Pretty sure Dortmund will not be as pathetic as in the first leg. We should have won the tie comfortably back then. In fact any team with a bit of guts would have. But our players players are afraid of scoring, afraid of winning. Guess we can focus on solidifying our position above the relegation zone in the league soon.

Along with Adeyemi, Dortmund will also be without goalkeeper, Gregor Kobel, for the 2nd leg vs Chelsea due to injury. Kobel made 7 saves in the 1st leg. Chelsea created over 2xG without scoring.

They are level on points with Bayern Munich right now, held to a 0-0 draw against the 5th Freiburg yestarday.
Basically we should be put to the sword.
Not because they are any sort of European power but because of Potterball.

They are on points with Bayern and we outplayed them big time on their ground. Just shows that we can be great.

One of the problems Chelsea have in the premier but not in Europe is with man to man marking.
Witness the three goals we scored against Real Madrid last year, when under Tuchel things were generally not exactly bright in the scoring department for us.
If Dortmund's defense behaves likewise then maybe.

Mönchengladbach were held by Freiburg. BVB won the big one va Leipzig.
domestically they are almost level with Bayern so a top English side should wipe the floor with them as we should have in th first leg

If we don't lose 6-0 but instead we are eliminated on penalties it means Potter stays.
There is nothing of significance between now and May, except having to stay in the division, so it means Potter starts next season as well.
I can't think of anything more disastrous.

No Badiashile so go back to 4atb most likely.

Nah, 343 is by far and away our best formation if we want to get actual results. I know a 4atb has been a dream of many for years as our solution but the fact of the matters is that every time we have played it in the past 7-8 years now - for a significant amount of time - we have suffered as a result.

2015-16 - Finished 10th and were disjointed the whole season.

2018-19 - Couldn't control the midfield properly without resorting to sideways passing the entire time

2019-mid 2021 - Couldn't prevent counter attacks/deal with teams overrunning our midfield.

Late 2022 - Now - Cannot create chances and barely win a game.

Our problem is that 3atb is the only system that for the past 7-8 years has produced any consistency and I believe it has become ingrained. 4atb has cost Jose, Sarri and SFL there jobs and Potter looks next. We cannot keep saying that 4atb is failing because of the manager and not the system.

Additionally, two of of most consistent players - James and Chilwell - thrive best as WB's and we have only looked good in the past three years when they, along with Kante, have been playing well.

At this point, I really cannot see the logic in playing 4atb as it has failed again and again. Trev will just have to come in and replace Badman.

For me the team should be:

Kepa

Trev Fofana KK

James Enzo Kova Chilwell

Felix Havetz Sterling

Arguments can be had for RLC and MM/Ziyech for Kova and Sterling but I give the nod to those two simply because we need the European/big game experience, especially without Silva.
