To spend more just might be a short patch up job. To some, it may be a solution. To me, this team should try to place as highest as possible, but introduce young players next year. Certainly, there are plenty of them around.

Sometime you just got to spend though if you want to compete, for example there is no possible way to make our strikers better, we can't fix them as if they are robot, we can't make them younger in case of Torres and Eto'o. While our young strikers are not good enough, do we really want Lukaku and Feruz to lead the line against Barca...when they are even struggling against Swansea.

I realize teams must spend & plenty, these days. After all, Roman´s money made this team into what it is now.

Do I want to see Lukaku leading the team ? Yes, I do. Of course, another striker is needed. I still believe, introducing Lukaku, Piazon, Chalobah won´t hurt the team though. Perhaps others too. Let Jose work on it. This team must play these kids eventually. Otherwise, pretty soon, no one would come aboard to play for Chelsea. Do you think KDB is happy to leave ?

Or FFP might just go bust and we can continue to buy our players  to be fair I am not against young players but sometime you just have to cope with the situation though, and atm it is still best achieved by buying top players. It just like the farmers growing their own crops, obviously we could all do that but nowadays we got enough money and we can just walk 5 mins down to our super market and buy enough for the next 6 months.

So you want to go to Tesco & buy your carrots there. I want to go out buy seeds, grow plants, put them into the soil & wait to harvest my edible veggies.

All I am saying, introduce some of them gradually into the team. Of course, if Luke Shaw is available you run out to buy, then.

Just to be on the same wavelength here. I am not against buying, but what good are Eto´o or Willian ?

Jose could have played Lukaku, up front & rotate Mata, Oscar & hazard, easily.

To be honest, I'm almost certain he's bullshitting. His longest tenures as a coch have been here and at Real, 3 years each... Don't think he'll stay here nine more years than that, not with his personality.

Not really we would be buying players that are in their prime (mid 20's) not 30 year old players. So it's not a "short patch up job".

Easy to say" let's just introduce some young players" . Problem is that we already have a young team where most of the older players are past their prime.

+ the fact that the players we lack are right down the spine of the team (ST, CM, CB). So putting in young players into does spots really isn't a good option, unless your willing to win nothing for the next 3-4 seasons.

First we need to get this team "clicking" (which requires quality signings) then we can start introducing youth into the team.

Where did I say to replace all old players for young ones ?
