
Trying to make an image of a big club with sponsorship deals, big budget, talented youth and positive style of play BUT having Mourinho as a manager. You can't thing about two more contradict forces.Only in Chelsea.Well said. Thiat is, I believe, the core of my unwanted frustrating angry emotions towards him. The last thing I want to be is a scaremongering cynic, but him being the coach at our club is so last year (no pun intended). What has happened to us so far this season is no fluke, we've deserved every bit of our losses and draws, and it all comes down to the step-by-step disharmony he has created since he came back. From degrading our own players/staff publicly to the cowardly tactics (the home game against PSG being a fine example), he has managed to make us really become a small horse domestically and in CL football. Luis Enrique had management problems last season at the start of this year, but he had the guts to put his pride behind and collaborate with everyone involved for the sake of the club. Our league position besides, I've come to realise that the so-called stability that people crave is an illusion that should be broken, I'd like to be wrong and start to actually see attacking, intense pressing, flawless and confident football in the coming matches, cause I know that our squad is more than capable of it, but with him at the helm, you get a nagging feeling that that there lurks more disappointments, more unnecessary scandals, boring/uncoordinated attack against ALL kinds of teams and the list goes on. We gave tgem tons of room until they hit the halfway line. I don't think the Spuds expected that and looked a little lost and confused However, we just don't have any ability to play smooth counter attacking football - we just cannot seem to string 3 or 4 FORWARD passes together, it's a joke. Playing accurate counter attacking football with our squad is like judging a fish on its ability to climb a tree! We definitely need to work out a plan B and go with it. Ivanovic was poor, scared of being caught out of possession so hung back the entire game, that fucks up our attacking shape and makes it even harder when teams press. I'm not going to blame the players, I didn't think they left anything on the pitch. I would however have persisted with Baba and Dave as it gives more natural balance. We need to ditch 4-2-3-1 Our midfield was again bypassed way too easily and you control a game from midfield - we just couldn't do that Yes the Spuds are in good form, but we need to be beating teams like this (Top 7-8 contenders) if we are to do anything this season, or next. The teams we meet in the knockout stages of the CL (predicting we will make it) will be much tougher than the Spuds and just 1 shot on target is absolutely pathetic. Not to mention our inability to exploit the fact that Spuds had 3 defenders on yellows and could have easily lost a couple of players from rash challenges as they were putting themselves about a bit. So for me - it's yet more of the same - never wanted to win, just didn't want to lose and that's a shit mentality for our Club. But hey - I'm a football nobody, what do I know - our manager claimed it was the best performance of the season - lol Last Sicarius and dimmas
