Yeah we should have stopped handing out bunker contracts like candy a long time ago. Ppl like Werner, Chilwell, Sarr, Kepa we completely overcommitted needlessly

I think you're onto something I agree we have to think outside the box sometimes, Plus he looks like he can contribute fill diffrent positions like you said a decent squad player. Plus if you have manager who knows how to get the best out of him like antonio conte got the best out of victor moses im definitely all for it. Another name I would throw in Memphis depay seeing that are not many attacking options out there left at this stage of the transfer window.

Why is Chilwell listed on there? For me he's been a great signing, just unlucky with the injury. No reason to group him with the flops.

bc we offered him way too  high wages. i was not talking about performance but of money that was offered. we offered him 190kpw when he was on less than 50k at leicester. it would not have taken this much to bring him here.

If we do that then we're only worsening the current problem of a bloated squad with too many on big money and not enough quality.

Tuchel is like every other manager, he won't be happy that the club hasn't sufficiently strengthened this summer but he might just have to buy into a bigger picture scenario. That's up to the ownership to sell to him. Can he make do with what he has this season and just try and get us into the top 4 again?

It's not ideal but it's going to take a couple of summers and expiring contracts to move on a lot of these players that shouldn't be here anymore. We don't want to be adding another 3 or 4 to this list with 3-4 year contracts and realising next summer we have the same problem with these.

Even if we missed getting any other top defenders after koulibaly, maybe one cover for rb/lb BUT got another exciting forward - this would be a very successful window if we were moving towards an attractive attack based philosophy. 

We need to get direct players who despite managers' demands/lack of coaching attacks - just went for it and took on players and made swift movements. 

Sterling + one more would have changed the dynamic completely. 

Hoping for a stroke of luck somewhere in this transfer market. Whether it's because of a domino effect or whatever - we need this. Attack is the best form of defense.

We only got told that Saint Stevie Me thought that years after it happened. Personally, I do not buy that he has that much vision as this, since he is a guy who goes out uppercutting DJ's because they won't play his favourite Phil Collins song.

Also, how the hell has his value more than tripled in a year? Inter paid €14M for him last year and now he's supposedly worth £40M after a season where he started barely half of the league matches. Makes no sense.

A rotational wing-back is needed for RWB so maybe this guy would fit the bill if a deal can be made at a reasonable value. James will likely play most games anyway but the team is severely lacking a decent backup. Dumfries seemed decent at the Euros last year but haven't seen his club games so can't say for sure.

Whether it happens or not, a quality CB is still needed.
