I would absolutely take Ronaldo on a one or two year short term deal, considering the rumblings he wants out, rumours of course. But ultimately, I’d be happy with that as a stop gap, I’ve said it here before, not just because he can still do a job and finish chances, his work ethic and attitude would do wonders for this young team.

taking CR7 now would make us look like a poundland Juve

hard pass

Couldn’t care less what we look like, I’d prefer that option than holding my hands on my head at the amount of chances we miss, ultimately, we need a finisher and it’s an relatively inexpensive option, with the added bonus of his attitude.

I’d be gutted if we went into the season with Giroud and Tammy.

if CR7 comes back to the EPL, it will be to one club, Manure

why would he come here?

it is far too early in the window to assume anything about our sales and targets

Give me Haaland and I will be happy for an entire season.

Gilmour oficially loaned out, now we definietely will need some player to play CM/CDM/double pivor/deep laying playmer/whatever you wanna call it:

https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2021/07/02/premier-league-loan-for-gilmour

Tuchel will probably look at the likes of Gallagher, RLC at the start of pre-season before deciding whether he needs another midfielder or if one of last seasons loanees can fill that role.

Kante/Jorginho/Kovacic will all still play significant roles and they were all excellent ever since Tuchel came in so if they all maintain their level the fourth man will most likely not have that much playing time like Gilmour didn't either. Someone like Gallagher could easily fill that role if Tuchel likes him, and a big money midfield signing could be postponed by at least another year, maybe even two. Later we could see how Gilmour has developed and whether Jorgi needs replacing.

It would be somewhat ironic if Tuchel uses Gallagher after deciding to loan Gilmour out.

And also, Gallagher is not exactly a defensive midfielder, is he? We may need one to cover for Kante, whose injury record isn’t the cleanest in the last 1-2 years.

I thought Gallagher and Gilmour where 2 different type of players?

You mean the loaning out bit? Was trying to make the point that both are still relatively inexperienced at the highest level and it would be ironic if Tuchel uses Gallagher instead of Gilmour.

Depending on how Mbappe’s contract situation goes, it’s entirely possible that one club could end up signing both he AND Haaland for peanuts next summer.

Probably what both Spanish giants are hoping for.

that's the scenario that the hardcore Real Madrid lunatics are close to being pretty sure will happen and are pushing as though it is already etched in stone as fact

IN 2022

1 They get Mbappe on a free

2 They get Camavinga on a free

3 They get Håland for €75m (£64m or so atm)

4 They get Kimmich for less than Håland in 2022 or on a  free in 2023, and perhaps Goretzka too (new Kroos they call him, LOLOL) Both are due to Bayern not being able to match wage offers RM will make.

5 They go hard for de Ligt this window, or the next or the next (contract expires in 2024, so it would be 2023 that they can do the cheap manoeuvre)

6 They will get Salah this  window or next (that is the least most likely to be seen being pushed, and the smarter ones  say its thsi window or bust, as he turns 30yo in 11 months)

7 End game, once all that (or most all) happens, and that billion euro new stadium is pumping in over €120-150m plus new revenue each year, they can proceed to further rape every other team on the planet and take the best players possible for any and all positions down the road (I have seen some list out examples, like Alphonso Davies for LB, even the best young Brits, Foden (after Pep fucks off they say), Bellingham, Saka, Sancho (they deffo want Brits, I even saw MOUNT mentioned by a couple, roflmaooo), Hakimi (some are obsessed with getting him back, many had a fit RM did not match PSG, as they had right of first refusal). Basically ANY player from any team, and the most insane think they can also go in and mug Barca for De Jong, and Pedri (and Fati if he comes good after his horrific injuries).

They are full blown megalomaniacs, and delusional (hopefully, my god, imagine if most of that actually happens, ffs). They do (and I do grudgingly admire that some of them have a grand vision and rationales) have a paradigm that IN THEORY makes some sense. Barca falls apart after Messi leaves, aided by RM ruthlessly raping them, the same for PSG, Bayern is financially handcuffed by too low revenue due to Bundesliga, Juve will pose no huge threat once they show they can take players like de Ligt form them, AC Milan simply never comes back to the level when they were often the best team on the planet for ages, and that leaves just the Big 4 EPL clubs (Manure, Citeh, us, Pool) to battle, and they wager Madrid is simply Irresistible (cue the song, lol) due to climate, stadium, reputation, lifestyle, etc etc etc., especially compared to the non London English clubs.

Let us all hope it is a dystopian nightmare that never happens.

Would be different situations.

Gilmour has all the potential in the world while Gallagher's probably a versatile squad player level, makes sense to loan the former out while using the latter as squad filler, even more so given he's also capable of filling in higher up, especially when Mount needs a rest.

Unless my memory has failed me, has there been anything about us wanting to sell Zouma? I know Tuchel wants a defender but all signs have been pointing to a RWB or right sided defender.

Problem with those players is finding a buyer/taker. With Abraham for example, there seems to be only one club that can maybe afford him and that's Aston Villa. West Ham would like him as well, I believe, but they don't have the money.

Until we know for sure there's concrete interest in our players and someone is willing to fork out the cash, it'll be hard for us to get any meaningful income.

Well I think it is a fairly logical leap Zouma would be someone the club would sell, as:

1) He clearly doesn't fit TT's style

2) He is the type of defender a lot of PL clubs would like

3) His minutes were starting to dwindle to Tammy numbers

4) We have so many players, some will need to be sold, who could admittedly be handy, in order to raise some capital.

I will freely admit, this is me crystal ball gazing and not based on any sort of fact. So, please take more as a projection/prediction rather than me stating it will be a fact/is happening.

A veteran and proven goal scorer is what we need. Given the amount investment we have made in our young attackers. Haaland was never going to happen. We could do much worse.

But both are still inexperienced and unlike Gallagher, Gilmour at least already has some experience in playing for us.

I don’t see the point of him filling in for Mount when we already so many options upfront to do so.
