The Evertonians have done it. 1st major upset? not really, manU was poor. Rooney+van persie+kagawa did not really interplay well. Ev looked likelier to score a second all game. Fellaini is unique in his play. He is not the most skillful but one of the most combative players in the league. His heading ability, size and also reading of the game make him a very good player, better than mikel but probably not what we need.

Disagree regarding Kagawa & Rooney, thought they showed a good understanding considering their lack of playing time together. Kagawa was impressive with the ball, kept it simple but didnt lose it once. United as a whole though showed signs of last seasons problems, serious lack of play through the middle - Something that Van Persie usually thrives on.

No game is easy anymore in the premier league this weekend has proved it.

Yeah i agree, i don't think any one team is gonna run away with it. The gaps between the top 6 has definately reduced and that should be reflected in the table this season... No 25 point gap between us and the manchester clubs this season...

A very much well deserved win for Everton. Super team performance from back to front and Fellaini was a beast all night long. United couldn't handle one at all, even Vidic and it was hilarious to see Carrick marking Fellaini for his goal. Shocking decision from Fergie!

Funny how the commentators, think it was Alan Parry in particular keep on saying how brilliant Kagawa was... what did he do? He was more scared than anything, got the ball, passed it, looked comfortable but showed no desire to actually go the next step and do something. Nice on the ball tho but more suited to West Ham at home rather than Everton away. Have Kagawa in my fantasy team and Carrick, left em both on the bench, this isn't the game for good footballers.

Been a great few days tho, other than City digging themselves out if a hole, it's been near perfect.

Man Utd, Liverpool and Tottenham all lost. We've not lost an opening game since 1998 against Coventry. Well, we never used to win there, they beat us on consecutive opening days in 1997 and 1998. I still remember how unlucky Casiraghi was in that game, Hedman had the game of his life, fucker.

We have to now beat Reading and make it a great week.
