Strike 7,532
And i think we need to sign a cheap centre back also, who has experience.would prefer a right back. that frees up ivanovic to give cover for CB's as well calculatingInfinity and Duppy Conqueror
Tricky 301
Drogba first season saw him score 10 goals in 26 Premier league matches with Chelsea and that was with having a serious muscle pull that kept him out of action or two months and he was still considered a disappointment. Torres has scored 7 goals in 46 Premier League matches for Chelsea. A massive difference. No disrespect but I went to those games, all of them. We were by far and away the best team in the league an he was our main striker. Nando was in a team struggling for form, suffering management changes and rotating with a second striker. Not sure it's a fair comparison, Drogba missed so many chances, in that particular game I remember the collective groan as he was one on one for the third time in the match.Ps - Drogba also had a few very poor seasons for us... class is permenant, Nando has it, I've faith in the club coaches and RDM, they know what they are doing. calculatingInfinity 1,478
Why would you want to leave? Great food, weather, etc. The club is on the rise up, if they can keep the squad together and recruit smartly they can win Serie A. The only bad thing about Napoli is the Camorra. And the threat of Monte Vesuvio erupting and covering the city in hot lava.Have you ever been there? Not a place I would want to live for sure and when your wife even gets robbed and shit... Yeah... Ollie 4,400
I changed my mind, i really want him actually, he's like the perfect striker, scores all types of goals and is a fucking beast in the air and has pace. If he wants to leave, we have to make an offer, it would be stupid not to, especially as we need another striker. There's not many better strikers around atm and he's 25. I dunno what i was thinking with my previous post... £35m? In todays market, he's totally worth it. daBlackMamba7

It just makes no sense because it implies that everyone who was ever good will always remain good which is obviously nonsense. We should get Beckenbauer, right? I mean, if class is permanent, who cares that he's 67. Pele is 72, but one of the all-time greats so therefore he must still be "class". Nothing is permanent and every player declines. Being good a few years ago is no guarantee of being good in the future. And yes, Drogba did have some poor seasons with us but it was always when he was replaced as a starting striker and was starting 15-20 Premier League games a season. Drogba never had a season remotely as bad as Torres had this past year and a half. 29 games without a goal is not bad, it's historically awful. Peace. and daBlackMamba7
Slam Dunk 1,442
Are we even linked to him? Except from Daily Fail..I think it's fair to say we've been interested in him for a while and we are actively looking for a striker so its a bit odd that other outlets aren't running with this a bit more. Cavani would be my second choice (behind Falcao) if we didn't already have Torres. I think it's well established by now that Torres is going to be our first choice striker this term, whether you lot like it or not. Cavani is too good to be a second string striker and as much as I hate to admit it, we don't need him right now. Invest the money in other areas. LondonPride1905 236
Wouldn't it be smart if Roman/Emenalo/Gourlay have some sort of agreement with Napoli and Cavani , if whether needed, Cavani would be bought at an X sum at an X date in January , if Torres flops again. That way both sides get the best of it. Atleast I think. With upfront payment it's a visible idea. [too much fm, lol] BlueKevin1

Better of waiting til next season, then judging if we want cavani or not.
LondonPride1905 236
As T_x said If Torres flops, I see pressing the panic button and buying Cavani in January for another 50 mil. Depends though. Roman has always been rash at decisions.

Rahul Haque 57
if im being honest, i'd be more confident with cavani as our number 9 going intot he season with sturridge, piazon and lukaku as back up rather then torres
Ollie 4,400
As much as we all want Torres to shine, it's far from guaranteed. We need someone who can guarantee goals, i reckon Cavani can score goals anywhere. Having Torres and then the back up being Sturridge and Lukaku is asking for trouble. We have about 100 CAM's, we NEED Cavani.

Ollie 4,400
We have 3 strikers, 2 you wouldn't trust to throw in in the league and 1 who has had the worst 2 years in his career. We have more quality / promising CAM's than anyone probably in the world.
