The thing is, this team have shown that they can defend and defend properly when they put their minds into it - e.g. the recent win against Man City. But yeah, more often than not, they have defended like clowns.

I am not saying we do not have a chance , hell we could eve win

but i am trying to point worst case scenarios as those are the ones that show when another team is truly eliminated, obviously if we win the last 2 league games we are 3rd (and hell maybe, if we win the 3rd game, the semi v Manure, playing in an FA Cup final) Hell I do not even completely write us off v Bayern, as it is not back in Munich, and stranger things have happened

On the topic of Lampard and OGS.

I find the current form of both teams rather interesting.

First half of the season, you had us regularly picking up points against the bread and butter of the league, especially in away games. United fared well against top 6 teams but flopped against lesser opposition.

Now fast forward to the restart, we have won a game against City, at home, beat Leicester away, and you have United more consistent against the lesser sides.

Interesting that our next 2 games are against top 6.

United and Leicester might have won yesterday but it will be much tougher vs West Ham and Spurs for them.

We still have two games to go against teams that practically dont have much to play for. I still like our chances

This gameweek results has ensured that top 4 will go down the wire. 

Among the 3, United seems favorites to finish top 4. Winnable game against West Ham and then a draw at home against Leicester will be enough. Chelsea are second because of the extra point, we need 4 to ensure top 4 which seems difficult with the way we're playing. Finally Leicester a close third only because they have 2 tough games on their hand, only advantage is that they have a better goad Difference. 

If and a BIG IF, all 3 teams wins their next games ... final day would be epic!!!

Sadly, United is improving every year, even though they do not reach CL football.
We play CL and get worse each year since Conte's title winning season. It was only a matter of time when United gets in front of us in the table

Oops, you're right. But I was kinda basing that on the fact that they can't play for a draw on the final day, unlike another scenario, and they would have to go for the win.

Fair enough. For me if we get knocked off it will be surely sad and disappointing but we deserve it, didnt kill it when it was comfortably in our hands. Start of the season didnt really have much hope so I wouldnt mind the 5th place too. Beauty of the league that we have something to look forward even on the last day.

I think if we hadnt shown that defensive..or general running in random directions against Sheffield be more confident but that was something else! 

They know what they need to do and what's at stake..but then again so did they against West Ham and Sheffield..and nearly Palace..this restart has been bad! 

Hopefully can pull something out the bag..if not..away to far away places we go. Thats what find annoying that we had it..then we've lost it..still got it but just.

Hope we can recreate those moments..
