To spend more just might be a short patch up job. To some, it may be a solution. To me, this team should try to place as highest as possible, but introduce young players next year. Certainly, there are plenty of them around.

Sometime you just got to spend though if you want to compete, for example there is no possible way to make our strikers better, we can't fix them as if they are robot, we can't make them younger in case of Torres and Eto'o. While our young strikers are not good enough, do we really want Lukaku and Feruz to lead the line against Barca...when they are even struggling against Swansea.

If we get a striker we are far more competitive and it does not hurt are chances. With PSG and Monacos spending power we need to be more realistic in are targets and dealings. In Roman we trust.

When I look at Vitesse, I see Aaholt, Piazon, Atsu, Kakuta, Hutchinson, Cuevas there. Isn´t there just one kid who could play for Chelsea next year ? Courtois, Lukaku...are certainly ready for Jose to introduce, I feel.

Not really we would be buying players that are in their prime (mid 20's) not 30 year old players. So it's not a "short patch up job".

Easy to say" let's just introduce some young players" . Problem is that we already have a young team where most of the older players are past their prime.

+ the fact that the players we lack are right down the spine of the team (ST, CM, CB). So putting in young players into does spots really isn't a good option, unless your willing to win nothing for the next 3-4 seasons.

First we need to get this team "clicking" (which requires quality signings) then we can start introducing youth into the team.
