The Mourinho Thread

Listening to media saying how adaptive we are, i had a thought.....

well more of a dream team to be honest, it would be the greatest team of chelsea's history, really more fun to think about than expect to happen!

But, could you imagine Jose building a team which could play in a similar way to all of his great teams?

the machine like efficiency an direct ruthlessness of his chelsea 2004-06

the unbeatable defence of Inter with a midfield of counter attacking prowess.

the glitz and aesthetic of his madrid title winning team.

Thing is, im not so sure you have to really sacrifice one for the other (within reason)?

i think your defence needs to be able to play both deep and high pressing?

your midfield needs to be athletic and powerful (chelsea midfield) have the defensive screening of cambiasso (matic?) and have someone to control possession and be good at starting counterattacks (dont think thats cesc, but i do think Koke)

Hazard gives the spark, the magic in attack. Costa can be dynamite and ignite a game that much more through confrontation, but we need another attacking theat. i think we need a winger/striker. someone who can play the role malouda/anelka did for us, etoo did for inter and ronaldo for madrid. ?

such a team would win the league three times in a row ;)

very unlikely to happen though, i think we'd still have to redo at least half the team?

what would be your dream mourinho team?

I think that's mou aim.

To make this team an adaptive team.

people really underestimate the influence he has on this team... not only he put this team together, but he's one of the biggest reasons we're going to win the league.

All rail The Special One

But some people will bitch about how he failed in two other competitions -fa cup and champs league

The thing is, Sunderland are doing just OK at the moment and their run-in is horrendous - Southampton(H), Everton(A), Leicester(H), Arsenal(A) and Chelsea(A).

just wanted to give you a friendly reminder - barcodes are two points ahead of Sunderland, but Sunderland has a match in hand - you still think the barcodes are safe?

Set his team up perfectly.

he did not?

oh wait.. i forgot you expect wba to attack united at OT and forget about man marking mata or fellaini.. lets just go out and play the beautiful game.. right?

as for being quiet.. i thought it was people like you who moaned and cried hopeless that had stopped posting, for the rest of us it seems like normal going.

just so sick and tired of the same "purists" (though i had an another awesome and more apt word in mind) cribbing about the same fucking thing again and again and again.

thats the way jose plays. thats the way jose played with CR in his team. thats the way jose is gonna play in the future. roman seems happy, the club is winning. 99.9% of the fans are happy. but if you get your happiness by taking childish digs on our manager and winding up others rather than enjoying a league title, than sure, be my guest.

i mean i am going thru the last few pages and how surprising that i cant find a single positive thing said from you. a pretty good indicator i feel.

Actually, Ancelotti himself pushed for Torres.

Torres was 100% Carlo's fault. Along with turning down the chance to sign Aguero. Jose says we shouldn't blame him for saying no to the City striker . Well you can not blame him if you want to. :)

As for the rest, mainly luck.

Utd is not touching Chels next season even if they buy 5 new starters. They'll need at least another year to compete again.

Arsenal... I don't think so. I'm sure they'll suffer plenty of injuries like they always do.

So it all depends on a City resurgence. But I don't think that's happening either.

I seriously disagree with Mourinho. Chelsea are in a pole position to retain the title next season. Yes, retain. Stop the delusion.
