WB: James, D.Sterling, Chilwell, Emerson/Maatsen

Sterling is so not a wingback, he would be a disaster there, he is short AF (listed 1.70m and I say more like 1.68m, so a full 20cm shorter than Alonso, for instance) and not exactly know for his defence, so we would get lit up by opposition LW'ers, AMF's, and CF/SS's

and Emerson and Maatsen (Maatsen is even shorter than Sterling at only 1.67m) are NOT acceptable options

I have no idea why some want to erect a squad of midgets

this is not La Liga (and even they have more vertical/aerial play than say 20 years ago) or a South American league

The meeting between Todd Boehly and Barcelona board for Azpilicueta, Marcos Alonso and other topics is scheduled in the coming hours. 🚨🔵 #CFC

Boehly will directly take care of the negotiations as always - both Azpi and Alonso have an agreement with Barça. Up to Chelsea now.

Our man flew to Barcelona to discuss Marcos Alonso's future?

Crazy if the case, if it is to go see Barca for talks I think it's refreshing to see an owner putting in the donkey work and making such efforts says alot about the bloke imo.

Yeah Sterling is AWB esq. Good defensively but you'd be wishing we had Victor Moses back with the way Sterling goes forward.

It's really odd his attacking decline because at youth level he was a converted winger who was that good going forward James went into the back 3.

It may not even be about specific players. Like his meeting with Jorge Mendes a couple of weeks ago, Boehly is likely just trying to establish new relationships with the power players in the world of football.

If Mino Raiola hadn’t just passed away I’m sure you’d see video of Boehly meeting with him, too.

Instead of going in Italy and pull some heroics with De Ligt goes to Spain for some fringe players and no discussions with De Jong because his agents are in London to discuss with United..

Good lord. 🤦🏻‍♂️

No real need to discuss in person since Marina’s not going to be at the table crossing and uncrossing her pins ala sharon stone in basic instinct..giving old businessmen a shock when they see the face of fuzzy bear down there that rattles them for the rest of the negotiations.

Oh no, its about players.  Alemany the sporting director and Cruyff have just arrived, too.  And Laporta

Honestly, Colwill is a talent but people are overhyping him beyond belief. Colwill has never played a minute in the PL. He did very well but he did not player every game for them. Kimpembe has been playing in Europe and for a top team for several years. Ake has been a prem player for solid years. There is no comparison. Now if we play Colwill and he looks out his depth, then what? Colwill can still get opportunites regardless.

I don’t believe spending big on subpar players, that is what they are, and both City and PSG know that. I would gladly take Koulibaly, he is top CB.

Marc Guehi didn’t have any PL experience, and he had an exceptional season at Palace. If we are playing playing 3 CB then I am very comfortable with Colwill, I don’t even rate Chalobah and he did very well. The reason Rudigar and Christensen improved under Tuchel is playing in a 3 CB there is more protection and less area to cover.
