Blue Armour 4,448
Yes, 2-0 down could have been a challenge, but there was always a question about whether we could get back into a game with this system, after going a goal down. And we've answered that with games against teams like City and Tottenham, nonetheless. In this one we were down at half time. Good character building for the side. 11Drogba and kellzfresh

I don't remember who it was but if you are reading this, do everyone and yourself a favour and just retire from the internet. Pseudo 92
He was outcoached today in my opinion. But I love the spirit he has instilled in the squad.

I wouldn't say out-coached. Granted, Costa made things easier, but there were more or less equal opportunities for both teams to make the most of some shoddy defending. City just failed to take their chances. And like you said, the spirit instilled in the squad has made it possible for defenders to bail each other out, especially with the last-ditch clearances in the second half. Popular Post! The Chels 2,502 Posted December 3, 2016 Popular Post! Share Posted December 3, 2016 It's normal to be outplayed against a Guardiola team at home. In some ways it reminded me of the Bayern-Atletico game in last year's CL SF. Sure we were lucky not to go 2-0 down (although we could ourselves have taken the lead through Hazard...) and there's a lot of work still to be done, but we exploited their defensive weaknesses with ruthless efficiency. That's how you win these games. Blue-in-me-Veins, 11Drogba, kellzfresh and 5 others
Special Juan 28,141
Our mentality was the best part about it today and I bet Conte told them at HT that if they kept giving themselves chances we would score. Popular Post! LDN Blue 7,903 Posted December 3, 2016 Popular Post! Share Posted December 3, 2016 He does need to address these wide areas, we seem to be exposed in. Alonso properly caught out today, teams are going to have watched this and Tottenham and seen we can be scored against. We're lucky because we have enough attacking power to outscore the likes of Spurs and Citeh, but areas need to be reinforced. kellzfresh, Blue-in-me-Veins, positivefootball and 3 others

I disagree but Pep is a very good manager at finding the weakness of other team. They exploited the space between our cb and wb also gary cahill lack of speed. Conte did something similar with Costa against Otamendi. IMO both manager has good game plan, City has the better player and they execute it really well other than finishing. We could not dominate like City but we were more ruthless

This is an apt time to start blooding Zouma on that side, he's quick enough to be able to get out to those wide areas before the problem develops. Cahill and Alonso painfully exposed today. dimmas, !Hazard! and kellzfresh
