What I hope happens in an ideal world: We finish in the top 4, Hazard & Courtois extend their contracts, Conte stays and is given at least a couple of his first choice signings this summer.

What will probably happen: We may scrape into the top 4, Conte's relationship deteriorates further with the club and he walks, we appoint a manager that will be very devisive, Hazard & Tibo go, and we start the whole rebuilding process again.

The problem is players like Zappa, Alonso, Dzeko and a few more even if they are Conte's... they are like 3rd 4th 5th choices... We got them only because we didn't get our main targets.

But in all honesty Conte can't blame it all on board yesterday... We cannot compete with Man Utd and Man City but Arsenal is a different thing.

Seriously though... People complaining about him insisting on the 3-man defense.

Who are our available FBs to play a 4-man defense? I know Azpili is super, but not even him can play both left and right at the same time

You want your criticism to be taken seriously, then at least think before sprouting BS that makes no sense.

Also, people are advocating we should start Bats because he didn't embarrass himself (much) against the Almighty Brighton?

I'd give you something if he had actually done anything at all after he came in. I wouldn't complain if he had started and I didn't complain he hadn't. That's the bloody problem here.

Give this squad to whoever you want. Enrique, Pep, Klopp, Heynckes, Simeone and all nice and stupid names I read here. Maybe one of those would do as well as Conte, maybe one of them slightly better, most likely they'd do worse because that's the fucking problem we don't have high level players.

People are discussing some choices such as bringing Ross or not, starting Bats as if that would suddenly bring us to another level. It won't!!!!!!

Look, I hate we won't sign the top players like the Mancs do. I don't like to be confronted by my own manager about what level we really are. I don't like the truths about our club now, but they will never be enough to send me away from Chelsea.

People are pissed or frustrated because they are having trouble accepting our reality. Then they blame the coach, or this or that player, or this or that director.

That IS our level now, Conte was just being honest, people - fans and club staff and executives - can be upset as much as they want about it, but it doesn't change the fact that what Conte said is true and it wasn't legitimated by him saying. It's been there for everyone to see for a while, some (most?) are just in denial.

This is our level, it's okay to moan and vent against whoever you feel like, just don't pretend one sub, or starting XI choice or a new manager will change that level. Well, it won't.

If Conte's first choice is Harry Kane then we will never get him..Cannot blame it on board enitrely...We spent 200 million even though we sold players for the same money.....200 M is lot of money....We bought shit with that money....So much money wasted on drinkwater and bakayoko....Morata is not showing any promise...Both board and conte are at fault...Conte needs to stop moaning..Instead of taking digs at board he has to coach this team some attacking play..Board also needs to buckle up and spend money on quality players with proper scouting

We may have lost to 2 stupid deflected goals but Conte really made some stupid decisions tonight:
1. Why bring Barkley on for Willian when he hasn't played for 6-7 months? Did his best tonight but looked a little lost. Why not just bring Batshuayi on?
2. Wenger may have switched his formation in the second half but why oh why, did we switch to 3-5-2? Think that system has worked only against Atletico this season and it's been awful otherwise.
3. Why did we stick with the back 3/5 all the way till the end? Doesn't even matter if we lose 2-1 or 3-1 since we were already losing at that point!
4. Why the hell did Conte, again, bring a RWB for a RWB? (Benitez would be so proud of that!) Were already 2-1 down by then. Why not bring Bats on for Moses instead and put Pedro to WB or something? I remember Conte used to be flexible with his formation in games last season. This season, he has stubbornly persisted with the same formation. It's always 3-4-3 or 3-5-2. Why not play with a back 4 when we're chasing games?

Ross did as okay as Bats did, we don't have personnel for leaving the 3-man defense behind us, Pedro was absolutely useless after the first 10 minutes, we never switched to 3-5-2. don't know if you noticed, but our main problem yesterday was actually having attacking players...

Conte of course has reason to be frustrated but the idea he is not having any input into transfers is hard to believe - zappacosta, Morata, Alonso, rudiger, and now palmieri and dzeko all players he would know a lot about. Carroll was also his suggestion

Conte needs to utilise our young players more to make up the squad. I think RLC and Barkley are basically the same player, Chalobah would do as well as Drinkwater. Ake could've developed into a left sided Azpilicueta. Musonda could do more. By not making those signings that's £65/70m that could've then been spent on someone who'd instantly improve the first 11. But the club seem obsessed with inflating the squad with average players, ending up with a squad where it's the same one or two players responsible for creating and scoring goals.

 

 

We used to have high level young players, Mourinho sold most of them.

The players you mention are as mediocre as the ones we signed. So if your point is saving money, then yeah, you're right and you might have a chance to land a job under Marina.

But if you mean by doing that we'd be improving, no we won't. We have average players everywhere with few exceptions, none of them mentioned by you.

Do you really think Zappa, Alonso or Palmieri are first Conte choice ?

Same for Carroll or Dzeko ?

You can be sur Conte want top players, it's the reason why he left Juventus some years ago.

And it's the reason of his frustration now.

 

But if the board tell him you have just a low budget to recruit then he gives average player, because average players it's always better than no players at all.

That's no meaning that he is happy with that.

Maybe ZappaCosta was the 15 choice on his whish list.

And for some who says "Yes but board has spend 220 millions for Conte".

It's true but seriously when you count the income players, you have to count depart players and check the balance !

This year we spend 220 millions but we receive 200 millions for our departing players.

So what ? Conte should say "Thanks Chelsea Board, one of the biggest club in the world, to spend 20 millions for me on his window !"
