It happened with AVB (although I guess on that occasion it was a good thing given Munich ), people assume it was his high line that was the downfall but it was actually relenting and let the players get back in a comfort zone.

I doubt that would be the case and a lot of these players didn't even play under Conte, Mourinho etc. I'd put it down to Lampard being streetwise for a game against City. Even Sarri, the ever purist, adapted his approach for 2 of the 3 games against City last season. The one he tried to take them heads on, we got torn apart.

its the disruptive play that I am grading

go back and watch him play in 2016-17

watch him off the ball and then his tackling and interceptions

he is UTTERLY wasted as a forward-thrusting RMF

Real mature, coming of age performance. Showed we can look defensively solid even against the best side in the world. Limited them to a handful of chances and denied them a goal from open play. Could not be more happy with the performance. I think we dominated the match despite City having had control of the midfield without threatening for the most part. We took them game when we wante dto and allowed them posession where the could not make it count. That is the mark of class teams. Our finishing obviuosly let usdown a bit should have killed off the game way earlier but missed 3 or 4 golden opporunities but overall we looked the better side and deservedly win. When a Guardiola side needs to handball on the goalline to stop you, you know you are doing it right.

late June, supremely great weather here in Viking land, we beat a top 6 or 7 team on the planet and it is ALL GOOD (other than the shitdippers finally winning he EPL)

Pulisic is a killer, really direct winger perfect for counter-attacks. Great in front of goal. Even that missed chance, you can just see his great movement and composure when in full speed, it's a shame it wasn't a bit stronger. Really love the guy.
