Cheers fellow Chelsea supporters 9/10 Fixed our midfield. We now have 4 starter quality (theoretically, need to see how Saul adapts) midfielders, each with their own unique skillsets. Tuchel will be reveling in the tactical options he now has. On paper our midfield looks unreal, who would have thought some 3-4 years ago that we would have Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic and Saul all in our squad. I still remember how people on here were dreaming about and how unrealistic it seemed to sign any of them, but here we are... Also finally got a proper striker in Lukaku. Even with Giroud and Tammy gone, we still have Havertz and Werner as striking options. None of them are remotely similar to each other, so here again Tuchel will be presented with several tactical choices and rotational options. I'm gonna keep it short, I think this transfer window has made us champions. We're gonna win the whole thing, I can feel it. 🙈 Edited September 1, 2021 by manpe Strike, Fernando, Johnnyeye and 1 other 3

But the main problem with Kounde is not even his height and built but his swashbuckling attitude, risky dribblings around the own penalty box and through midfield, lapses of concentration and stupid errors. He simply does not have the right mindset for a CB IMO. sounds like rudiger.

Had Mane in his pocket and beat him to every ball. Could Kounde provide us that same defensive awareness? Probably not but is 10 years younger.and whilst it's clear that Tuchel sees him as his heir apparent as he can cover RB and RCB.Dave is a fighter and looks far from ready to give up his spot for at least another, maybe 2 years. It's a shame Livramento didn't hang around as would have been ideal to have in the squad now as depth for RWB,and James could cover for RCB along with Trev. Kounde was always not really that important for now even though I hoped he would join us.

Vesper 30,207
Transfer market: end of negative trend The 67th edition of the CIES Football Observatory Monthly Report analyses from an economic perspective transfer operations carried out by big-5 league clubs during the last decade. It notably shows that the declining trend in investments after the health crisis has stopped. During the last transfer window, clubs from the five major European leagues spent 2% more than in the previous summer. The study also shows that the pandemic has reinforced the domination of English Premier League clubs on the transfer market. The percentage of spending of the latter in comparison to the total big-5 league clubs’ transfer expenditure has increased from 35% between January 2012 and January 2020 to over 45% for the three post-COVID transfer windows. The percentage of investments of the ten clubs having spent the most has also increased between these periods (from 33% to 35% per transfer window on average), as that of the ten most expensive transfers in comparison to the total (from 30% to 33%). All the indicators show a trend towards a concentration of spending from the richest clubs, in particular the wealthiest Premier League ones. Six English teams are at the top of the rankings for the most negative post-pandemic net transfer spending, with Manchester United (-€217 million) ahead of Chelsea (-€205 M) and Arsenal (-€194 M). Since the COVID crisis, English top division clubs recorded a total deficit of almost two billion euro in transfer operations. Conversely, Spanish Liga teams registered a positive net balance (+€200 million). Within the context of a general crisis, the English Premier League is the only competition where a majority of clubs invest massively on the transfer market. This allowed many teams from the other big-5 leagues, and, in a cascade effect, further down, to limit the impact of the health crisis and shows the importance of a global transfer system as it currently exists. At the same time, the dependence of a growing number of clubs even within the wealthiest leagues on transfer incomes highlights the weakness of the current professional football economic system. The survival of more and more teams pivots indeed on the profits generated through the transfer of their best players. This situation is both financially dangerous and sportingly limiting. Clockwork 1,794
It is a slam dunk that Hudson-Odoi needs a loan, there is really no opportunity for him. Tuchel plays 5 defenders, 2 CM, and Mount plus Lukaku are starter status. That leaves Ziyech, Odoi, Pulisic, Werner, and Havertz fighting for the 1 spot. He needs playing time and get his confidence back. Vesper
Fernando 6,585
I agree, it's ridiculous from us to keep him. Unless Tuchel plans on playing him, he would have done great in Dormund! Vesper
