Can’t imagine how we’d keep 3 LWB’s in the squad and have enough minutes to go around. So blocking Alonso from going whilst keeping Emerson makes no sense. One or the other has to go. And we haven’t heard anything about anyone wanting Emerson.

If we thought last season was bad with the amount of gash we had at our disposal, this is going to be another level.

Marina was the one responsible sanctioning the loans.

Normally I wouldn't mind a nice disposal of gash but in this case, it's not great lol.

But that's the problem right there.

Why should we weaken ourselves by selling Alonso to keep Emerson purely on the basis because he can be sold and Emerson cannot?

Either find buyers for both and buy a new LWB, or keep Alonso as backup. Emerson either finds a new club or he sits out this season. We can't afford to let these players we want to move on just get a free pass into the squad or worse make space for them in the squad.

Same goes for Batshuayi. I'll bang my head against a wall if he's still here by the end of the transfer window and Broja isn't.

We should just walk away from kounde and maybe the transfer market as a whole at this point...no good players available...we will just end up paying a bomb for lukakuesque type player and then dk ourself more in next few summers trying to get rid of them

I mean, I agree but after Ruchel made such a big effort in January to bring Emerson back from his loan in France I think it’s safe to say he rates him. I think that’s why we haven’t even tried to get rid of him yet.

I know its not priority but according to Fabrizio we have agreed a contract with Slonina and also a verbal agreement with Chicago with the assurance of sending them an official bid soon. Turns out Chicago is waiting for that bid for weeks now. Probably Barca gonna swoop in now. This is just amateur stuff. If we want the player, we should wrap him up and if not, walk away. No wonder Kounde would (luckily) reject us. We left him hanging to dry for basically a year as well.

I believe this boiled down to a club and Tuchel decision that as a short term measure it was easier to bring Emerson back than buy a new left back who would almost certainly end up amounting to another backup to Chilwell once he returned from injury.

Made complete sense then.

If Tuchel rated him that highly he wouldn't have been loaned out in the first place as the clear and obvious third choice in that position.

Anyone who is putting Tuchel blameless in all of this are off their rocker.

He is equally as responsible as this calamity of a window.

True, but he's been pretty consistent with his comments on how he was very happy that there was a clear structure in place (Marina & Cech) to take care of the business side of things, choosing the transfer targets etc. so he could just focus on the coaching. He just clearly  doesn't like this part of the job and would rather leave it to someone else.

That definitely doesn't mean he shouldn't face his fair share of the blame but a bit of context is important too. However the rest of the window goes, let's just hope a new sporting leadership is appointed asap. Boehly will probably still want to be involved in some capacity but it's clear he needs a lot of help.

He's doing the negotiations & he's the reason behind the club being unable to make moves until after the window had opened? There's nothing equal about it.

Sometimes I'm lost for words when reading posts.

Our fan base are always quick to turn on their own when things aren't going our way. It's a spoiled mentality.
