The Mourinho Thread

well you have got that one wrong according to the Alex Ferguson book.

Perhaps SAF was just protecting his little sardine munching buddy eh

I wouldn't put too much stock into what Ferguson mentioned in his book. After all, he did say he wanted Guardiola to replace him and yet David Moyes was mentioned as the only man for the job when they hired him 3 seasons ago.

Ok...so we are too believe you and one spanish book writer instead?

Plus wasnt Moyes the only one available at the time.

What I dont get is that certain posters are continuing to use every little snippet of info they can muster up to beat Mourinho down with.....they wanted him gone from the club. But now he has gone and is free to do what the hell he wants. If he goes to Man Utd, the same posters will be having hissy fits, throwing their dummies out of the pram saying he cant go there.

Why cant they just leave him be now.....after all he is a crap manager who cannot improve any team allegedly, so whats to worry about?

Its even more absurd to imagine that, in order to improve the job of a 12m a year guy, you must spend more millions buying more players.

Any manager we hire, in fact any manager at any top club, will be paid an astronomical wage and they will also (correctly) expect millions to be spent buying players.

Pep would be paid almost the same but has already said we need TEN new players. I imagine we'd buy these players.

If Simeone came in, he would expect the same.

What's amazing is that Mourinho DIDN'T get this in the summer yet didn't make more of it. He didn't complain, he didn't complain about Cech being sold against his wishes once the season started. He would have had every right to lambast the board for not backing him and not having more ambition but he didn't. That shows remarkable restraint in my opinion.

But yes, he's a millionaire so.....stuff.

JOSE WANTS SNEIJDER AT UTD?

Jose Mourinho will target Wesley Sneijder if he becomes the next Manchester United manager, according to The Sun.

The report claims United officials have spoken to the former Chelsea manager, and if the club decides to remove Louis van Gaal for Mourinho, he will move for his old Inter Milan player as his first priority.

I'm quite surprised by this (if it is true). Thought he hated his tenure at Madrid.

Me too, his family comes first and they prefer England. In Spain they couldn't have a normal life, his son was bullied/attacked at school etc.

My passion for England starts with my passion for English football. The life in England comes after that. I came to England for the first time because I wanted so much to have the experience of English football. After that, yes, you learn how to love to live in England – particularly in London – and obviously to be back for the second time was also a factor because working in Portugal, Spain, Italy, obviously in London I have a little bit more space to live with my family and a normal life. England and London gives a privacy we can’t get anywhere else.

I agree but you are making it sound like we were 6th and not 16th at the time when he was sacked. I'd put my money and say that every other manager in the league would have had more points after 15 games with this squad than Mourinho has managed.

I too didn't expect us to successfully defend the title but that said, with the poor quality of other top teams we definitely should have at least challenged for it this year, let alone achieving top 4. Hell even if we sacked Mourinho a bit earlier I think with a good winning streak we could have done it.

Apologies if this has already been posted. But, if not, thoughts?

That wasn't far off how I felt when Moutinho left in 2007 (bar the Roman should leave and players bashing), back then he should have stayed at least till the end of the season, this time it was the right decision.

Don't bother letting him know that.

He can't acknowledge that.

To him the whole reason we was 16th place in December was because we bought almost nothing in the summer....
