Term-X 7,892
Why should we tap him up? Is there any chance that Rooney isn't aware of our interest? Is there even the possibility that terms haven't been discussed with Stretford? Do you think Ashley Cole hasn't been in his ear telling him to come down south? Plus why would he hand in a request at this point in time? I never saw this deal happening before the game at Old Trafford so why would he use that option before it's necessary? It should be done ahead of time, United (from what we know via media) say he's staying and that message has been pretty clear, 'reports now claim' Rooney has accepted their decision. There is no formal transfer request!, which is bizarre considering how long the speculation has been going on. Why leave it so late, United won't be selling late in the window, that's not how they operate. Why risk it.. there needs to be more tension & further disruption, Rooney is conforming atm. That is literally their last card to play (unless he wants to act the real cunt) so they can't just throw it out there, especially when United seem so unlikely to sell before our game with us. Once that is out of the way I expect things to ramp up.

Toli 977
yeah we should make a take or leave offer. 40 m pound is more than realistic and if they dont accept, well let them rot in hell.

Mouri_Matic 560
he is not worth more than 30-35M at the momentif he really wanted to come he would handed in a transfer request alreadyTrue but we will have to pay extra because:1. He is English and they are always overpriced2. He is a big name player so we have to pay for his name as well3. He is a player belonging to our direct competitor, so again more money needed to persuade them to sell4. MU don't need moneyAren't we gonna wait for our United match to be over before our last bid?Even if they accept our bid now it will take a few days for things to be done, all the paper works, medicals...etc and we are playing them next week so I guess if the bid is placed now, everyone have the expectation that he will miss that game anyway. Phil Driver 503
Are we still wating our time on this washed out scouser ,Man Utd will not sell to us ,give up on it , I dont want him, have we ever wasted money on washed up centre forwards before and got rid of one who had just scored the winner in a champions League final ,Lukaku is 20 scored as many goals in the PREMIER LEAGUE last season ,the boy needs his chance and we need to stop masturbating over Rooney. Tricky 301
I am no expert at this but I don't know why we are chasing strikers who are out of form ?I just don't want Rooney to become Torres- Part-IITwo assists in half hour... pretty high standards your setting! Mouri_Matic 560
Two assists in half hour... pretty high standards your setting! And only his 2nd game since 3 months ago. But to be fair though only the Welbeck one was good, the RVP one was just a normal pass but RVP used his skill to blast it into the top corner. ChelseaFanUK 1,014
Lukaku is not good enough yet to lead the line for a full season. He is still learning, a great season at West Brom doesn't mean he can suddenly be our main man. He will play more than he did before yes, but that strikeforce we have, still needs a top class striker added to it. Whether that stunts Lukaku or not, it is down to Romelu to work his way into the team and keep the new guy out.And if anyone thinks he is better than Rooney, they need their heads wobbled. I love Lukaku, but I'd still have Rooney over him
bluephoenix 1,135
Two assists in half hour... pretty high standards your setting!help me understand ! don't you think we dont have enough players who can setup goals???I thought he is transfer to get goals at the back of the net and not set them up... I am sure Torres also does really well to try and get passes in ! But aren't we frustrated enough at why he is setting up goals when he should me scoring ?
