Yeah. Probably the club was taken aback by Barcas poaching of Kounde, and were not expecting it to happen a second time.

Hopefully they always had a plan B and won't scramble at the last minute

Everything indicates we are scrambling atm. 

We've genuinely been shafted with regards to Raphinha, De Ligt, and Kounde. Sure Barcelona and Bayern are bigger clubs, but the way they leaked info to the media to get an advantage is bar none rat behavior and I wish nothing but the worst for them moving forward. 

In a sticky situation right now given clubs now know how much we have to spend.

Agents are the problem as soon as they sniff so much as a conversation its stright into the media to boost interest and money. Agents are the biggest problem in football. They are worse that scammers because they do it publicly and get away with it.

I don't really see a problem with having both James and someone like Dumfries at RWB.

James will miss a good chunk of games to injuries anyway and for one reason or another has only started 63 out of 114 PL games since being promoted into the squad. He's one hell of a player but also one who seems to be quite often injured so we can't be putting all eggs in one basket.

And it's not like Dumfries is too good to be a rotational player, he only started little more than half of Inter's games last season, despite having zero injuries on record since 2020. If Dumfries were given the starting role every time James is out injured, as well as a handful of starts whenever the CB situation needs Reece to play emergency cover at RCB he should get a decent amount of minutes over the course of a season.

If Tuchel is going to continue with the 3-4-3, having more good options at wing-back roles is vital.

Getting so sick of having to send our expensive flop strikers on loan and just kicking the can down the road. 

Also annoying that we’re still not seeing ANY links to attacking players coming in despite rumors heating up again regarding Timo and Ziyech.

That Law/Ornstein/Jacobs etc haven’t said anything about attackers makes me think we’ve got the blinders on and are ONLY focused on CB’s right now. A goal scorer is equally as important and it doesn’t appear we’re close to anyone. 😔
