Hulk

Nah he is completely unnecessary. Every new superstar we bring in decreases the chance that a young player will get a chance. Piazon will most likely move on because he will never get a game, as may de Bruyne because some people seem to think this is FIFA manager mode or Football Manager and we should just go and casually spend £40m on players without thinking.

We just need a new right back who could cover for Ivan and a decent backup goalkeeper and we are set IMO

What is wrong with you people?

You all act like the club is spending your own personal money. Roman can do whatever he pleases with his money.

Who cares about getting players with more value? It's about getting the best players. The objective is to win matches not get the best bargains. And signing Hulk will certainly translate to winning matches and some exciting football being played at Stamford Bridge. If this deal goes through it will be great for the club.

Financial fair play might come in so overspending on someone by £15 million could be huge. Also, some of use like to see Chelsea build smartly. Chelsea has obvious needs. They needed a creative midfielder, a RB, and a striker to replace Drogba. This is exactly the kind of move that's messed Chelsea up previously. Roman desperately wants a player, doesn't care whether they fit into the system or not, massively overpays for them, and then they flop. Is Hulk going to succeed in the Premiership? Maybe, but maybe not. Paying £30-40 million for someone who has had two excellent years playing almost exclusively against poor competition is insane. Not to mention that Chelsea don't need another shoot-first forward. Here's are a couple of interesting stats:

1- Hulk has played 10 games in his career against English clubs. He has 0 goals.

2- Sturridge played 21 Premiership games under AVB last season as our RW and scored 9 goals. Hulk played 23 games at Porto in the same system and scored 9 non-penalty goals. Yes, that's right. Sturridge had a better scoring rate in England than Hulk did in Portugal (and is 4 years younger and costs nothing to buy).

kdb? kakuta? josh as a cam? rambo playing as a dm is not a good move because his most potent weapon is his spped to break but if we play as a dm that is nullified. also even if we do play rambo as a dm that would mean mikel/rambo/lamps/raul/romeu/and now people even want felliani or modric for 2 spots.

also what about our youngsters? piazon/kakuta/josh? buyin hulk is a statement that we dont trust our youth system.

Kdb is a CM and is likely to play in the double pivot. Kakuta once again had an average loan after making a good start. Ramires can play as a dm, look at what Toure does for Man City, if Ramires can work on his passing then he'd be brilliant. Would make his burst from deep a much stronger weapon too as they'd be more unexpected. Your overrating Piazon and Josh too they have a long way to go, before thinking about being in the first team. There's no need to rush them as it could potentially be bad for there careers. There time will come, but in the short term there not the answer, Josh was already struggling at Swansea and nobody knows his best position yet

2 things.

1. I'll have you know that my 40 million transfers on Football Manager are well sought out!

2. Don't ever compare Football Manager to Fifa Manager again!

Cant believe how no one on here seems to think we need a good central midfielder. Playing lampard is like flagging a dead horse...

You clearly know nothing about football. He shakled Schweinstger and Kroos in the Champions League final, never mind his peformances against Barca and Napoli at home.

Emm, that explains his performances in the league where he used to get 'shackled' by the likes of mccarthy against wigan, right? I bet you thought drogba had another season in him as well!

In my opinion (which is often not wanted :halo: ), we'd be much better off not spending £30mil+ on Hulk, and instead, invest in an Xabi Alonso type player.

He holds his position in a defensive midfield role, can intercept well, and dictate play and hoof up precise, long-balls, splitting defences with ease.

De Bruyne, Kakuta, Ramires, Sturridge, Hazard, any of them can play on the right or left wing - no need for another un-natural winger playing on the wing IMO.

We don't need him (anymore), and especially not for 40m.

Hazard and Mata is good enough - we can play 4-3-3 with both of them playing behind Torres, or 4-2-3-1 with Ramires or Marin joining them.

Can use the money for him to increase depth in Midfield, and at RB. We can even get another striker, and not spend up to 40m

Never fails to amaze me how fickle football fans are, had drogba not carried us to the two finals we would've probably sat next season watching channel 5. Not trying to put a downer on things btw, just stating how easily football fans can get carried away. Lampard IS past it, so is Terry, whether you like it or not...

You know, I have been hearing this since 2009.
