TorontoChelsea 4,064
The deal seems to suit both parties (to an extent). Arsenal get maximum money for a 29 year old player and United are now resounding title favourites. Arsenal should reinvest the money and United will easily justify spending that amount if they win a trophy next season. Win-win, no?Yeah, but knowing Arsenal, they'll probably buy a decent player for 9M pounds and just keep the rest for profit.

Otherwise, it is back to square one for them if RVP spends more time on the treatment table than on the pitch again.
Term-X 7,891
Hopefully the Van Persie signing works out for them, I'd rather rape myself with my own severed arm then see City win back to back titles, belittling Mourinho's achievements here. termninja 5,290
RVP to United is actually a great deal.First, Arsenal lost him and even though they brought a replacement, I feel that is a final nail in the coffin for their morale. They lost their captain, icon and someone who carried them through the last season. On the other hand, if he works out at United they will slow down City and stop them from growing and as TX said, degrade Mourinho's work.If he doesn't work out or gets injured, then they have just thrown 20+ million for a 29 year old player. All in all, I'm glad he left Arsenal, there is not enough place for all of us in the top 4 of England. Justin_3d 1,140
This is why I think Bielsa would have been better then AVB, cause he was doing the same thing at Bilbao...trying to change too fast. And he saw that was wrong and he had to cool down. Now Bielsa Bilbao are a team that play an attractive game....but yet to win anything giving that his squad is so thin, that for the style he plays his whole team is burden out by the end of the season! capriccioso 2,545
Here we go again.............. To be fair, if AVB wasn't trying to play Crouching Wanker Hidden Striker-turned-winger, he would have been given a lot more credit.I can't stand Swansea's new kit.Hopefully the Van Persie signing works out for them, I'd rather rape myself with my own severed arm then see City win back to back titles, belittling Mourinho's achievements here. What exactly are they belittling? They won't beat Mourinho unless the break the points record and the goals conceded record, which they won't. So we couldn't of gotten him in the first place Justin. And to be fair credit were it's due you were right there, i never said a bad word about Bielsa mind as i never seen his team play before. But i did vote for AVB over him because i really thought AVB could've done something at Chelsea, and even now if he had bought the players he wanted too i still think he would still of been here. But i doubt we would have a CL trophy. Justin_3d

Nobody will care about the points/goals conceded record, history will only show that City 'matched' Mourinho's Chelsea. Leaving us in the shadows, so we should all hope the Van Persie signing works out for United (at least for this season).
