kounde or not we still passed up on a million of defenders when we need at least 2 anyway. So the point stands. Also if it were TT's preference, why is the deal not sealed already? either way comes down to board incompetence

The words Board incompetence is getting boring especially from a bunch of ppl sat behind a phone / tablet, that wouldn't no their arse from their elbow in an actual transfer deal.

It was the same last window too. Which culminated in the disaster Lukaku signing.

People here are harping on about new owners like we need their wallet or something.

The people in charge of recruitment are still the same. That's the reality.

Even if its the same ppl in charge of recruitment you still need the new owners wallet. Doesn't matter when where or who we sign not every body will be happy.

Well they finally have it.

I'll wait, since it's still way before preseason, but I won't pretend it's all fine after their recent track record.

Given how poorly they handled Rudigers and Christensens contract situation, they have a lot to make up for. And acting slow, while other clubs snap up targets does not.

My personal opinion is that we don't need a lot more to compete for top 4 this season. But we absolutely need new CBs and we should be close to signing one.

I think Rudiger was going regardless, RM is much bigger pull than Chelsea and a massive pay day for him. For rudi that was a win win.

Keyboard warriors on here wouldn't waste 200 mill on Lukaku blocking us signing players for the years to come. Keyboard warriors from Chelsea fans wouldn't be spending entire summer transfer windows trying to offload half of the squad that ono one wants because they are overpriced below average players on insanely high wages , trying to generate money for the next signing.  Bakayoko, Mitsu, Drinkwater, Rahman, Zappacosta, Barkley and many many more wouldn't be signed by keyboard warriors. We didn't know who they were when they were signed.

Same old story on here. We have about forty players on our books and only 30%  are first team material. Like previous years ( bar 2020 when we got out from transfer ban and sold our talisman for big money) we are waiting to offload players first to generate funds. Which will be tricky because the only  youth players we can sell are the ones we need in the team. As year before.

When sometime in late August we find out that we have unsellable assets, including our record signing, we will loan some midfielder and central back on deadline day.

In attack we will get Broja. In midfield Conor and Ampadu. Or Gilmour? Or somebody on loan.  In defese Colwill and somebody for free or on loan.

I have a sneaky felling feeling those owners will wait for that list of players being  reduced  from 40 to 20  with nice income before they make big signing.

In the meantime they will find themselves in shock when we miss out on CL spot and in couple of years our revenue drops by 50%.

These  were writings on the wall when 200 mill was spent on Lukaku instead of midfielder, wingback and winger. Too many disastrous signings from too many years  are catching up with us.

We still have false sense of security. CL spot.  When we spend next year fighting for that fourth place, and miss out, we will know better where we stand with these owners. My two cents.

Links with SMSavic..

Looks decent on YouTube.

Any one watched him in games?

He’s an awesome player but occupies the same sort of positions that Kova and Gallagher do. He’s got much more attacking nous than Kova but I’m not sure it makes a whole lot of sense to spend £60m on another box to box midfielder.

There was talk of Sarri wanting RLC, so using him as a makeweight plus cash would be smart business.

You've been crying out for a consistent goal scorer from midfield ever since Lamps left.

He is not needed, no place in current formation, if we were to change formation Mount would be favored.

That's what I thought looking at his highlights.

With Kante on the operating table week in, week out and Kova also suffers from niggling injuries, Jorginhos looking like he wont be around for much longer, suddenly we don't have the options we think we do.

Gallagher and Mount are similar players.. both number 8's if you like..Kova and Kante also. We actually lack a real CDM like a Rodri, Tchoumaeni ect.

There you go, the only man to trust on such business. "Chelsea will definitely be buying players this summer but first they are to sort out many things internally, including that big sack of donkey shit.. Lukaku"

I didn't say he was needed, but would help address one of the main deficiencies in the squad.

At some point, we have to think about fixing them rather than hoping year on year. I remember having a discussion with @Jase at a similar time last year and he said we'll be in a good position if our more attack mind players hit double figures in all competitions; we all know how that planned out.

Going into another season expecting anything different from the same crop is insane tbh.
