Wonder how it’s going to work in the next couple of weeks if he signs a pre-contract with another club. Talk about awkward for the rest of the squad.

I honestly think Rudiger goes into beast mode once his foot hits the pitch and he is not thinking about anything other than defending and shithousing someone on the other team.

Not sure how reliable that sources is but it would be a calculated move if we bring him in now. Kante can't stay fit and Kovacic/Jorginho are at the risk of being overplayed. Saul is a dud. Barkley is horse shit. Ruben is out of place considering he's a shit holding midfielder and he's a shit attacking midfielder.

Lewandowski gave Dortmund a final beast season despite it being an open secret he was shortly off to Bayern.

Players are profesional, if anything it will only further motivate him to get that (for him) elusive PL title before leaving.

Oh, I’m not suggesting that he’d down tools or anything. Just that it’s an awkward dynamic in the team to have a dude who every other player knows is gone in 6 months.

From what I've heard, it seems very similar to the Alaba situation; Bayern offered him quite a bit to renew, but RM blew it out of the water. If this happens to be the case, we ought to move on as @Pizy alluded to.

Heard RM wages are better but not crazy wages. Sign on fee is the difference

Not sure if you're talking about Alaba, but if so - David Alaba's £12m-a-season wage demands 'could derail summer move to Real Madrid' | Daily Mail Online

The wage alone offered by both clubs was significantly different & that's without mentioning the sign on fees to multiple people, which you touched upon. They will do the same thing with Rudi & Mbappe (doubt anyone will even make a move).

Matt Law is saying the sign on fee is making the package for Rudi closer to 300-400k pw

We're not matching the wages RM is offering either

Chris linked with Barcelona in case he doesn't renew. Wouldn't mind if Araujo goes in different direction.

Would be a horrible trade IMO. Christensen - who is homegrown, familiar with club, about to reach his prime - would leave for free and we should be paying for Araujo who is less experienced, South American(always traveling a lot for internationals), less convincing.. Rüdiger seems to be leaving, maybe Azpi too, but Christensen should be our man of future.

Digne could be a smart signing. Experienced in the PL, versatile enough to play in a back 3 or 4 if TT ever needs to switch it up mid match. Old enough to be in his prime but not old enough to have to worry about him declining for a while. All at what should be a decent price.

Dest from Barca is interesting. In our system and under Tuchel’s coaching he could turn into a top class wing back. But from everything I read from Barca supporters he’s still very raw. At 21 years of age that’s to be expected. No idea how much they’d ask for him.

From what I understand Barca have to get rid of players and free up wages to make space for Torres to come in.

If they're struggling to do this then we might be able to negotiate a loan move for Dest for the rest of the season with an option to buy.

I don't like the idea of buying outright in January unless a really top deal came up.

As some have said, Dest is still raw but in a wing back role, his attacking strengths can be highlighted and his defensive weaknesses masked a little easier. The flexibility of playing both sides will help too if James is unavailable or Tuchel wants to rest him. We already have Azpilicueta as the more defensive minded player who can play on either flank. What we desperately miss out on Chilwell is the pace and athleticism to get up and down the pitch and help back up the attackers when pressing the ball. We should get that with Dest. I don't think we'd get that with Digne if I'm honest.
