Clubs will go over 100m to get him ahead of others, like other clubs do for other players the whole time. Dortmund will sell for more than 100m too undoubtedly, look at when they sold Dembele to Barca for a fee that could reach 145m euros... after one season. Sancho will have done 2 good seasons, IIRC he definitely renewed his contract last season and will have more suitors.

If anyone thinks he will just go for 100m when us, Liverpool, United, Barca and Real are all interested then I think they will be shocked come the summer. Dortmund will want as much as somebodies willing to pay. It would be bad business if they did it any other way and based on how theyve operated before with Dembele and Aubamayang, who only wanted one specific club, they will make the club he wants to go to pay their fee, which I would imagine wont just be 100m.

I don't watch any European football at all I've zero interest in it so my question is this is Sancho that good and worth spending possibly our whole transfer budget on one player in the Summer ?. I've seen him play for England and he looks ok nothing to suggest he's worth £100 million quid though.

He is talented and has qualities but it's not worth it to spend a large chunk of our transfer budget on one player when we still need to sign a ST, a LB and possibly a GK this summer and those 3 are going to cost a lot. Plus, we don't have a bottomless budget like some other clubs do.

This might be an unpopular view as many here really like Sancho, but I think we would get much better goal production from signing Werner. Not sure that is possible as Werner wants to be with Klopp.

Anyway atleast we've covered ourselves against the prospect of missing out on Jadon. Don't get him and we have the quality plan B here already, get him then Ziyech can play as a midfielder/#10, win win.

YEah you just never know, but having CL can only be to our advantage, its a plus. Yup def have a quality player in Ziyesh if Sancho falls away. I dont think RM will go for him, looks like they will go all in for Mbappe, and Barac have done some bad business recently, paid alot for the likes Coutinho and Dembele and all failed so far, they wont pay 100 plus for another winger, but yes if they were to go for him then its likely lights out.

I found this one striking for all the grief our board is given. It is in the Ziyech thread at RedCafe.

 

We should have just employed Chelsea's board and saved ourselves a ton of cash. They have got some serious good deals over last 10 years. The money they got for Ramires n Oscar too was mouth watering. We struggle giving away our surplus players.

I'd love us to buy Sancho because the potential looks there for him to become an absolute world beater and he's already putting up very strong numbers in one of the top leagues.

However blowing the bulk of our budget is hugely risky because a big chunk of the deal is based on potential. Much the same way as PSG brought Mbappe, we're betting on Sancho to continue getting better and that isn't a given.

We already have Pulisic and CHO who are similar style wide players, similar age and huge potential upside. I think the Ziyech signing, if he can replicate his Ajax form over here, is intelligent because he's a different type of player and adds more options and variety moving forward. 

I'm starting to think that rather than trying to find a replacement for Hazard (i.e. a world class attacking creative player), I think we'd be better served using a bigger portion of our budget on another striker to compete with Tammy. There isn't a glut of top drawer strikers out there and so we could well be in the same boat as Sancho, in looking at a younger one who could develop into a world class striker but they could cost quite a bit of money.

The whole thing purely depends on what our budget is? If it's say £200m plus anything we raise through sales then splashing £100m+ on Sancho could well be 'doable' alongside strengthening some key areas. However if we're looking at £150-200m in total for this summer than buying Sancho and Ziyech doesn't make sense as it will leave us very little leftover for other areas of the squad, especially left back, another striker and potentially goal keeper.

Said it before and will say it again, for all the critisism our board get (some legit, some not) they would look world class stood next to Woodward and co.
