Cucurella side is done, hence his agent replying to Romano on IG.

Romano has had the nod and the deal for him to join us is done, just the Colwell deal to finish up. It's like a war of words and Fab is going what he always done and confirming with here we go based on the agent confirming everything.

Cucurella is a Chelsea player.

Yes but you're already assessing the transfer as if this will happen because you're mentioning it being a £70m+ transfer which is why you don't like it.

If Colwill develops into a top centre back then buying him for less than £50m in a couple of years time will likely prove good value anyway. There's no guarantee that if he stayed here and only played 15-20 games that he'd progress in the way we want him too. If he goes somewhere like Brighton and thrives it's all worked out well.

For now if he's helped facilitate us buying a very good player, and in doing so essentially driven down the net price with his own transfer value then that's a pretty good deal all around for us I think.

Not directed at you in any way, but I'm pretty sure there were a lot of people who were rating Cucurella really highly on this forum at the end of last season and that we should go for him. Then when City looked like capturing him, again it was being talked about like a very strong signing for them.

Suddenly we're in for him and looking likely to secure him and the feeling suddenly seems a lot more mixed. I think he could be a lot more important than people realise or think next season if Chilwell struggles to regain his form and fitness pre injury.

I did prefer him if we cannot see any proper guy to sign. Past Premier league experience will help alot. Can still do a good job for a season or two until we have a younger guy trustworthy enough to fill in the striker roll for us. He did score loads of goals for us.

For a little light relief from our transfer window saga after saga.i suggest a Tolstoy novel.

No matter how often I may be told, "You cannot understand the meaning of life so do not think about it, but live," I can no longer do it: I have already done it too long. I cannot now help seeing day and night going round and bringing me to death. That is all I see, for that alone is true. All else is false.

Fair price point - Danjuma.

All in & best CF that's obtainable - Your fellow countryman, Osimhen.

Two names I've been mentioning for a number of months, or years in the case of the latter.

Good...

Napoli will not sale us Osimhen...

Every player has their price. Also, this sort of thing might drive them out - https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11076351/Napoli-President-not-sign-African-players-unless-agree-not-play-AFCON.html

Dont think lb cover with a 50mn player should be priority for us

Eapecially if it means if we loose colwill.

Someone like a maehle would have worked. Cucu at lcb wont be ideal given his height...really not getting the boards thinking here...this is going to be a transition year, might as well give colwill the minutes

I don't believe Chelsea's scoring problem are the forwards are such.
Ok Lukaku proved wanting and Werner is one of the inglorious league of chance wasters.
But Kai-Pulisic and Ziyech ? Why ?
The real problem is we don't have players to open up defenses and free spaces. Hazard was definitely one and Cesc with his accurate passing.
Really I don't see how if we had signed Haaland he could pull things out of the fire without a Hazard to do the preliminary work for him.
