The Next Manager?

Seen a lot of previous managers being linked, but truthfully Sarri is the only one i would consider. We have a bunch of players just playing individually, wouldn't happen under Sarri.

He has done a fantastic job at Lazio.

You say that like he wasn't bailed out by Hazard's brilliance throughout the course of the season.

What we have lacked for a number of seasons is leadership on the pitch and that is costing us massively this season.  Other than Thiago Silva and Azpi, I can't name a single player in our first team who has shown any form of leadership this season.

Sarri mentioned multiple times during his stay at Chelsea that he was never going to stay in England long term as he misses Italy too much.

Real shame we are wasting time with Lampard. Make no mistake this will set us back next year when the new manager needs until Christmas to see the players in action and understand who is up to what.

Personally wish we would just appoint Enrique and call it a day, or even Poch would be fine. Not sold on Nags who just seems like a German Graham Potter to me.

Hazard arguably had his best year under Sarri. We actually showed great combination play and linkup. You are just a blind hater.

Bro leadership has very little to do with the fact we don't have any coherent tactics. Watch Arsenal and City, and how every player seems in sync; from the player with ball and without it.

We have scored 29 goals in the PL, no leadership is going to fix that.

We actually miss Jorghinho tbh.

So Lampard was harshly sacked but Tuchel was not? 🤣 These two guys should really stay away from any footballing decisions. They don't have a clue. Boehly is what 22% owner of Lakers, play off is starting in a couple of days, he should focus on that.

When I say leadership, I mean understanding the context/situation of the game and making an impact.    Go look at Arsenal and City again, interesting how their key midfielders in Odegaard, De Bruyne are in leadership roles for their national teams.   The difference is, these guys can sense the moment to switch gears and they can control the tempo of the team's offense.

Whereas look at our midfield and Kovacic looks like he's not that interested, Kante is still re-gaining his fitness and Felix was meant to be the player to help unlock our attack but it looks like his loan spell will go down as a massive flop (unless he finishes the season with multiple goals).

Frank does not build a team, he builds individuals and tells the players to express themselves. No tactics or ideas passed on to the players by Frank so it's easy to dismantle after the players have exhausted their energy in the beginning of the match.

Tuchel, Conte and Sarri were excellent at building teams, a style of play, a system to follow no tinkering of formations, just one style and we stick to it and form chemistry and understanding.

Knowing this, I think the owners should announce that Luis Enrique is taking over in the summer to bring some calm. He will bring a system, a style, a philosophy and compel the players to stick to it. Eventually the team chemistry and understanding will improve and we will be back to the top.
He is the best fit for the club and is the kind of high level manager we need for a club of our stature. Chelsea fans need to realize that only an elite manager can take us back to our level, stop managing scrubs.

The board and the manager should come together and make a list of players who will be here for next season. The manager should discuss with the players and see who is unhappy and wants to leave in the summer, while the board decides who they want to sell.

I am 100% sure players like Pulisic, Ziyech, Aubameyang do not want to stay. So why use them? Are Gallagher and Havertz going to be sold too? Don't play them!  Use Carney, Enzo, Kante and whoever else you want in the middle, if Kovacic is not ready to give it all. Use Fofana in attack. Use Madueke instead of Pulisic. Use Badiashile in defence. We have options. There are enough players who should be determined to get ready for next season.

What's up with all this "we have to keep everyone happy" nonsense? The priority should be the well-being of the club. I can only imagine what it feels like to be Carney. He was supposed to get playing time, yet he has to watch all of these useless pricks get ahead of him in the queue. And for what? This is where all the chaos comes from. There is no sense of direction whatsoever.

Has Carney been injured recently or is he just not being picked?    Really feel like this would have been a golden chance to give Carney some proper minutes alongside Enzo/Kante/Kovacic.   Watching RLC be passive and Gallagher run around like a headless chicken just isn't fun anymore.

These final games of the season could have been used effectively by playing some of these youngsters and seeing what they have to offer.  But instead of doing that, it'll be Havertz & Felix getting auto selections every game & Cucurella will somehow continue to be picked even though he has been absolutely horrible for the most part.   Can't believe we actually let go of Alonso & Emerson to somehow downgrade at the LB spot with Cucurella.

Well, yes but no.
In theory, sure, but you can't just ostracize group of players you consider movable and think it won't affect the rest of dressing room. They are still friends are intelligent enough to know they can meet the same fate as well.

And transfers are not so straightforward. Fact club wants to move a player doesn't mean it will 100% happen. Not to mention what happened with Zyiech just recently.

I always laughed when Potter was defended with "integrating youth", but where tf Carney, Noni and co are is good question. They may be not quite ready, but apparently everyone, led by owners, had given up the season anyway. And if they are waiting to get a chance in satellite club, well, they may not see it until they careers are over.

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly's reportedly turned to his friend and TV presenter James Corden for advice, before taking the decision to appoint Frank Lampard as interim manager until the end of the season

So basically he says that he cant develop the players that are already here and demands a new squad with him in charge over transfers?

If true he can fuck right off.

There's not even a source on this post, so it just sounds like complete guesswork.

Having said that, I think every man and his dog can see we need a striker (and a mobile one with which to lead a press against teams would be extremely ideal) and a defensive midfielder so if this is indeed true and he's identified those two areas as key to be sorted then that already fills me with confidence.

The wide one if true is a bit of a question mark, but Luis Enrique has regularly set up with a 4-3-3 so the wide positions are pretty important to the overall dynamic of the team and the attack. Although we're currently well stocked in that position, the likes of Pulisic and Ziyech are almost certainly going to leave in the summer, and Mount is looking likely too. I'd be surprised in all honesty if we made Felix's move permanent. Depending on what the plan would be for Nkunku, it leaves us realistically with Sterling as the only real genuine experienced wide player in the squad and although big money has been spent, Mudryk and Madueke are still young and need to develop.

He have spent over 600 millions since the summer so I doubt we can afford to go big in the transfer market again without breaking every financial regulation possible, even with a few sellings. Maye 2 players (including Nkunku) and thats about it. Time to work some magic for a "real" manager now to turn Mudyrk, Madueke, CHO and co into worldclass players.
