Tricky 301
It's contrary to UEFA protocol to discuss personal terms with a player before having received authorization from his existing club. I believe the term is "tapping up", players have contracts for a reason. So I doubt they have agreed anything.Let Madrid have him, we need to strengthen at RW and RB, we have plent of options in midfield, and if we are really to continue playing 4-2-3-1 I feel we would need a player willing to defend a little more. Zinedine Iniesco 172
We will see what happens then, as these are rumors, one can get out of them what he/she desires. It will be hard for a madrid fan to know, because real madrid will keep their mouth shut until BANG they get someone.Lets see what happens. Kisho 33
Avb is the coach of tottenham and his first line of business is to launch a 30 mil +_ bid for moutinho. So I think modric will be sold. To expensive for man u and real don't want to pay full price and sahin does not wanna move besides everybody knows modric will be benched a lot. I think 35 mil bid for from chelsea could do it jmarlow and Ashblues
Jype 6,398
Spurs are on the verge of signing Sigurdsson and are rumored to be after Moutinho too if AVB takes over so Modric looks certain to leave now. Only question remaining is where he's going. The way I see it there are three options: Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid. If there are no player swaps involved in the deal then a transfer to Real Madrid would be the best option from Tottenham's point of view because they're not even playing in the Champions League ( ) and wouldn't have to face Modric in any competition whereas selling to another English team would improve their direct rival. Manchester United would most likely be the one to offer him most playing time because their midfield is the worst and also the oldest but I believe they're not willing to spend as much money on him as Tottenham are asking. We would be able to compete with Real Madrid financially but the problem is Levy and that cunt won't sell to us.I think the only way for us to get Modric now is if their new manager (AVB by the looks of it) wanted one of our players badly, which would suddenly put us in good position in negotiating with them. Sturridge is of course rumored to be in AVB's radar but would we be willing to sacrifice one of our most promising players to get Modric, and even if we were would Spurs still sell Luka to us? Real Madrid and Manchester United don't either have players who Tottenham would want in exchange or the players themselves wouldn't want to go there (Sahin for example). I consider rejects like Diarra to be indifferent, they could be used to sweeten the deal a little but would they really affect Tottenham's decision one way or the other? nadavTKL 1,787
But if we'll sign Modric, what about Hulk? a RW is far more important now. First get Hulk, and than, if we realy want to spend like crazy people- get Modric too. I still dont think its necessary for next season when we still have Lampard, but whatever. Pizy 18,952
Either bid £35m and get him with cash only, or, knowing how much AVB liked Sturridge, give the £25m + Sturridge. With Hazard, Modric, a new RW, and RB I cannot see us finishing lower than 2nd in the Prem, as well as making a very deep CL run. Modric can be the key to a title challenging/winning side for years to come. jmarlow

Whatever that means..it means a chelsea representative was hiding in a bush at tottenham and when Luka walked by he whispered at him and offered him 10's of pounds to sweeten he deal. nadavTKL
Justin_3d 1,140
As soon as i even saw sahins name there, the article turns invalid. Balague is far more credible than the english version of marca.Rumors are rumors though, balague is far more trust worthy with what he says though. I recommend you visit his blog if interested.Balague trustworthy? The guy publishes shit like Marca and Daily Mail. And usually his sources are from some crappy source in Spain. Just recently he was reporting about the Drogba deal to Barcelona....So yeah very credible.

We have defenders for that.I get the idea of total football but I say we've become cowards talking about defending all the time. Now the media is associating us with the ultra defensive tactic calling it "the chelsea way". We need to change this set of mind.
