So you don't remember his first stint here? You don't remember him at Utd 🤣🤣🤣

People are entitled, myself included, to be dubious of this signing. Although, I hope for the positives 👍

I honestly think we need the midfield sorted before we can challenge for the league. It's a marathon not a sprint - still think City have the best squad and we ended up quite far behind in 4th... Leicester looked pretty solid - so expect them to be in the mix again TBH. Possibly Liverpool might shit the bed again...

I'm a little sceptical myself but even at United which would probably be considered the worst period in his career, he still scored 42 in 96 games. Nearly 1 in 2.

That is a significantly stronger ratio than anybody currently in our squad during their Chelsea careers.

If he scores at around a 1 in 2 mark during his Chelsea career then his goals should be a huge positive to add to our attack.

I guess.

To cheer myself up- I watched a YouTube of his goals last season and I must confess- the Italian league looks pretty dire.

Oh well - roll on next week and let's see what happens. If he can achieve 1 in 2 - that's all that can be asked for 👍

I’m resigned with the fact he will come and for the reported absurd price tag, so like @Muzchap I just hope he delivers good performances and keeps his current form (and fitness).

however, if we end up getting United lukaku then we are royally fucked. While he still scored some goals like you said, he was also where many of United plays came to die thru his poor touches and/or lack of movement.

I started watching some of his individual games to see if he has changed…omg still the same Lukaku. The first touch at 1:00 mark classic Lukaku, where his first touch goes 10 yards lol. It is such a simple and easy pass he was given too.

I'm getting pissed off with lukaku haters on here. You're just annoyed you didn't get the latest poster boy in halaand. If there was no rumours and gossip on halaand you would be so happy right now. You lot are not real Chelsea fans at all. I know Lukaku is gonna smash it here he suits us absolutely perfect. I personally cannot wait and believe the premier League is within reach finally!!!

Wrong again.

as I said 100 times:

lukaku is a decent player but not a good deal at that price

Bad deals hurt the long term economic plans of the club

Haaland would also probably have been a bad deal if we had offered all parties the necessary money.

no emotional investment in either player from my side. I just care about the club .

i guess it is similar with most on here who did not want Lukaku for 115m.

Well the price is so high because of two things:
- we are desperate to sign class 9

- there are not many class 9 which we can buy(Lukaku, Haaland, Kane, Lewy) so if we want anyone we need to put high bid. Just like in economy.

And im happy for him, just like said last week, i was almost sure we will get striker, CB and middlefield. We are on good way to make 2of those 3 and new middlefield depends on selling like Bakayoko.

I get you're angry because of the negativity but just because somebody doesn't like the Luakaku transfer doesnt mean they aren't real Chelses fans. That's just ridiculous

Bottom line from me, I firmly believe that if any of our coaches over the last few years could improve a player, then I believe it’s Tuchel. Simple as that, he has improved the level of quite a number of players, whether that’s up one gear or two.

It is what it is, and we have what we have.

The main difference I see from the Lukaku we had as a youngster and the Lukaku we're about to sign is his physical play. Now he is a monster holding up the ball and going into aerial duels. Can't wait to once again have a proper target-man leading the line, have a feeling this time around he'll fuck shit up. 😎
